While the London-based design firm <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2 Yacht Design</a> may be best known for its work within the Turkish superyacht sector, having designed more than 30 yachts in the region, the company’s canon is varied in both design style and yacht type. Led by the inimitable Jonny Horsfield, whose frank, straight talking attitude has led to many close relationships with builders and clients, the studio is home to a deep level of expertise, with a team that specialise in some of the most detailed work found in the global fleet. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/308201/image/large-7f656666f3ac42ed60e82c2ef71ff971.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/308201">A automotive designer by training, Jonny found his place in yacht design in the late 80s somewhat by chance, cutting his teeth under Martin Francis – designer of the highly recognisable superyachts <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/11" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="A 119.0m (390'5&quot;)Blohm & Voss GmbH2008">Motor Yacht A</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5626" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Golden Odyssey123.2m (404'2&quot;)Lürssen Yachts2015">Golden Odyssey</a>&nbsp;and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/901" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Zeus74.5m (244'5&quot;)Blohm & Voss GmbH1991">ECO&nbsp;</a>(to name a few). Returning to London in the early-90s, he joined the team at Donald Starkey, alongside Pascale Reymond and Andy Langton, future founders of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/56" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Reymond Langton Design Ltd. (Company)">Reymond Langton Design</a>. Under Starkey, Jonny specialised in interior design, and he describes those years as “the best years of learning for my career.”When Starkey let the team go during the 1993 recession, Jonny and Steve Howard, another of Starkey’s team, decided to go it alone, utilising their experience and contacts gained under Don to pick up work within the Turkish refit market. Officially coining the company <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2 Yacht Design</a> (Horsfield and Howard being the two Hs), <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/206" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Yachting Partners International (Company)">Yachting Partners International</a> became a major advocate for the brand’s early success and the refit work was considerable. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/77954/image/large-842bee5b9290948276598155fd15d277.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/77954">“It was a different refit market back then, quick and somewhat dirty, but we learned a lot about costs, budgeting and about how to keep the client happy. The issue was that we really weren’t building a reputation in the new-build sector so changing that perspective took a lot of work.” By 2006 however, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a> landed its first new-build with the interior of Talisman C, now <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/373" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Talisman Maiton54.2m (177'10&quot;)Turquoise Yachts2006">Talisman Maiton</a>, at Proteksan, the shipyard that went on to become <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Turquoise Yachts (Company)">Turquoise</a>. That first build set the ball rolling for new-builds and also forged a hugely successful relationship with the shipyard. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a> has now launched 10 <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Turquoise Yachts (Company)">Turquoise</a> yachts, with two more currently in-build.&nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/280772/image/large-6a60d2ad84d85ed0a07b797a98158dc2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/280772">While Turkish yachts are only part of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a> story, they do make up nearly half of the studio’s portfolio and in some ways Jonny has taken some negative heat over the years for the interior styling of a number of the yachts. The recent launch of the 80-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1414" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bilgin Yachts (Company)">Bilgin</a> superyacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6653" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Leona80.0m (262'6&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2023">Leona</a>, which made it onto the cover of a number of publications and garnered millions of views on social media, is an example of one yacht that, while divisive, demonstrates <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2’</a>s capabilities when it comes to bespoke superyacht interiors.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/280861/image/large-4fdcc27bcbf5b4f9f516e9fde5e7b11d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/280861"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/280792/image/large-6a058140153c6376373dfa183966f71c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/280792">“<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6653" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Leona80.0m (262'6&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2023">Leona</a>’s interior is not my style, it's not representative necessarily of the studio’s style, but it also isn’t the role of a yacht designer to force their own style on a client. We never expected <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6653" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Leona80.0m (262'6&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2023">Leona</a> to be for sale and certainly didn’t expect her to attend a yacht show. For everyone that likes the boat, there is someone that hates it, but it was made for a client who had a very clear vision and it is that vision that we succeeded in creating, which I am proud of.” <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/308206/image/large-38f1f816e359a30c413d3090aca6893e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/308206">While <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6653" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Leona80.0m (262'6&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2023">Leona</a>, and somewhat the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Turquoise Yachts (Company)">Turquoise</a> yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6437" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Jewels53.0m (173'11&quot;)Turquoise Yachts2023">Jewels</a> launched in 2022, are at one end of the spectrum, other Turkish yachts have also raised the bar for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a> and its global positioning. One example of this is <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6653" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Leona80.0m (262'6&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2023">Leona</a>’s sistership <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3262" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tatiana33.3m (109'3&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2006">Tatiana</a> launched in 2020, for which Jonny received a number of plaudits. A contemporary, modern and fresh style, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3262" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tatiana33.3m (109'3&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2006">Tatiana</a>’s interiors have been widely acclaimed, with many new and international clients coming to the studio on the back of her success. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/11565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vento87.0m (285'5&quot;)Turquoise Yachts2024">Vento</a>, the 87-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/224" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Turquoise Yachts (Company)">Turquoise</a> due to launch later this year, is set to exhibit yet another of the studio’s capabilities, and will be an interesting yacht to see. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/308209/image/large-ec49ff618eec8cfda55c4124a2a08c77.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/308209">When it comes to his favourite yachts in the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a> portfolio, the stand out for Jonny today is the 74.98-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a> superyacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6415" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arrow74.98m (245'12&quot;)Feadship2020">Arrow</a>, launched in 2020 and hailed as the yacht to see at last year’s boat show in Palm Beach. “If you’d asked me a few years ago I would have said the 123-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/23" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lürssen Yachts (Company)">Lürssen</a> <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5968" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Al Lusail123.0m (403'7&quot;)Lürssen Yachts2017">Al Lusail&nbsp;</a>(exterior by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a>), but seeing <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6415" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arrow74.98m (245'12&quot;)Feadship2020">Arrow</a> at Palm Beach, I was really blown away. I’d not seen the yacht outside of the yard, and while she has a fairly standard profile in terms of lines, the detailing in her proportions are lovely and something I am really proud of.” &nbsp;A knock-out at the show, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6415" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arrow74.98m (245'12&quot;)Feadship2020">Arrow</a> sold during the event, with allegedly as many as 25 millionaires stepping onboard during the course of the week, which is a testament to her design.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/261070/image/large-877f2ec3b1bec6c03a535c35842aad10.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/261070"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5968" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Al Lusail123.0m (403'7&quot;)Lürssen Yachts2017">Al Lusail</a>, one of the largest in <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a>’s canon, is far more radical in her exterior lines, with interconnecting arches throughout her superstructure. Comparing the two boats Jonny explains, “when you look at her you think, that is a spaceship, but in a way her exterior was easier to design, because the brief was ‘do whatever you want, go wild’. Whereas for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6415" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arrow74.98m (245'12&quot;)Feadship2020">Arrow</a> the brief was very particular and fairly conservative and that restriction can be challenging. In a way I am more proud of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6415" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Arrow74.98m (245'12&quot;)Feadship2020">Arrow</a> and the way we created this ultra-modern and sleek yacht within more traditional proportions.”&nbsp;While talking about large yachts, it's impossible to not to mention <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5306" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="REV Ocean (Company)">REV Ocean</a>, which is due to be the largest yacht in the world when launched in 2026. Now expected to be around 195-metres, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5306" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="REV Ocean (Company)">REV</a> has been through some highly publicised delays and developments, but despite the broad exposure, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a>’s has gone somewhat unmentioned. Involved in the project from a very early point, the owner of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5306" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="REV Ocean (Company)">REV</a>, the Norwegian businessman Kjell Inge Røkke, first saw <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a>’s work onboard the 107.4-metre Ulysses (now <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/4946" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Andromeda107.4m (352'4&quot;)Kleven Maritime AS2016">Andromeda</a>) at the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/13" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Monaco Yacht Show - 2018">Monaco Yacht Show 2018</a>. “He didn’t necessarily like the interior of Ulysses, but Kjell admired what we had done at a commercial shipyard, using cruise ship technology and a tight budget, to create a superyacht finish and so we were commissioned to create the interiors of REV.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/308208/image/large-f0eaa1a977e141fe4c590f8d017fa765.