Recently launched by Dominator International shipyard, the boldly named Dominator 800 comes from a slightly less explicit background, as the company's CEO Alex Langhein states. “We are one of the more discreet shipyards in the industry” he points out, giving us all the more reason to zoom in on the yard's most recent launch. Despite having built 130 vessels during their strong 16 year history, Dominator still very much aim for unique and bar-raising projects every single time.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154952/image/large-fe8876678d4cf9a7a6a4d17720e69740.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154952">The second hull in a line of sportive and luxurious vessels, the latest addition to the Dominator fleet, Dolly, is vastly different from her predecessor. Aiming to meet the client's needs, one of the various appealing traits of the new 24.5 metre Dominator 800 is her distinctly bespoke look and feel. It's as if she were an individual commission.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154953/image/large-40b1a7cb40b6671631c897f7c99251f5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154953"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154954/image/large-815967ecc9cdfdb5042dfce250a3c136.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154954">Designer Alberto Mancini states he came up with a new layout as requested by the client, whose “main wish was to provide space with a large galley/dining area”. This individual approach also come across in her interior designs, which shows off a “warm and elegant atmosphere and tone on tone colours, with shades of beige, taupe and grey”.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154955/image/large-a6ba64735848eb1c9fc129d353d7fe15.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154955">From start to finish, Dolly's owners were greatly involved in every aspect of the project, resulting in a personal and well thought-out luxury yacht. Commenting on the building process itself, Dominator International's Federico Brumat and Stefano Mondini state: “We strived to adopt a fresh approach and to opt for any solution that could improve the quality. The hull was entirely built by means of vacuum infusion technology. Structures were re-arranged in order to maximise the inner space, this allowed the chance to accommodate different interior layouts.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154956/image/large-9d690ad4b96b14499c1b256e10df43a2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154956">“To seek a reduction of weight both hull sides and the bottom were made up in sandwich laminate, with fibreglass. From the main deck upwards, a carbon and glass hybrid fabric was used and rising up the superstructure the hard top is made entirely of carbon fibre”. Due to the intense collaboration, not merely with the owners but also with their captain, all onboard systems were designed and built as to minimise fuel consumption and maximise comfort and safety.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154957/image/large-720bdf06b01b483044941353f79a1e02.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154957"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154958/image/large-8b565b90350016a132450d6ab17869b5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154958">Dolly's exterior look is sportive and refined, a great combination of aerodynamic lines and a strong, sleek silhouette. She has an overall feel of coziness yet presents an airy, panoramic openness everywhere onboard. Vista views are blended with soft, inviting interiors and spacious deck areas, resulting in a luxury yacht that is subtle and lush at the same time.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154959/image/large-18e38901c49a49b911dd81da83334037.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154959">The main saloon is welcoming and open, with a large lounge blending into a spacious formal dining and galley area fore. Large panoramic windows supply beautiful views and ample natural light, complimenting the refined interior style. Long lines, contemporary minimalism and a soft colour palette are key ingredients.The inviting saloon offers two custom L-shaped Minotti sofas in light ostrich leather, with light woods for floors, walls and cabinetry adding a cool sense of elegance. A great setting for any type of social occasion with a rich style that is never too opulent.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154960/image/large-fb0b598403e961b138b9b1fce7e1d361.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154960">Moving outside through big glass sliding doors, the large aft deck has a big al-fresco dining area combined with a big swimming platform. This offers the perfect setting for day to night relaxation, an area where lounging, stunning views, a refreshing swim and lush hours of sunbathing are always at your fingertips. Upstairs, Dolly continues her ambiance of panoramic luxury with a lush sun deck that offers a bar, big al fresco dining area and several spots to lounge and relax, including a set of sun pads. The fixed top slides up, allowing the entire deck to be covered in shade or bathing in sunshine.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154961/image/large-3cd595e4193fb0c80ffb174c7dacf171.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154961"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154962/image/large-b3eba65da4e2e92a0a2256a364e1ccff.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154962">Dolly's subtle style is continued into the guest suites, as Mancini explains. “Each cabin has been designed together with the owners spending a lot of time on the project and the result is full satisfaction for all. I would say that the interior design is a nice mix of class with warm minimalism. The modern Boiserie of the owner cabin furniture is the perfect example how to use clean lines in wooden surfaces yet can give a very elegant and relaxing atmosphere. In the owner’s bathroom, the matte Botticino marble is the perfect bath top to fix chrome polished taps”. It's all in the details, and Dolly's level of finish is refined.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154963/image/large-8fd625b51664fee4abc18a156c59e188.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154963">The master suite is spacious, light and elegantly chic. Her subtle style is similar to all other interiors, leaving a pleasant sense of continuity everywhere onboard. Contemporary lines and subtle curves, ample light and a soft colour palette are key. The master quarters offer a large stateroom with lounge area, ample storage space and big his and hers en suites with large centrally located shower spa area.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154964/image/large-114a4d4f0f3557491d2f2b4ad4b53f61.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154964">Three additional suites, two twins and one VIP fore, offer luxurious accommodations for all guests. Superyacht of the Week: The Dominator 800 Dolly

Austrian shipyard Dominator Yachts has recently launched the second hull in the Dominator 800 range. Measuring 24.5 metres in total, she is an evolution of the D780, and differs from the inaugural vessel in several ways due to high levels of customisation from the standard offering.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154480/image/large-dfd636fff08d0b597578b51321329e98.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154480">She features interior design by Alberto Mancini, who discusses his experience of collaborating with the owner to achieve exactly what he wished. He says, “The customer’s main wish was to provide space with a large galley/dining area. Interior styling and materials were selected over many months in close contact with the owner and his wife.<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ik-cWTllEBM" width="560"></iframe>“My personal choice which was accepted and which we worked on together was to develop a nice warming and elegant atmosphere, not big contrasts but tone on tone colours, a shade of beige, taupe and grey. The brighter oak brushed painted parquet with the oak painted bulkhead gives immediately a welcoming perception of elegance.”The warm and elegant atmosphere Mancini talks of is evident throughout the yacht, with the main saloon featuring two custom sofas in a light ostrich leather colour and large windows either side of the space that inundate the saloon with natural light.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154481/image/large-feae2ea583cfed3a33b59b3746dde948.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154481">In regards to her performance, she is powered by MAN engines which give her a top speed of 35 knots, and a cruising speed of 24 to 25 knots. At a low speed of 9.5 to 10.5 knots, she has a range of 1,450 nm. She features a brand new propulsion system from Reintjes, the Fortjes 4000; compact and reliable propulsion made of an upper reversing gearbox coupled with a new, advanced gearbox with CR propellers.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154482/image/large-2fa1d757973fbd055776b100dfc990e0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154482">Alex Langhein, CEO of Dominator International, comments on the differences between the first and second hull of the D800, stating; “For each yacht we produce, we always seek to perfect, improve and update. We don’t build 10 of the same specification and then try to find customers for them. When a customer chooses a yacht from our range, we sit down with them and discuss the latest technology.
