Pure Superyacht Refit has completed the all-new MY Paramour; an outstanding CMN 43 metre displacement yacht which has undergone extensive redesign and refurbishment ahead of the 2012 charter season. She was launched last month. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139644/image/large-9c69c619fcc82d775bcfd41d081bdda1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139644">The refit works carried out by the Pure team, headed up by Nic Clarke, now make her one of the most desirable charter yachts in her class due to superior entertainment areas such as the new beach club style sun deck featuring two bars (one with BBQ), large Jacuzzi and dining for twelve, and an extended swim platform. These assets are only normally found on larger, more expensive charter vessels. The appeal of the yacht was demonstrated immediately following the completion of the refit when multiple charter bookings were secured from those eager to experience her newly-created spacious relaxation and recreational spaces. The project has also been deemed a huge success from a performance perspective since initial performance analysis and stability studies have identified that the refit work has led to an increase in these areas – a result that the team at Pure, the Captain and naval architect are extremely happy with. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139645/image/large-21b23fc9e5d6b794c8535f2c0a3c5550.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139645">During the six months of the project the team at Pure carried out primary works including naval architecture and design, a hull extension, paint works, the design and installation of new sundeck layout, furniture and upholstery, and works required for compliance and approval to both Lloyds class and Caymans flag acceptance. The project presented a challenge for the Pure team as the yacht arrived over three weeks later than was originally planned and their work load increased by approximately 42% over the original schedule during the course of the refit. Further obstacles were also encountered when a Lloyds ten year survey highlighted a number of non-conformity issues. Despite these challenges, Pure delivered the yacht six days ahead of the original schedule. Nic Clarke, of Pure, said: “The team have worked painstakingly hard to exceed the client’s expectations and delivering the yacht ahead of schedule, despite the challenges we faced along the way, is a great testament to their commitment and effort.” He continued: “This project was extensive in its scope yet the results speak for themselves. The re-design has opened up a whole new usable space previously not being utilised and will transform how the owner and charter guests will use the vessel. Having enhanced the performance of the yacht as well as the specification throughout, she is now a much more superior vessel than when she arrived. Superyacht Paramour joins Edmiston charter fleet

Pure Superyacht Refit, a specialist independent refit management company based in Palma de Mallorca, finished 2011 on a high note thanks to the successful completion of a number of exciting superyacht projects, and the return of previous clients for refit work over the winter period. As a result, the team at Pure - lead by former professional skipper and project manager, Nic Clarke – is in a buoyant mood, and is looking ahead to various potential projects, ranging from full paint works to major interior refurbishments and serious engineering refits. In July 2011, the arrival of a new 77 metre Feadship, for some finishing works, was promptly followed by 10 year ABS survey, paint, interior and teak works to a 40 metre Heesen. Then, in September, an 80 metre took her berth for complete paint refinish including colour change, and Lloyds 5 year survey. She will remain at the STP (Servicios Técnicos Portuarios) facility, where Pure is based, for a total of six months while the work is completed. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/137884/image/large-4b4b455e9661b375e1be80972394ed03.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130723">The return of two previous clients - a 47 metre Feadship and a 60 metre motor yacht - led Pure onto the major winter project of 43 metre CMN Paramour, which is undergoing a complete engineering refit and face lift. Scheduled for completion in the spring, works to Paramour include a hull plating extension, construction of new swim platform extension, beach club, full re-design of sun deck layout, including built-in Jacuzzi and sun lounging area, two artistically finished bars and seating for twelve guests. Additional to that, a 10-year Lloyds survey, audiovisual upgrade, electrical fittings and services with new shore power converters and seamless transfer, new galley layout and appliances will be carried out. The work will conclude with the replacing of three teak decks and complete superstructure paint, to complement the full hull painting carried out the previous winter. The work is intended to keep this highly desirable and successful charter vessel in pristine condition for the coming season. Major price reduction for superyacht Paramour

When a Dockwise Yacht Transport ship comes to port, people’s heads turn, especially when what looks like a floating marina “sinks” to unload its cargo of superyachts. Over the next week, not one but three Dockwise ships, at full capacity, will arrive at Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., after crossing the Atlantic ocean with collectively over $407,000,000 worth of private, charter and dealer-owned vessels aboard. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/132832/image/large-cb0bfd485e8b988ced71c0293ce1760a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/132832">When the 143’ Bennetti <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1178">Idyllwild</a> floats off the ship, it will head for Rybovich in Palm Beach for a full paint job; then it will sail to the Bahamas, where it will replicate a trip it made last year. “It is one thing to stay in a five-star hotel when you go somewhere, but to stay on a superb superyacht is another,” said <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1178">Idyllwild’s</a> Captain Andre Buhagiar. “Every day you do a little bit by boat and you make your way through the islands. Last year, our guests took jet skis and started from south of the Exumas and made their way up to Nassau while we followed.” Buhagiar added that going on Dockwise allowed the <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1178">Idyllwild</a> to cross the ocean in October, when normally a yacht crossing on its own bottom would wait until later in the season to lessen the chance of encountering dangerous weather. “Many things went into our decision to use Dockwise,” said Buhagiar, emphasizing that allowing the crew “a holiday” was also a benefit. For the charter boat <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/728">Paramour</a>, a 140’ CMN design built in Cherbourg, France and managed by Fraser Yacht Services, a two-week break for the crew figured in greatly after 12 weeks of non-stop chartering in the Mediterranean. “The trip across would have been tedious—14 to 16 days with constant four-hour watches,” said Shaun Preacher, who is responsible for <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/728">Paramour’s</a> management and bookings. “The way the Dockwise ship loads is unique and a lot more practical and safer than going as deck cargo. It saves wear and tear and operating hours on machinery, engines, generators and crew.” <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/132833/image/large-4046e1b5679157d6a320a29c7187b6f5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/132833">Preacher, like every good manager, has done his homework on Dockwise Yacht Transport, which he said Fraser Yachts uses consistently. “Dockwise is an international company; they have a record for the heaviest lift and carry operations. Lauderdale International Boat Show, which takes place October 28th through November 1st.
