“Building a superyacht is a major undertaking; the average 50m project requires around 39,000 man-hours to build,” says David Westwood, Managing Director at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4547" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TWW Yachts (Company)">TWW Yachts</a>. “The complexity of these projects really can’t be understated.” <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289877/image/large-e710b29dd3724621cb9d5c49269e9c1f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289877">Trust and assurance are paramount; unlike nearly every other product or service, a client who takes a superyacht to build has to wait, on average, between 3–5 years to measure success. A client might place faith in the portfolio of their chosen builder and designer, but every project is unique – and getting it “right” should be subjective to their specific needs, especially for a (semi) custom project.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289878/image/large-89c34c3d76d217f017d384537d417507.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289878"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4547" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TWW Yachts (Company)">TWW Yachts</a> has delivered seven superyachts in the past twelve months, including the 49.9-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1661" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tankoa Yachts S.p.A. (Company)">Tankoa</a>. “Stepping on board <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10624" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grey49.99m (164'0&quot;)Tankoa Yachts S.p.A.2023">Grey</a> you feel like you’re on a much larger yacht; she has great flow and all the redundant spaces have been done away with,” says Westwood. “We chose different frequency convertors, more advanced equipment and better insulation as the owner is very sensitive to noise and vibrations. Our operational experience coupled with the designer’s and shipyard’s know-how proved a heady mix.” <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289879/image/large-10b747be42d7c669c7dcddd3e242d0bf.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289879">But above all else, it’s the bow lounge onboard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10624" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grey49.99m (164'0&quot;)Tankoa Yachts S.p.A.2023">Grey</a> that’s unforgettable. “Clarity of sound and quality of picture were two key requirements for this project and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10624" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grey49.99m (164'0&quot;)Tankoa Yachts S.p.A.2023">Grey</a> is perhaps the second or third superyacht in the world to be fitted with a fully retractable, waterproof external C Seed television. It has daylight visibility and you can watch a movie or stream sports at any time of day, without any impact on quality,” says Westwood. “The Focal audio system is also phenomenal, and we oversaw an extensive study to optimise the onboard acoustics.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289875/image/large-3db1a69583e4721128aff2f81cdf07eb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289875">The story is very similar to the second unit from the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/570" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Admiral (Company)">Admiral</a> S-Force 55 series, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10188" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Star55.2m (181'1&quot;)Admiral2023">Silver Star</a>. From a technical standpoint, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10188" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Star55.2m (181'1&quot;)Admiral2023">Silver Star</a> is more advanced than <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5727" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Geco55.2m (181'1&quot;)Admiral2020">Geco</a>. “Onboard tech was very important for this client and they wanted nothing short of the best,” Westwood continues. “When building a new yacht it doesn’t just need to be future-proofed for delivery, it needs to be relevant and desirable 5 years later when an owner is likely to consider selling her.” <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4547" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TWW Yachts (Company)">TWW Yachts</a> has ensured that both <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10188" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Star55.2m (181'1&quot;)Admiral2023">Silver Star</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10624" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Grey49.99m (164'0&quot;)Tankoa Yachts S.p.A.2023">Grey</a> will stand the test of time.&nbsp;A good project management team also helps maximise enjoyment for the client. “Building a superyacht might be a major undertaking, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be fun,” says Westwood. “Owners like to be involved, they enjoy the process. But it’s important that they don’t feel they’ve become part of the team by picking up administrative and technical tasks. The project manager acts as an intermediary between the client and shipyard, ensuring joy and peace of mind.”No truer is this than during the “make or break” transitional period that spans the last 5 percent of a build to the end of the first year of ownership. “It’s arguably the most important and memorable part of the build. You’ll either make a client extremely happy or lose them,” says Westwood. “The last months before delivery is when everything comes together – not only on the yacht itself but also all the necessary and legal bureaucracy for operations.”All the loose furnishings, cutlery, crockery and artwork will be added to the yacht, at the same time surveyors and lawyers will be making their inspections. Banking systems will be set up, the crew will be found and all the necessary equipment and provisioning, from medical kits and spare parts to deep-freeze supplies, will be finalised. It’s busy.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289873/image/large-4385a06c3565264ebb7e1154f2fa8c81.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289873"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289874/image/large-af60bc176eebe02ddc9fff0d360ddece.