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/308208"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/308207/image/large-9548aa44296343ae53a771e521687c0c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/308207">With <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5306" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="REV Ocean (Company)">REV</a>’s construction now back underway, Jonny and the team have kicked back into gear, digging out the drawings and revising the interiors, where possible, to align with the new exterior. Kept tightly under wraps, Jonny describes her interiors as “minimal and quite industrial, almost like an apartment in regards to the architecture and aesthetic, with features such as perforated metal doors. It was a really enjoyable project to work on and I’m looking forward to getting stuck back into it over the coming months.”&nbsp;While its portfolio is broad, and Jonny remains firm on the stance that <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/161" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="H2 Yacht Design (Company)">H2</a> does not have a house style, when pushed he does infer that the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1414" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bilgin Yachts (Company)">Bilgin</a> superyacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3262" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tatiana33.3m (109'3&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2006">Tatiana</a> is most closely aligned with his own stylistic taste. “I would say that ‘house style’ changes over time and develops with the market. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3262" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tatiana33.3m (109'3&quot;)Bilgin Yachts2006">Tatiana</a> has been a really great project for us and we have seen a lot of demand for the modern and neutral aesthetic – you will recognise it to an extent in Al Reem which is due for launch this year. We are feeling a bit of wanderlust in these dark and cold winter days and are looking back over the glorious heat of summer. We thought we'd share with you some shots when Charl van Rooy disappeared to Sardinia to capture some yachts at anchor.&nbsp;In his own words "Among the summer superyacht hotspots, Sardinia’s Emerald Coast is arguably one the most breathtaking. Its vibrant sunrises and sunsets, east to west coastline orientation and ice blue water tones form the perfect backdrop for a superyacht getaway. Home to some of the largest and newest yachts each season, August on the Italian island is a yachtspotter’s paradise with just a few miles of coastline playing host to several billion dollars worth of superyacht masterpieces. Arcadia is one of the few builders, however, that has achieved this on a large scale and the Italian brand has become known for its environmental friendliness as a result of this, amongst others, unique feature.&nbsp;2. Construction&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/14173/image/large-1b33a88ccdc32c64d56b8d1bcd33e501.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/14173">As construction methods of vessels have improved over the years to deliver a better product in less time, so too have the construction materials themselves. The full aluminium build of Silver Fast is engineered and developed much like that of an aircraft. The final result is a sleek, lightweight and efficient contemporary yacht that is as tough as the deep sea voyagers that came before her.3. Cruising<img src="/uploads/store/photo/16836/image/large-c92982abf42e327f9daded181ebf8b9f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/16836">Venturing outside the Mediterranean Sea or leaving the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean behind in search of new cruising grounds is nothing new to any experienced yachtsman or woman’s agenda. A new breed of dedicated support vessels, like Damen’s 6711, however, allows for extended cruising to take place even more impulsively and securely than ever before. The ability to cruise for extended periods with a range of additional toys and exploration craft to bring along, as well as added provisions and rotational crew members, adds great value to an owner’s experience at sea.4. Ranging from hydraulic elevators for storage below deck, conventional garage spaces for easy maintenance or more complex solutions such as the 135-metre Project Thunder’s extending hangar seen here, the ability to now carry your own helicopter wherever you are on your yacht opens up a whole new world of discovery possibilities.&nbsp;6. Hybrid<img src="/uploads/store/photo/23606/image/large-3b125a9f7a9e4ccc27de9b180d3ee622.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/23606">With owners becoming more and more environmentally conscientious by supporting clean-earth initiatives through their business and personal philanthropic backing, superyacht builders simply had to keep with the trend by exploring eco-friendlier alternatives to old-school fossil fuel power plants on yachts. Heesen answered this call with their hybrid motor yacht, Home that has the option to be powered by her two electric shaft motors alone to cruise at 9 knots with minimum noise and vibration levels while consuming only 45 litres per hour.&nbsp;7. Rigging<img src="/uploads/store/photo/24303/image/large-bc87ed3b9bd5f434d2e9ef4e684842d6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/24303"> Over a decade after the Maltese Falcon first spread her wings, Dykstra Naval Architects’ innovative Dyna Rig is still considered one of the sailing yacht marvels of the century. Implemented on only one other vessel on earth, the Dyna Rig makes even the most modern of sailing yachts seem archaic compared to her webbed wind catchers that make the yacht appear to be moving effortlessly.9. Tenders<img src="/uploads/store/photo/9613/image/large-3e93b55a097bbb8baa7e8eda05885e4a.JPG" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/9613">The tender building scene has developed to become as customised as the motherships that carry them, and each owner today has the option to create a miniature version of their floating hotel to transfer their guests in comfort and style to shore. The 107-metre Ulysses took this philosophy to the next level with her impressive fleet of eight tenders, the largest of which is a custom built 21-metre craft designed to accommodate overnight guests and take her original owner on long-range fishing trips.&nbsp;10. Light it up<img src="/uploads/store/photo/24302/image/large-8050ad03a92d2af8349bfe6027f80163.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/24302"> Advancements in the field of light design and the ocean-proofing of these illuminating embellishments are offering an entirely new way for owners to express their unique identity through the exterior of their vessels. Although underwater lights have been around for a number of years, ship-wide LED accent lighting has slowly made its way onto some of the latest large superyachts. I Dynasty and Al Lusail in Tarragona, Spain

