Standing out in the sea of yacht charter, sales, and management companies can be challenging, but <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DOKA YACHTING (Company)">Doka Yachting</a> has honed its vision to set itself apart. Founded in 2020 by dynamic duo Antoni Vlnieska and Dominika Kitowska, former crew members, they recognised the importance of sound advice and guidance, drawing from first-hand experiences onboard. We learn more about their journey, from former crew members to successful entrepreneurs, their vision for the future of their business, and their thoughts on the industry. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/310980/image/large-8e1f81f2f2ac8146f5e112288037960d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/310980">How did you first establish&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DOKA YACHTING (Company)">Doka Yachting</a>?Antoni: I started in the yachting industry at 16 years old; I was an engineer, then worked my way to Captain. I worked across the Mediterranean and the US and met Dominika six years ago when we worked onboard together. Then, in 2020, we decided to move away from crewing and start the company. I first started it on my own, and once I had more work, we built it together. In the beginning, we just had one yacht and were doing charters. Then, step by step, friends and colleagues in our network started to refer us. We have now been based in Monaco for a year. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/310982/image/large-00e778335ea1dc63d6a97e7f63d3261b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/310982">What factors helped&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DOKA YACHTING (Company)">Doka Yachting</a>&nbsp;develop?&nbsp;Dominika: Firstly, starting in the pandemic was a huge benefit for us. It brought us many new clients who were scared of conventional travel and turned toward the yachting industry. The charter season of 2022 was an excellent season for us. Being ex-crew members has been so beneficial for us in building our company, as we began by utilising our existing yachting network.Antoni: Being a young company, in the beginning, it took some time to gain the trust of brokers and clients and go through all the correct processes and certifications, but we are there now and are much more established. Today, we have a great fleet for an agency our size and a promising season ahead, with bookings already for next year.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/87079/image/large-12a28e945cd0bf08ab68439f7aa835d6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/87079"> How has your onboard experience benefitted&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DOKA YACHTING (Company)">Doka Yachting</a>?Antoni: Being a couple and former crew members ourselves, we wanted to establish a family-oriented business. Transitioning into yacht brokerage felt like a natural progression for us. While we had to learn the professional aspects of brokerage, our first-hand experience onboard gives us a deep understanding of crew dynamics and technical operations. When we assist in selling or purchasing a yacht, we discuss all aspects with the crew and go onboard the vessel, allowing us to give an in-depth technical perspective that sets us apart. This hands-on approach of being ex-crew allows us to see the whole picture that some may overlook. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/310984/image/large-f1274e30bb9960bceafb20782ac57a5a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/310984">Can you describe your current portfolio and client base?&nbsp;Antoni: Most of our yachts came naturally to us. For example, the friend of an owner who was the first seller of the first boat we sold is how we transitioned into sales. We always knew we wanted to do sales, but we started with charter and then it developed. Our big goal at the moment is to get more yachts in our portfolio above 60 metres for charter to allow us to have more yachts to propose to our clients.&nbsp;Dominika: We have quite a lot of clients that come back to us each year since we began, which is great. In terms of the clients requesting charters, we have definitely experienced the wave of the younger generation entering the industry. We work closely with a lot of Captains and have built these relationships, so a lot of our business comes from these referrals. We have quite a big CA charter listing for an agency our size. Our clients are very happy, and they come back to us as they know we bring this experience. When I go to check out a boat for a client, I always talk to the Captain and analyse the technical side and look into how it has been maintained.&nbsp;Dominika: Combining our charter crewing experience with our fresh approach is what sets us apart. We have a genuine passion for what we do, and we hope to bring a younger, more dynamic perspective to the brokerage industry through ourselves and by building our team out. Also, having worked on charter yachts ourselves, we have a lot of knowledge about client needs, which is a big advantage for us when securing our charter clients. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/310979/image/large-1a7a68b5c78db6c2f71bc9f262392dd8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/310979">How will you look to build your team?Antoni: Each year, we set goals to see where we want to go, and this year, our vision is growth. So, we are looking at a bigger office and to grow the company. But growth isn't just about size; it's about the joy of collaborating and working with others to develop a team with one vision. We want like-minded and passionate people working with us. We are looking for long-term partners to develop a trustworthy relationship and who will value <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DOKA YACHTING (Company)">Doka</a> just as much as we do.