Fitzroy’s 38m sailing yacht Escapade for sale

The yacht, Escapade, for sale was delivered in 2014 and has been well maintained throughout her life on the water. 

The 11th edition of the annual Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta held at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo, Sardinia came to an end on Saturday after two compact days of racing on the glistening Costa Smeralda.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/37532/image/large-261562a4f73b62c5dc01967a08e1a44b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/37532"><iframe width="710" height="390" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/g6uRIZZpb8g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" class="fr-draggable"></iframe> Film by&nbsp;<a href="http://www.breedmedia.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">Breed Media</a>Rainy and windless conditions had the fleet waiting in port for the first two days as favourable conditions were expected on the final two days of the event. When racing got underway, however, events took a turn for the worse for two competitors as both<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5553" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Highland Fling XV35.2m (115'6&quot;)">&nbsp;Highland Fling XV</a> and Inouī sustained keel damage after making contact with uncharted reefs.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/37537/image/large-cee8401464036f0964bbe0438d6e4cc5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/37537">The fleet of eight yachts was further reduced to only five after <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/198" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Saudade45.19m (148'3&quot;)">Saudade’s</a> misfortune from the first day of racing (blown kite) continued with more sail trouble that was detected ahead of the start on day two, forcing them to retire to the yacht club. This left everything to win for the 40-metre Baltic Yachts speedster, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5653" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="My Song39.6m (129'11&quot;)">My Song</a>, as she was left as the only competitor in Class A. &nbsp;“I am 'sorry' for the man owners who were unable to attend this edition of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta,”&nbsp;commented Pier Luigi Loro Piana, owner of My Song,&nbsp;“and I take this opportunity to invite them now to the next edition. But it was Hugh Morrison’s 27-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7621" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Savannah27.43m (89'12&quot;)">Savannah</a> from 1996 that walked away with a hat-trick win across all three races of the regatta. "It's great to win here,” commented Morrison,&nbsp;“a wonderful race in the most beautiful place in the world. All the highlights from the 2018 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta

The race committee of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the 2018 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta saved the best for last as the final day of the prestigious event was blessed with perfect sailing conditions like only Porto Cervo can deliver.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/37132/image/large-7180f22f618a86cd95af13f260876291.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/37132">A reduced fleet gathered at the start line as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5553" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Highland Fling XV35.2m (115'6&quot;)">Highland Fling XV</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/4020" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Inoui33.4m (109'7&quot;)">Inouī</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/198" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Saudade45.19m (148'3&quot;)">Saudade</a> had to withdraw from the race due to technical reasons on board. Racing scenes from final day at Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2018

The fleet was greeted with favourable racing conditions on day three of the 2018 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta after two days of no racing in Sardinia due to a lack of wind. The race committee made the most of the conditions and sent the fleet out on the water with two back-to-back races outside Porto Cervo.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/37112/image/large-e319b846ab3b07e88f7389732e53e5e5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/37112">The first course saw the fleet head north on a short but challenging course to start the day. The all-aluminium <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/4573" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Escapade37.5m (123'0&quot;)">Escapade</a> is a 37.5-metre sloop built by Fritzroy in New Zealand for first-time European owners and features sleek lines and a slender silhouette. The larger 46-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/4019" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ganesha46.0m (150'11&quot;)">Ganesha</a> is a Vitters creation that was launched in 2013. A regular on the race course, the yacht is named after the Hindu symbol which is reflected on the yacht’s spinnaker that is so often visible during events on the regatta circuit in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. The two yachts are captured here heading out to sea on the third day of the annual Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta on the island of Sardinia.

The Dubois designed superyachts Escapade and Ganesha

Day one of the 2018 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta got off to a slow start as race proceedings were halted by very light wind conditions over the waters outside Porto Cervo. Spirits remained high, however, and most yachts used the start line banter as a good warmup for the testing conditions that are predicted later this week. LIVE: Saturday race day at Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta 2018

Superyachts are heading to the sunny shores of Sardinia in preparation for the 2018 edition of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta. Organised by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) and hosted in the beautiful setting of Porto Cervo, the event will see four days of exciting competition at sea commence on 5th June.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/36187/image/large-da3cbb6233b2153eac32cf6dcc29ed96.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/36187">This edition of the highly-anticipated event will mark the 11th edition of the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta - with the organisers at the YCCS promising another spectacular race for competitors and spectators alike. No stranger to superyacht regattas, YCCS is one of the most prominent organisers of local and international sailing events in the world. The organisation is completely dedicated to promoting the sport of sailing in all its forms, with the YCCS sailing school welcoming children and adults alike into the world of sailing since 1978.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/36188/image/large-b3248c96453f85ebde4f57a3ec9cd6dd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/36188">A number of impressive sailing superyachts will be participating in the racing action next week, ranging from 27 to just under 50-metres. Although previous editions of the popular regatta have seen a variety of classes participate such as the Wally fleet, this year the YCCS has decided to return to the original concept: a regatta purely for superyachts. This, as Club’s Sports Director Edoardo Recchi explained, is to better serve the needs of the superyacht owners wishing to put their racing machines through their paces.&nbsp;Accompanying the race schedule that will see boats roaring through the small islands in the La Maddalena Archipelago is a fantastic social schedule. Superyachts head to Porto Cervo for the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta

Superyacht of the Week: Fitzroy's 37.5 metre Escapade

Asia Superyacht Rendezvous celebrated it’s fourteenth anniversary last month. Amongst the motor yacht fleet at the event were the 55 metre Samax, superyacht Moon Sand, the 73 metre Titania and the 51 metre Northern Sun. Four sailing yachts also graced the waters of Kata Bay where the event was held, including Si Datu Bua, Yanneke Too, Sunshine and the recently launched Escapade.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152226/image/large-8a71b9ca861f2d90b89bc5419984eec1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152226">Gordon Fernandes of Asia Pacific Superyachts co-organises the Rendezvous with Captain Charles Dwyer. He comments, “The growth in the number of superyachts coming to Asia has been phenomenal, especially over the last three years. Our aim has always been to promote the fun side of yachting so this event offers owners and crew the chance to bond and share their love of yachts in a relaxed environment while making the most of stunning location.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152227/image/large-80fb93aab0f68398606d19d6c100b58a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152227">Kata Rocks resort in Phuket provided the perfect venue for sophisticated celebrations, and on the second evening of this years Rendezvous, played host to the famous Feadship Challenge where teams of owners and crew gather to build model sailboats in 40 minutes which are then put to the test in troughs of water. The crew of Samax were eventually announced the winners after a heated rematch.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152228/image/large-427c35b27c79ed037fd02d20dde99742.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152228">The Gala Dinner took place on the evening of the final day, prepared by Kata Rocks Executive Chef Steve. Gordon Fernandes comments, “With more high-end resort developments like Kata Rocks being built on Phuket, more superyachts are attracted to the island. Owners can party at a Phuket beach club, go diving in the Similan islands or find total peace and seclusion cruising to Myanmar’s Mergui archipelago just up the coast. Fourteenth anniversary of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous

The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous will be celebrating its 14th year this December 16-18, showcasing some of the most spectacular yachts in the region.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151922/image/large-7fc3adb71c61ed490493ef3ce05a5676.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/151922">The largest yacht in this year's fleet is the Lürssen Titania. The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous lineup

The 37.5 metre fast cruising sloop Escapade was delivered to her owners earlier this year, who are now well underway with a world cruise. She features an interior from Design Unlimited and was built by Fitzroy Yachts in New Zealand. The yacht is the first for these European owners and is an aluminium design with a fixed keel.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/150098/image/large-eef986c1d928f3f3ba43240ec15b9a44.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/150098">She features a raised saloon and a fixed bimini over the cockpit, which has mechanically operated sliding windows. Award winning shipyard Fitzroy Yachts has announced that they have signed an order for a new 37.5 metre fast cruising sloop. Designed by Dubois Naval Architects, with an interior by Design Unlimited, the yacht is being built for European owners, and she will be their first yacht. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/138962/image/large-02a090edaae3a134195df71388a6c237.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/138962">The yacht, to be known by her hull number FY17, is an all aluminium design, with a fixed keel. She features a raised saloon and a fixed bimini over the cockpit, which will have mechanically operated sliding windows. The master cabin and two guest staterooms will be located aft; with a 4th cabin, come day room, galley and crew space forward. Her strong clean lines will make her a striking sight on the water, while her top performance levels will make her a worthy competitor on the regatta scene.Having chartered sailing yachts extensively in the past FY17’s discerning owners undertook a gruelling two-year research process in order to find the best yard to build their yacht. “Fitzroy Yachts is known for its award winning superyachts and we are delighted that after compiling a shortlist of some of the top builders in the world, the owner recognised Fitzroy Yachts as the best builder for the job,” said Rodney Martin, MD of Fitzroy Yachts.On signing the contract for the new order the owners praised Fitzroy Yachts as being “easily the most proactive,” of those yards invited to bid on the project, great to deal with, open to ideas, participative, and highly professional - all wrapped in first class facilities.FY17’s owners are two of a growing group that see the value in Fitzroy Yachts fully custom yard. “It is really important to us to be able to focus entirely on the few projects we are working on. It’s the only way to provide the high quality and personal service that these projects demand and deserve,” said Martin. “Allowing our owners to be involved and enjoy the construction process is one of the most important aspects of a successful build for us,” he continued.FY17’s owners, who are planning several visits to the yard throughout the build, concur. “We never imagined we would build a boat, but we are enjoying the process so much we are already talking about building another,” they said.The yard expects to begin cutting plate on FY17 in May, with delivery set for early 2014.