Side by side yesterday in the Spanish commercial port of Tarragona were the two 100m+ superyachts I Dynasty and Al Lusail. Developed by Vega Yachts, the 101-metre I Dynasty (left) was delivered in 2015 by Kusch Yachts to a design by The A Group. Her interior modern-classic interior is the work of Studio Massari. On the right lies the new 123-metre Al Lusail which was recently delivered by Lürssen. The Qatari-flagged vessel features a radical exterior by H2 Yacht Design and an interior by fellow London studio, March &amp; White.

The two German giants I Dynasty and Al Lusail in Tarragona

Built under the project name Jupiter, Lürssen’s latest superyacht has departed its facility in Lemwerder last week with Norway as its destination. The 123-metre Qatari-flagged superyacht now cruises under the name Al Lusail and was designed by H2 Yacht Design (exterior) and March &amp; White (interior).

At SuperYacht Times we are renowned for our dedication to travelling the world to capture the best photos of the world’s most interesting superyachts. Lionheart

Kismet 

As soon as we noticed the 95.2-metre Kismet heading north along the Dutch coast, we didn’t hesitate to jump in a plane and fly over the North Sea to capture this amazing superyacht in a completely different environment than her usual cruising grounds.

Dilbar 

Completed last year by Lürssen, the 156-metre Dilbar was captured here whilst undertaking her maiden voyage to Gibraltar. The conditions were challenging to say the least, with some serious wind and heavy seas. Taking to the skies and leaning out of the open door was worth it, however, and we managed to capture Dilbar in a way as unique as the boat herself. Her designer, Espen Oeino comments: “Dilbar is the largest motor yacht in the world by gross tonnage and one of the most complex and challenging yachts that has ever been built. I feel honored and privileged to have been part of this incredible voyage.”

Aquarius

Feadship’s sixth launch of 2016 is the 92-metre Aquarius. Pictured here while cruising the North Sea, with exterior design by Sinot, her huge windows definitely stand out as a design feature.

Aquijo

This amazing sailing superyacht by Vitters &amp; Oceanco, launched in 2015, was anchored off Monaco last summer. Whilst flying in helicopter over the anchorage we spotted the light on her blue hull and knew we had to capture it.

A 

After taking photos of the 119-metre A in a range of beautiful destinations - from Formentera to Monaco to beneath the Northern Lights in Iceland - it was unexpected that one of our favourite shoots would be in no other than the heart of the Netherlands. During her visit to Rotterdam, the light on her hull immediately caught our eye and this is certainly one of the most interesting angles of this unique superyacht.

Vertigo

Feadship launch number seven for 2016 is the 96-metre Vertigo. Her beautiful lines were designed by the renowned Redman Whiteley Dixon studio. Here she is at her launch in Makkum in November.

Alfa Nero 

The iconic 82-metre Alfa Nero was anchored outside Monaco during last year’s Monaco Yacht Show. There is definitely no shortage of photos of this Oceanco, so we wanted to do something a little bit different - with the help of the heli!

Jupiter

On our first photo flight of 2017 we captured the 123m superyacht Project Jupiter from above. Her lines are unlike anything else the German shipyard Lürssen has launched to date and will certainly turn heads wherever she goes.

Having conducted her first sea trials out on the North Sea last week, SYT photographer Tom van Oossanen once again braved the icy winter skies to intercept Jupiter off the German coast on Friday to bring you these exclusive bird’s-eye-view images of the vessel.

The lines on the 123-metre Lürssen project are unlike anything we have seen from the German yacht builder to date. Designed by by H2 Yacht Design, Jupiter features an interior designed by the London-based office of March &amp; White. The yacht has since returned to Lürssen’s shipyard on the river Weser where outfitting will continue to take place ahead of her delivery later this year.

World exclusive: the 123m Lürssen project Jupiter from above

Set for delivery in spring this year, the radical 123-metre Lürssen superyacht project Jupiter left the dock for the first time today as she was seen cruising down the Weser River from the German yacht builder’s facility near Bremen. Project Jupiter was launched in October last year and is British design studio, H2 Yacht Design’s largest project to date. Her interior is the work of fellow London-based office, March and White.

London-based studio H2 Yacht Design has revealed their latest 50-metre superyacht concept. Named Elara, she features flowing lines which give her a dynamic and sporty appearance.

Describing the philosophy behind the design in more detail, James Bermudez, Design Director at H2, explains: “The theme of integrated balcony structures and dynamic surfacing is a studio language currently being explored by H2 Yacht Design. This design ethos was shown to the yachting world in its full effect on the recent 123-metre Jupiter project launched by Lurssen earlier this year.”

“Continuous lines elongate the yacht profile adding to the sense of motion and energy, with the subtle balconies on bridge deck extend aft from the wings stations to provide guests with the functionality of additional exterior deck space. The sophisticated concave surfacing cuts into the superstructure giving interest and emphasising a lightweight sporty appearance, whilst the wrap over carbon mast delivers a distinctive signature and opens up the exterior sun deck to give fantastic panoramic views.”

On scene: SYT October recap

Hot on the heels of the launch of Lürssen’s new 123-metre project Jupiter last week comes the unveiling of yet another impressive 100m+ superyacht. This unknown project was seen being moved into the yacht builder’s facility near Bremen – the same shed from which Jupiter appeared less than a week ago. It is believed that the hull measures in excess of 130-metres and will spend the next 12 months under cover where completion and outfitting will take place.
