Four of the largest yachts in the world are all on the move in the Middle East. Yesterday, we spotted the 180 metre Azzam and the 155 metre Al Said cruising side by side through the Suez Canal. We have not yet seen photos of them cruising together, but it must have been an impressive sight. Meanwhile, the 139 metre superyacht Al Salamah and 147 metre Topaz have both arrived in Jeddah.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154765/image/large-15cae7ab6c861a4e985b4fe8aa3d1dad.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154765">Image by <a href="https://www.marinetraffic.com/" target="_blank">Marinetraffic.com</a>It is interesting to see that Al Salamah has changed it flag to the flag of Bahrein. The yacht was offered for sale a couple of years ago, when at that time she was Saudi owned. Kusch Yachts undertook her naval architecture whilst Tim Heywood Designs were responsible for her exterior design. Andrew Winch Designs undertook her interior design. Her last major refit was completed in 2014 in which she received a new deckhouse on the forward sundeck, and though it is suspected the work was completed by Dorries Maritime Services, this has never been confirmed.The tenth largest yacht in the world, Al Salamah, was built by HDW in Kiel, Germany, before being taken to the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen for completion. She was launched in 1999, and features exterior and interior design by Terence Disdale Design. The Top 20 largest yachts ever built in Germany

Many people know Lürssen Yachts as the builder of some of the most spectacular yachts in the world, but in recent years Lürssen Yachts has also proved to be a very solid refit partner. Two recent yachts that have used the Lürssen facilities for modifications are Queen K and Al Salamah. <div align="center">

</div><a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/591">Queen K</a>, which was completed by Lürssen Yachts in 2004 as Queen M, was relaunched a few days ago from the Lürssen Bremen shipyard. She now features a beautiful dark grey hull. Parts of her superstructure and mast were also painted grey. The owner had also opted for an extra deck which was added behind the mast above the owner’s suite.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/122526/image/large-bc1e2a15ff29290cd387d19fce615533.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/122526"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/122527/image/large-baa91dfb7166fb518d238a41f68a37de.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/122527"> The other yacht at the shipyard was the 139m (457ft) <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/847">Al Salamah</a>, after a busy season she returned to the shipyard in the Autumn of 2006. Unknown to many, Al Salamah is used extensively by her owner and his guests. Al Salamah's owner takes her out for trips in Arabian waters on a regular basis. Al Salamah was recently dry-docked at MWB in the Bremerhaven and returned only a few days ago in Bremen for her finishing touches. Both Queen K and Al Salamah were built by Lürssen Yachts, but Lürssen also happily refit yachts built at other shipyards, like the 66m <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/152">Dilbar</a> which was at the shipyard during the winter.