&nbsp;Dominika: For now, we are recruiting people with that same technical, first-hand knowledge. We are first looking for an additional person on the sales side to accompany Antoni, and I will need another person to help me with the charter side in the run-up to a busy season. Our work ethic has always been to help each other out, so we aim to grow our team naturally over the next couple of months and keep that element of teamwork at the front. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/310983/image/large-d079939cf433d2f91a0b4b2f810f7c28.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/310983">How do you embrace technology and adapt to industry developments?Dominika: Today, it isn't as important to have a physical office but to be present online. For a smaller company like ours, our online presence is how we can get quickly on top. There are definitely more and more digital tools out there; we are pretty strong on the digital side and utilise various platforms, smart tools and technologies within our company. There is also the evolution of artificial intelligence (AI), which has enormous potential to shape the industry's future. Many clients coming into the industry have made their money in these technology sectors, such as AI and cryptocurrency, so it will almost become obligatory for the industry to accept these developments. We will advise each other and continually improve. We want to keep our family-oriented values when we offer something we deliver, which is very important and why clients keep returning to us. At the moment, our recruitment will focus on sales and charter, but eventually, we would also like to grow our management team.Dominika: We take pride in our achievements so far as a small company based in Monaco, and we continue to be driven by our passion for steady and sustainable growth and evolution. The vessel underwent an extensive overhaul by the Lusben team, who notably extended her overall length from the original 42.2-metres, with a 2.4-metre extension at her stern, and a 2.2-metre extension at her bow. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/193878/image/large-221b917679f20c984c244486fcc8f1dd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/193878">The motor yacht, originally commissioned by the late Andrea Merloni of Fineldo and Indesit, was due to undergo the refit prior to her owner's death. After the incident, Merloni’s family moved to go forward with the intended modifications out of respect for her owner. Her previous owner was a major contributor to the works, collaborating with Andrea Pezzini, CEO of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1087" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Floating Life (Company)">Floating Life</a> and the naval architect Mauro Sculli. The work has entirely amended the interior spaces of the motor yacht, which now has an increased top speed of 17 knots, from the original 15,8 knots, offered by new generators. Her consumption has also been reduced by 20%. In addition to the structural changes, her interiors have been refurbished, two lifts have been added and an emergency staircase from the owners suite has been installed. She is the Ancona-based yard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2354" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) (Company)">CdM's</a> first full-custom project and based on a project by Andrea Pezzini of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1087" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Floating Life (Company)">Floating Life&nbsp;</a>(who also acted as the owner’s representative) in collaboration with Mauro Sculli and Sergio Cutolo for the naval architecture and engineering respectively. The high bow and chunky superstructure may not be to everyone’s taste and her general arrangement is certainly unconventional, but once on board the owner’s reasoning behind the styling and layout becomes much clearer. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/68515/image/large-ce7a701e474b12c3eab052dc4d87d248.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68515"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/68516/image/large-1be2e06a8f37f0074157915d6ead31c4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68516">“I’m single with no children, I have time on my hands, and I’m fortunate enough to have some money in the bank,” Andrea Merloni, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6034" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Audace42.8m (140'5&quot;)Cantiere delle Marche (CdM)2019">Audace</a>’s straight-talking Italian owner, told SuperYacht Times last summer.&nbsp;“I want to make the most of life and this yacht is my way of doing that.”Merloni, who plans to live year-round on board, had two principle requests in terms of design and layout. Firstly, he wanted a real explorer rather than a floating palace&nbsp;“full of marble and gold taps”; and secondly he wanted the entire top deck reserved for his own private use. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/68232/image/large-b05f9ea35468ede093b1202c575b6098.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68232"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/68223/image/large-f138cd9f90a5a96a3cc8ffaf47256a54.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68223">In fact, the owner’s deck can only be accessed by a private staircase with a security door at the foot of the stairs to prevent unauthorised access. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/68231/image/large-f4720ce05a960c739b102af5c6f4e0da.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68231">The cabin itself with double bathroom is located forward, and there is a small galley connected to the pantry so he doesn’t always have to rely on crew service. Aft of the staircase is a living area with comfy loungers and a giant flat-screen TV. With walk-around side decks, there is a Jacuzzi on the open aft deck.