Superyacht Ninkasi in Naples

The 42-metre motor yacht was built by Holland Jachtbouw and launched in 2010 as Calliope. Her traditional exterior is by Langan Design Associates, while Rhoades Young Design is the studio behind <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1150" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ninkasi42.28m (138'9&quot;)">Ninkasi's</a> elegant interior. The vessel <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/44438" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Superyacht Calliope sold (2015-06-16 00:00:00 +0200)">changed hands</a> in 2015 where after she acquired her new name.

Outside she boasts expansive decks, alfresco dining, a Jacuzzi, as well as a great selection of water toys.The yacht was for sale, asking €19,500,000.

First superyachts arrive for the Monaco Yacht Show 2014

Langan’s design brief was to scale up Cassiopeia by adding range. More exterior living areas and two additional staterooms while keeping the look of a traditional yacht. Calliope is a 43 metre, semi-displacement motor yacht launched in the summer of 2010 by Holland Jachtbouw, she’s spent her first few weeks cruising the Fjords of Norway. Her splendid interior by Rhoades Young has been laid out and styled to the owners requirements and is perfect for formal entertaining as well as relaxing in comfort.The star points of the design are in the three decks and a blue hull, the profile was to be masculine rather than a swoopy profile, according to the late Bill Langan, who sadly died on 31st December 2010.The client was delighted with the quality that he had perceived and experienced during his extensive cruising on Cassiopeia and was determined to invest even more money and time in pushing the window further in terms of upgrading the technical aspects of his new project.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133677/image/large-efbe4b205be5b37a3a581d346224b5f8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133677">The interior of Calliope was inspired by the idea of juxtaposing an elegant classical architecture with carefully chosen modern furniture. Working closely with the owner, Rhoades Young developed a classic language for the cabins by taking the inspiration of French Chateau architecture with its elegant curves and flowing lines and rationalising it into a calm but rich background on which the loose furniture sits.The wood for the cabins is a weathered limed oak, which whilst looking beautifully finished allows you to appreciate the grain and life of the timber, lending a rich patina and life to the interior. The loose furniture for the yacht has been custom designed by Rhoades Young and is designed for its specific location and use. It has an eclectic feel encompassing everything from large slabs of slate and oiled sleepers in the saloon to finely detailed rosewood desks in the owner's library completing the relaxed and informal feel onboard.The most unusual central feature of the yacht is a pair of offset reverse spiral staircases, which create a dynamic connection to the three decks. By offsetting the stairs Rhoades Young has created vistas up through the sweeping undersides of the steps creating a dramatic centrepiece to the yacht and a testament to the quality of craftsmanship onboard.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133678/image/large-14dee3349cd475785178989c4b991349.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133678">At the base of the staircase is the lower guest accommodation arranged symmetrically around the circular lower lobby in four cabins. The cabins use the curve of the staircase to create soft curved geometries mirrored by curved desks outboard with cleverly designed bathrooms which create the illusion of space by extending eyelines and creating focal points of art.The main deck consists of a lower saloon and dining area, with a hidden sliding shoji screen separating the two spaces for a more intimate dining experience. This area epitomises the delicate balance of classic architecture and modern furniture through which Rhoades Young hope to create a very relaxed and comfortable area in which to watch the world go by. The Owners cabin is forward of the main lobby with a private library, full beam lounge area and separate bathrooms with attached walk-in wardrobes. This area is flooded with light from the large portlights and creates a strong visual connection to the world outside.On the bridge deck, the interior changes to teak. The upper saloon utilizes full beam folding sliding doors to create a strong connection to the outside deck blurring the division between interior and exterior spaces. The furniture has more of an Indonesian feel and the resulting area is designed to be a relaxed informal area perfect for balmy summer evenings at anchor.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133679/image/large-fa7db387f9bcd7f2191480946866311b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133679">Forward of the upper saloon lobby is the Captain’s cabin and bridge. The latter includes a ship's office, which can be separated by a sliding screen. A raised seating area is designed to match the eyeline of the helm seats affording good views out and allowing the seats to swivel to become a flexible social area. As with the remainder of the yacht the bridge has a juxtaposition of styles with classic teak architecture and a highly modern forward bridge console finished in leather and Rosewood with floating screens.Above the bridge deck is an expansive sun deck, made possible by locating the owner’s dinghy on the foredeck. The sun deck features a Jacuzzi as the focal point surrounded with seating and large sun pads for comfortable relaxation. CNI’s Charter Marketing Department has announced a selection of new Central Agency appointments to the CNI charter fleet. The 42m (138’) Calliope was launched from the Holland Jachtbouw yard earlier this summer and has spent her first few weeks cruising through the fjords of Norway. Holland Jachtbouw recently launched a 42-metre, semi-displacement motoryacht for repeat clients. Designed and built to Lloyds and MCA, this project reaffirms the shipyard’s ability to create bespoke powerboats of the highest calibre. Holland Jachtbouw launches 42 metre superyacht

