Having recently delivered its latest high-performance motor yacht in time for the summer cruising season, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2612" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Otam (Company)">Otam</a> is now preparing to unveil the Otam 85 GTS yacht during its world premiere at the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/35" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cannes Yachting Festival - 2019">Cannes Yachting Festival</a> in September. Burning only 16 litres per nm at a speed of 37 knots, the Otam 85 GTS is in a class of her own. Italian shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2612" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Otam (Company)">Otam</a> has announced the launch of its brand new 25.85-metre full custom motor yacht Otam 85 GTS, which was completed at its Genoa-based shipyard ahead of schedule. The exterior design, layout and style has been developed in close cooperation with<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5167" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Joseph Dirand Architecture (Company)">&nbsp;Joseph Dirand Architecture</a>. The owner was represented by Max Riedl, CEO of the German yacht consultancy company <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2548" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cornelsen & Partner Yacht Consulting GmbH (Company)">Cornelsen &amp; Partner</a>. We were presenting the OTAM 80, which raised a lot of interest because of its performance and its second, full-beam master suite in the centre of the yacht. The yard has reported that the project currently has its hull and deck assembled, MTU 16v engines installed, and Arneson propulsion system fixed. Additionally, the yard has begun the process of manufacturing the superyacht’s custom hardtop, and installation of the electrical and hydraulic systems is already underway. &nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/52671/image/large-d02880c6d3029c77a1d3bdd329546f1e.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/52671">The project is a<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/48484" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Otam announces sale of new 85 GTS superyacht (2018-05-08 11:00:00 +0200)">&nbsp;one-off build</a> from Otam, built in collaboration with Umberto Tagliavini, Aldo Scorzoni and Clara Barni of Marine Design &amp; Services. Joseph Dirand Architecture is responsible for the interior and exterior styling onboard the 85 GTS.

Otam 85 GTS: construction update

In May this year, Italian yacht builder Otam revealed its plans for the construction of a new custom edition 85 GTS motor yacht. The one-off high-speed craft is already in an advanced stage of construction with both the hull and deck structures now complete and outfitting to take place in the coming months. Ahead of her delivery in June 2019, here we take a closer look at what is to expect.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/43183/image/large-99048f7bb0d9ef94804db55c0d9c7644.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/43183"> French Architect and interior designer Joseph Dirand has styled the 25.9-metre yacht after she was sold back in May 2018. The 85 GTS project is an evolution of the Otam 80, whose ‘futuristic and powerful’ design was inspired by supercars. The client has modified the exterior design to achieve a more dynamic and less aggressive profile for the 85 GTS, which can reach a top speed of 45 knots.&nbsp;She features an open transom that leads down to a generous swim platform and a semi-open fly deck with ample lounging space.