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/68225/image/large-5364a45a3921aab1e52eb34c1c9fa39d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68225">The upper deck wheelhouse has a Böning/Furuno integrated bridge system and an island console so crew on watch can get up close to the windshield, and there is also a Portuguese bridge. Behind the captain’s cabin, the rest of the deck is taken up with a cosy guest salon that can also be used as a cinema/media room overlooking the stern terrace.Half the length of the main deck is taken up by the open and semi-open aft deck. The open deck will carry a 10-metre custom tender being built by the owner when not in use or being towed and is deployed using an 8.9-tonne capacity crane that the owner specifically asked to be painted Ferrari red.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/68221/image/large-66527e655c095a67a5969d03920bce60.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68221"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/68222/image/large-cdc56095da174c2c18df6bd20505d4df.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68222">A similar but smaller crane in the bow is used to launch a customised land Rover Defender (yet to be delivered), a BMW GS 1200 off-road motorbike, a Jet Ski and the crew tender. Interestingly, the mezzanine deck in the bow is made of lightweight composites so it can be easily removed during loading operations. &nbsp;The owner did not want a formal salon on the main deck that would never be used. Instead, there is semi-enclosed, multifunctional space with a DJ station for partying and a TV screen that lowers from the ceiling and swivels 360°. Inside are two guest cabins with double doors that open onto the side decks. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/68226/image/large-29a56838d648a471db3e83ad67e8dcb8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68226">The lower deck aft is taken up by another multifunctional space that serves as a beach club or disco equipped with a sophisticated DJ and audio-visual system (the walls and ceiling are clad with extra-thick insulation to ensure all the sound stays inside the disco when in port). Amidships are two VIP suites with private fold-down balconies. The pro-spec galley fitted out by Marrone is enormous and can prepare food for up to 250 guests at a time. There is very comfortable and spacious accommodation for eight crew forward.“Another priority for me was the crew quarters,”&nbsp;says the owner. “As a live-aboard owner I spend more time with my crew than with my guests and – believe me – if they’re not happy, neither am I.”&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/68229/image/large-67afeca007cf9bba3006ddf9f202b0b5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68229">The under lower deck, highly unusual for this size of vessel, runs the length of the yacht. It is divided into various compartments comprising an aft control room, engine room, forward control room, laundry, refrigerated garbage room and cold storage. The owner resisted any attempt to add cosmetic frills and there is no marble or other exotic materials on board. The 42.8-metre explorer superyacht was built for an Italian owner who will live onboard all year. CdM launches 43m custom explorer Audace

Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has shared footage of its new 39.37-metre explorer superyacht Aurelia 29&nbsp;currently under construction. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/52681/image/large-8690800d80c0ec1596d4af73ae49f9db.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/52681">In the video, the steel hull can be seen being transported to CdM’s facility in Ancona, where the yard is set to join it with its aluminium superstructure and being her outfitting. Cantiere delle Marche 40m superyacht Aurelia 29 on the move

Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) has announced a record number of projects in their construction book. With ten projects currently under contract measuring between 31 and 43 metres, together they measure a total length of 368 metres.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/678/image/large-3025ddc033645e1cd0335e1f7fddf3b7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/678">&nbsp;"Thanks to them and to our committed and passionate management, Cantiere delle Marche has a solid double-digit growth and its production is growing in both figures and quality,"&nbsp;says Gabriele Virgili, Cantiere delle Marche's chairman and majority shareholder.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/35393/image/large-1d6b6a918def1fffe47bcadb4fbd55bb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/35393">The company already delivered the 32-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6157" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Gatto 32.0m (104'12&quot;)">Gatto</a> earlier this year and is set to deliver two more yachts later this year; &nbsp;the Nauta Air 110' Mimi La Sardine and the Darwin 102' Tenggiri. All four superyachts measure between 39 and 40 metres and include three projects that were unveiled earlier this year. One is the 39.5m Spadolini designed explorer yacht project CP, another the 40m project MG 129 and lastly the 40m flexplorer project Aurelia. &nbsp;A new project on the list is the Acala 2, which is a 39-metre one-off project. Record number of superyachts under contract at CdM