Cassiopeia II is a 43 metre, semi-displacement motor yacht under construction at Holland Jachtbouw. Wishing to upgrade from his current 32m yacht Cassiopeia I, Rhoades Young have been appointed as interior architects for this new vessel for an American client. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/130525/image/large-74ed4848bdf0b7b3b1f182176131ba9d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130525">The company describes the interior for the new <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1150">Cassiopeia</a> as “elegant classic with a contemporary twist”. Rather than a typical lacquered yacht interior the architecture of the cabins is of classic limed oak which combined with sensuous Italian styling gives a light and airy formal architecture with a depth of finish reminiscent of chateaus and period furniture. This classic architecture is juxtaposed with very modern loose furniture and soft furnishings. HJB, the new name for Holland Jachtbouw, has unveiled its brand-new construction facility at a spectacular ceremony attended by hundreds of personnel and invited guests from around the world. From the deck of the gigantic schooner Athos, a canon blast revealed the yard’s new logo and slogan, ‘Where can we take you’. Athos will be the first yacht to be completed in the new assembly and finishing hall, which measures 69 x 20 metres and is fitted with the very latest technical equipment and logistics. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/124519/image/large-b9fa009174966a0ea177f5c7da9e144f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/124519">April 4, 2008 will go down as a landmark in the history of luxury yachtbuilding. Leading members of the industry gathered in the afternoon at the HJB yard near Amsterdam for a private tour and presentation by the HJB management team. Yard founder Chris Gongriep looked back at how groundbreaking yachts such as his own Windrose of Amsterdam, had brought Holland Jachtbouw global prominence. Managing Director Paul Dielemans then explained how he, Tako van Ineveld (Production Director) and Arjen Zijlmans (Technical Director) have taken the yard forward since a management buy-out two years ago. “Our goal is to lead the industry in terms of quality in our chosen sector of sailing yachts and motorboats under 500GT,” Dielemans explained. “This is being achieved via the implementation of the World Class Manufacturing (WCM), a process that standardises production and gives staff ownership over quality. Our new facilities were therefore designed by our personnel, who used all their practical experience to create this superlative new hall and the adjacent three-story workshops and support divisions.” <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/124520/image/large-a659e94a55ea94da8167f793b851dd10.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/124520">Dielemans also announced plans to upgrade the existing construction hall (45 x 20 metres) to the same state of the art before the arrival of a new 42-metre motoryacht project in the summer. He and his co-directors then gave their audience a tour of the yard, <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/21">Athos</a> and the 43-metre motoryacht <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/197">Life Saga</a>, which has just completed a spectacular 18-month refit at HJB. Hundreds more guests came to the yard in evening for the official opening ceremony and a well-deserved party.

New facilities herald dawn of a new era for HJB

Holland Jachtbouw has announced the signing of the contract for a 42-metre, semi-displacement motoryacht. This all-aluminium ‘gentlemen’s yacht’ will have a cruising speed of 15.5 knots, with exterior design and naval architecture by Langan Design. Her European cherry interior will come from the boards of Dick Young Designs. The yacht has been ordered by a repeat client with very specific demands in terms of customisation and quality, and no desire to compromise by taking the semi-custom or series yacht route. Scheduled for delivery in October 2009, the yacht will be built to Lloyds and MCA regulations. “The fact that this project will be built for an existing client is very satisfying,” comments Holland Jachtbouw Managing Director Paul Dielemans. “We are delighted when owners are so pleased with the quality and performance of their previous yacht that they choose to partner with us again. It is also a great chance for the yard to build upon an existing relationship and create a new yacht to the next level of sophistication, putting both the owner’s and our own experiences into practice.” At just under 500 GT, the project matches Holland Jachtbouw’s preferred position in the motoryacht market. “This type of fully customised powerboat puts clear water between our yard and the competition,” Dielemans continues. “Along with the recent order of the 62-metre schooner Athos, it shows that Holland Jachtbouw’s business plan is in sync with the demands of sailing and motoryacht connoisseurs alike.