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289874">“We’re about to deliver the second <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> B.Now 50m Oasis Deck, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/11043" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Alunya49.9m (163'9&quot;)Benetti SpA2023">Alunya</a>, to a client who wants to get underway immediately upon delivery – any day later is a day lost from their maiden voyage,” says Westwood. “As we’ve been involved since early on in the project our team has been able to pick up on all potential issues long in advance, ensuring our clients receive their yacht precisely when promised.”When it comes to unsuspected issues, refits and rebuilds can be like opening Pandora’s Box. “We recently delivered the 50.4-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a> <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/853" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Emerald50.4m (165'4&quot;)Feadship1990">Emerald</a> that undertook a major rebuild at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/434" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Balk Shipyard (Company)">Balk Shipyard</a>. The team were brilliant, but, of course, there were surprises with the project – it’s to be expected when you strip a 30-year-old yacht,” reflects Westwood. “Our team was on hand to ensure that the client received their yacht for this season and that they enjoyed the whole experience.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289880/image/large-528b5436485d9fc18379d98a4706b602.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289880">No two refits are the same and as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/853" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Emerald50.4m (165'4&quot;)Feadship1990">Emerald</a> hit the water, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4547" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TWW Yachts (Company)">TWW Yachts</a> resold the 52-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/374" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sanlorenzo (Company)">Sanlorenzo</a> <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/8192" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="RMF52.0m (170'7&quot;)Sanlorenzo2022">RMF</a>, which immediately undertook a refit in a compressed three-month period. “She was a new yacht built for a different client and wasn’t reflective of the new owner’s tastes and needs,” says Westwood. “We quickly put together a team and got to work. It had its own set of challenges but our team ensured a smooth transformation.”Management doesn’t stop at delivery though, and owners can benefit greatly from hiring a third party to oversee the operations of their yacht – banking, procedures, legislation, etc. “We use a tailored cloud-based system for each yacht we’re managing, which allows for 24/7 access,” Westwood explains. “ The level of service we offer is scalar and dependent upon needs, but each of our clients has a dedicated yacht manager and DPA and a wealth of knowledge pooled from our team as needed.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/289876/image/large-5b4421cb9fae6fefcc72e248e6edb1d0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/289876">“I’m incredibly proud of the team Michael White and I have built at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4547" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="TWW Yachts (Company)">TWW Yachts</a>,” Westwood adds. “The entire team is committed, passionate and incredibly knowledgeable. Wooden French boiseries, luxury Italian marbles and bronzed metal details throughout the yacht are just some of the high-end materials used to add a sense of luxury “but without a wild effect, she was never intended to be a ‘showboat’,” he adds. &nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180958/image/large-9aa3dcbf672bd8cb369bf9b25246ce02.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180958"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180956/image/large-90ecffb22913d177142bb43772ff9bc0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180956"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180947/image/large-97549eb73e4f05ba04e6545acb9f5ea8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180947">Three shades of greyShades of grey and bright aluminium silver were chosen for the exterior colour. The result? “On one side it is relaxing and on the other side it’s startling.” The exterior colour palette was made to cleverly emphasise the fluidity of her design.&nbsp;“The idea was to create a huge continuation between interior and exterior. It was a request from the owner but also for me as a representative of the shipyard, it was important for me to closely link the exteriors and interiors, especially on this size of yacht.” <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180943/image/large-3bf2153d4d9b4927c99a86cbfa3c4d16.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180943"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180944/image/large-aa491164567b26d06f7cf3b4960a3691.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180944">Small, sustainable details inspired by nature&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5727" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Geco55.2m (181'1&quot;)Admiral2020">Geco</a>’s name isn’t the only nature-inspired element evident in the design. Marco tells SuperYacht Times, “In the beach club, you will see there is glass on the side of the platform. This glass wall is a similar design to a shark's gills.” He goes on to describe how “the yacht’s design is a mix of automotive and nature styled inspiration” and marine creatures influenced his style choices for the bow, exterior lines and in the superstructure and the upper deck exhaust was reminiscent of a supercar.Nature served up serious inspiration, so it makes sense that the designers made an effort to pursue a sustainable design process too. “We used materials that are treated without any chemical processes. The paints, the finishes on the fabrics, they are all made sustainably,” says Marco.&nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180963/image/large-91a65121a6502883f2578f5e0a868ef1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180963"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180982/image/large-18f33f3b84970a919b7e73e747130161.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180982"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/180966/image/large-a4e8ecf57c38f264b675115e9431a242.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/180966">Connected to the outdoors&nbsp;To make the most of the outdoors, guests can use the upper deck and its multi-functional design to create an indoor or outdoor lounge and dining area. “On this type of yacht it is very important that the inner spaces are like an extension of the outdoor areas,” Marco says. The result was what Marco describes as a “revolutionary concept.” “We worked very much on the sun deck, which was not present from the very beginning, and we completely changed the aft. Last week, the new 55.2-metre Admiral motor yacht Geco left the Italian Sea Group yard at Marina di Carrara and soon arrived at its berth in Athens.

