Delivered by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/121" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Palmer Johnson Yachts (Company)">Palmer Johnson</a> in 2010, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1706" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DB952.3m (171'7&quot;)Palmer Johnson Yachts2010">DB9</a> was built as the American yard's first <a data-gid="gid://syiq/YachtModel/3031" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Palmer Johnson 17052.2m (171'3&quot;)">Palmer Johnson 170</a> project, who was then followed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2350" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bliss52.2m (171'3&quot;)Palmer Johnson Yachts2014">Bliss</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5607" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sanam52.2m (171'3&quot;)Palmer Johnson Yachts2016">Sanam</a> in 2014 and 2016 respectively. Most recently refitted in 2020, she features naval architecture from her builder, while her sweeping curves, sleek lines and interior design come from the drawing boards of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/65" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nuvolari Lenard (Company)">Nuvolari Lenard</a>. With a volume of 495 GT, the all-aluminium vessel has accommodation for 12 guests across her five luxurious staterooms. Onboard, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1706" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DB952.3m (171'7&quot;)Palmer Johnson Yachts2010">DB9</a> has an open-air cinema, a 8-metre swimming pool, an infinity-edge Jacuzzi and oversized sun beds, which provide panoramic views. Equipped with twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MTU (Company)">MTU</a> 16V 4000 M93 diesel engines, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1706" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="DB952.3m (171'7&quot;)Palmer Johnson Yachts2010">DB9</a> can reach a top speed of 32.5 knots and a cruising speed of 24 knots. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/121" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Palmer Johnson Yachts (Company)">Palmer Johnson</a> superyacht is currently listed for sale with an asking price of €25,000,000.

The two other yachts in the series are the 2010-built <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/db9" target="_blank">DB9</a> and <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/s-52m" target="_blank">S</a> (formerly known as Sanam) from 2016. The yacht is currently based in the Middle East and is seen here at the Bulgari Hotel Yacht Club in Dubai.

Superyacht Bliss in Conca dei Marini, Italy

Seen here anchored off the Italian coastal town of Conca dei Marini in the Campania region is the 52 metre superyacht Bliss. Built by Palmer Johnson in 2014, Bliss is constructed entirely out of aluminium. She features an exterior and interior design by Nuvolari &amp; Lenard, whilst Palmer Johnson were responsible for her naval architecture of the vessel. Bliss is the second unit in the shipyard’s PJ 170 series that was constructed at its previous facility in Sturgeon Bay. The two other yachts in the series are the 2010-built DB9 and Sanam, which was recently delivered after having been completed in Dania, Florida.

The 52m Palmer Johnson superyacht Bliss in Campania

The third hull of Palmer Johnson’s PJ 170 SportYacht range arrived in the Mediterranean this week. The 52 metre yacht was launched in 2015 as the last vessel to be completed at Palmer Johnson’s Sturgeon Bay facility in the U.S.A, from where she was transported to Dania, Florida, for final outfitting at the end of last year.

Named Sanam, the yacht is designed by the Italian design duo Nuvolari Lenard as sister ships to DB9 (2010) and Bliss (2014). Bliss and Sanam both feature an enclosed upper deck area whereas DB9’s open sundeck and gold exterior clearly sets her apart in the PJ 170 range.

Palmer Johnson announced in September last year that the company will be closing its doors and is to move production to the Netherlands. In the report PJ stated that some of its initial intentions at its new production facility (still to be confirmed) will be the completion of hull number two of the PJ 48 full-carbon SuperSport series, the hull of which is currently located in Norway.
