Notably, most of the technical components on board are constructed in carbon fibre (as are her four hull doors on the stern) to reduce the vessel's overall weight.

(Company)">Baglietto’s</a> first launch of the year took place in La Spezia yesterday when the custom 40-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7331" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto 40M RPH39.75m (130'5&quot;)Baglietto S.p.A.2020">10232</a> was lowered into the water for the first time. The raised pilothouse design was commissioned by an American client and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/48117" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="New 40m Bozzo-designed superyacht order for Baglietto (2018-02-08 17:10:00 +0100)">first announced</a> in 2018.<img src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/121692/image/large-e0fd35b023de1c889f6b92560e52aed4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/121692">The project is a new development from the ground up, with a new platform to fit the sporty design of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4364" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Horacio Bozzo Design (Company)">Horacio Bozzo</a> with its plumb bow shape and accentuated styling features. Custom Baglieto 10232 yacht launched

The new 40-metre custom Baglietto 10232 motor yacht was launched at the builder's yard in La Spezia this week.

The Italian press has reported that Gavio Group, owner of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">Cerri Cantieri Navali</a> (CCN) and Bertram in the US, will merge its Italian shipyards under the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> brand. The plan, first reported by the daily newspaper La Repubblica, is also to open a European branch of the Tampa-based Bertram brand. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> headquarters in La Spezia, but it will also help to simplify and strengthen brand identity in a busy market, much as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/51" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Perini Navi (Company)">Perini Navi</a> chose to do by merging with Picchiotti. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> can rely on its iconic Flying Seagull logo and more than 160 years of history, whereas <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> has invested heavily in its E-Prop hybrid propulsion (31.2-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7194" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vanadis31.2m (102'4&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2019">Vanadis</a> was the first motor yacht built in Italy to obtain Lloyds’ Hybrid Power certification). Once a builder of fibreglass series yachts, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> has also increasingly diversified into one-off projects in steel and aluminium. &nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/89571/image/large-020ede546073a7d92acf722c080e2d5e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89571">Following the merger, the ‘new’ <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> will have two production plants focused on building superyachts from 30-70 metres in steel, aluminium and composite. The plan is that the former <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> yard in Carrara will build the new hulls while the outfitting and finishing, as well as maintenance and refit works, will be carried out in La Spezia. The hulls will be built in Florida, but they will be fitted out in Italy to reduce duties on importing the finished product from the US. Like all Italian shipyards, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> are <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/coronavirus-yacht-industry-italy" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">currently affected by the coronavirus pandemic</a>. Administrative staff are working from home, but production is continuing for the time being at both facilities. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> has had to delay the launch of two new builds, a 40-metre and 55-metre designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4364" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Horacio Bozzo Design (Company)">Horacio Bozzo</a>, which were scheduled to hit the water over the next few weeks.

The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> yacht brand has withheld an impressive heritage since cruising into the 20th century with their ground-breaking new motor, sport and military boats and the first-ever hydrofoil prototype. Since then, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> has evolved, but the specific qualities that earn a superyacht the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> stamp of approval still ring true. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/57826/image/large-bc4f487868528c4461b609473aa7c16b.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/57826"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/112641/image/large-13354a6c52f88d44f458c5c48263de43.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/112641">From collaborators such as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/586" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Francesco Paszkowski (Company)">Francesco Paszkowski</a>, the designer who has done more than any other to define the brand’s signature aesthetic over the last 25 years, to Project Manager Davide Pistorello, who started in the production department 13 years ago, the expertise of the workforce is certainly one main attribute to the shipyard. The entire workforce was fully engaged in the shipyard’s transition from constructing solely aluminium boats to steel vessels. “<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a>&nbsp;was one of the first to construct aluminium speed boats, and so we expanded to the La Spezia yard to start building bigger boats,” Pistorello explains. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/60461/image/large-5138b56c516e290af9247072325041b9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/60461">The natural evolution of the brand saw that, despite their racing boat heritage, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> was delivering displacement and semi-displacement superyachts. “The market asked us to go into displacement, which has made, in my opinion, our range is quite big and I don’t think we will expand as I know that the top management will keep 70 metres the biggest boat and between 38 and 40 metres the smallest,” he adds. Now with four new-builds under construction at the shipyard, both the in-build 40 and 54-metre signed with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4364" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Horacio Bozzo Design (Company)">Horacio Bozzo</a> are noticeably different from what is usually produced by the historic shipyard, representing a stage of evolution for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> as it expands its portfolio of designers to meet the demands of its international clients. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/104224/image/large-d6f2afd21669c88f2b6f91780936cc96.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/104224">Catering to their clients has not only affected on the type of vessel that carries the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> name, but also the layout. “Clients are asking for a lot of space, the largest tender possible and quality - they always want the ‘wow’ effect. Most clients also look for a very generous owner cabin, and low-levels of noise is important,” notes Pistorello. (Company)">Baglietto</a> has a strategy in place to ensure they are trailblazers for green technology. “We have a lot of meetings discussing eco-technology with our engine manufacturer, who are proposing a new, green version of our engine with electric propulsion. There is something in the works to help reduce the NOx excess, and our technical department along with the regulation body are discovering the right way to implement this strategy. They are also reviewing the costs of electrical propulsion, as batteries may be green, but they are expensive. Everyone is moving towards being eco-friendly and so, we are preparing for three years ahead of time to meet what will be the new generation of propulsion. An American client has commissioned a newly-designed 40-metre motor yacht project from the Italian shipyard Baglietto, it was announced today. Horacio Bozzo is the designer behind this new aluminium Raised Pilothouse project that will be built upon a new fast displacement hull, specially designed for this build.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/25391/image/large-dfe39fff1579db2a42f9125ea3074286.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/25391">Baglietto's 46-metre Lucky Me (2016)The yacht’s sporty and athletic exterior will be matched by a contemporary interior by designer Achille Salvagni.“This new order was received at the beginning of the new year, but is, in fact, the result of a very demanding, and yet extremely satisfying, 2017”, comments Baglietto’s CEO Michele Gavino. “Following the signature of a contract for a 54 m yacht last summer, this is the second fully-custom project we have secured. To build these new yachts, we have developed two platforms capable of meeting the requirements and performance expected by our clients."&nbsp;The new order takes Baglietto’s construction schedule up to five projects, including the recently-announced custom 54-metre project, a 55-metre and 48-metre T-Line motor yacht, as well as a 43-metre Fast Line project.