Vasco Buonpensiere, Sales and Marketing Director of Cantiere Delle Marche, has reported that the company closed 2017 on a high, with the deliveries of two new superyachts, their involvement in two second-hand deals of Darwin 86 and 96 motor yachts, and the sales of four new motor yachts in the past 6 months alone.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/28638/image/large-cb1ab541c697d0e875770f8a807522cb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/28638">The yard delivered their largest yacht to date, the 33.83-metre Nauta Air 111 Hyhma, as well as the 31.1-metre Darwin 102 Galego, but the true testament of their recent success are the sales of their four new motor yachts with a length between 39.5 and 41 metres. The company has now a total of eight yachts on order, including the 42.8-metre&nbsp;K42 that will be launched in around a year’s time and will be the flagship of the company.Bruno Piantini, Managing Director of CDM, comments on the growing success of the Italian yard: “In 2017 we have achieved a Production Value growth of 18% (with an average annual growth rate of the period 2013-2017 of 50%). We have completed the construction of a new shed of about 1,200 sqm, where we are building a 42.8-metre motor yacht with a volume of just under 500GT, and a new warehouse area of about 400 sqm is underway.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19087/image/large-85b15b912184bc0af3a97572f94b06e2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19087"> Speaking of the future growth of the company CEO of CDM, Ennio Cecchini, clearly states the brands’ intentions when it comes to expanding the size range of the yard: “In terms of size of the yachts, we confirm that we are not going to build bigger than 45 metres or 499GT. We are not interested to enter into a very cramped arena where there are a few shipyards leading the market and a lot more which are struggling to build one unit per year - in the good years.”Cecchini goes on, stating that the core of their business is, and will continue to be, quality and the quest for perfection, and not a race to build larger vessels or, indeed, an unmanageable quantity of vessels. He says, “In terms of our facilities, we have just added one 61-metre shed to the existing one and – as we do not want to deliver more than three to four yachts per year – we do not need more. Once again I repeat our mantra: we want to become better and better, not bigger and bigger! Strong order book for CDM with 4 new superyachts sold in 6 months

Construction on the second custom model of Floating Life's K-Series - the K42 - is in full swing at the Cantiere Delle Marche Shipyard in Italy.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19090/image/large-cdb682296b06313911ff1a3194b3c6f2.JPG" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19090">The build of the one-off 42-metre K42 custom superyacht, owned by and created in partnership with Floating Life, was secured by the Italian shipyard Cantiere delle Marche in January 2017, with a separate build team from the shipyard working on the construction of this sub 500 GT project.The second K-Series unit is a five-deck yacht, 42.8 meters long, with a maximum beam of 9.4-metres. In her current state, the 42-metre explorer yacht now has a completed hull, her deck structures are almost all in position and the installation of her onboard systems has begun. The Italian yard has also begun hull verification in preparation for painting.The naval architecture behind K42 has been developed by Studio Hydrotec, with Studio Sculli having designed the exterior and interior areas, and she is expected to be ready for delivery by the end of 2018. When she is launched, K42 will become the shipyard’s sixth yacht over 100 feet.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19085/image/large-6a9f4d83bee4149bfe14074adf6ed990.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19085"> Designed and built as an explorer concept, the motor yacht K42 is a custom model which boasts a 5,000 nautical mile range at 10 knots for cruising in seas in all corners of the world. Every client of Floating Life's K-series can choose between completely custom superstructures, interior layouts, finishings and décor.&nbsp;As part of this K-Series from Floating Life - &nbsp;which includes the flagship vessel K40 - the stucco for the K42 will be 4mm thick, instead of the more typical width of 10 to 20 mm, thus giving the explorer a much trimmer appearance and a more homogeneous hull.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19079/image/large-a38e606072162f6279742bee4a15ba61.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19079">Following the new production philosophy developed by Floating Life for this series, the K-Series hull was created using a sophisticated hydrodynamic computer program and then tank tested at Goteborg (SSPA). The overall height of the vessel is 5.8-metres with a 2.8-metre draft at full load.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19073/image/large-bf22a2d8720f9aad545f6884f2945bf8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19073"> As evident from the renderings, the K42 features resolute and aggressive lines. On board, the K42 is filled with innovative features like the immense beach club on the lower deck that can be completely soundproofed.In addition, the 50m2&nbsp;bathing platform astern features a secondary extendable platform. The 170m2 aft deck transforms into a cinema or a partially sheltered open-air disco, as well as two interior salons and an outdoor dining area that can seat up to 14 guests. &nbsp;Conceived as an exclusive owner’s deck, the almost 75m2 upper deck includes the owner’s cabin, two bathrooms, a spacious salon and a jacuzzi on a private terrace facing aft.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/682/image/large-6b274e735d532503974d35899f6f98c9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/682">The upper deck holds the skipper’s quarters which communicate directly with the bridge. The main deck continues with a spacious living zone and two guest cabins, both of which feature their own bathrooms. &nbsp;As requested by the owner, a 6-metre tender, a jet ski and an SUV are also accommodated forward. The space below the lower deck is used for a large engine room, considerable storage space, the night generator area and a control room.