More details have been revealed of the in-build 55.2-metre yacht Geco, as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/570" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Admiral (Company)">Admiral</a> gears up for her 2020 delivery. The yacht has an exterior design by the Italian shipyard's in-house team, who developed the interior design with the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5565" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="The Italian Sea Group (Company)">Italian Sea Group</a>.<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/15" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vripack (Company)"></a><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2445" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Dobroserdov Design (Company)"></a><img src="/uploads/store/photo/110198/image/large-614b5f765fa3e5d7ee152f7e937fb651.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/110198">Soon to be available for charter with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/244" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="IYC (Company)">IYC</a> as of June 2020, Geco was designed with social interaction in mind and will include a Buddha bar lounge area, several alfresco dining locations and a large beach club area with a dining space for up to six guests by the water’s edge. New renders of Admiral’s in-build 55m superyacht Geco revealed

Admiral, a brand from the Italian Sea Group, has announced the sale of the new 55-metre superyacht S-Force. Slated for delivery in early 2020, the buyer was introduced by IYC. &nbsp; Featuring an exterior styling by Gian Marco Campanino from Admiral, her exteriors include terraces which overlook the sea, thanks to the sufficient amount of space offered on every deck. &nbsp;“We are extremely proud to have sold this yacht that will definitely take Admiral to the next level, reaffirming the positive trend of the Group," said Giuseppe Taranto, Vice Chairman of the Italian Sea Group. "This 55-metre project will surely catch the eye thanks to her unique and captivating design totally developed in-house. We are also very happy of our state-of-the-art shipyard’s production in Carrara-Italy with most of the constructions exceeding 50 meters in length.”&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/48668/image/large-e0594743f96a17bcefd210ed545b9199.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/48668">Her interiors, developed by Admiral and the Italian Sea Group, feature sophisticated furnishings, with special attention paid to the abundance of natural light from the large windows. S-Force is able to accommodate up to 12 guests in four well-appointed suites, including a full beam VIP on the lower deck and a full beam master suite with a private studio on the main deck. Separate access for the crews allows for even more discretion while servicing the guests. Stand out features on S-Force include a large circular area entertainment area on the upper deck which can also be used as a touch-and-go helipad, a large beach platform which can be used as a dining area by night and a spacious garage, capable of holding an 8-metre tender. &nbsp;Consisting of a full aluminium, semi-displacement hull, she powered by twin CAT C32 Acer diesel engines and capable of cruising at a maximum cruising speed of 18 knots.

Admiral announces the sale of the 55-metre superyacht S-Force

Admiral has today announced that it will be building a new high-volume 75-metre motor yacht that is scheduled for delivery in 2021.  Admiral to build new 75m superyacht project

The traditional keel laying ceremony of two new superyachts, the Admiral E Motion 52 and the Admiral E Motion 55, recently took place in the Italian Sea Group renewed yard in Marina di Carrara, marking the official start to construction.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/148231/image/large-8412dc9839747e6275154b27b399a908.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/148231">The yachts in build are part of the Admiral E Motion Series; full displacement yachts built in aluminium and designed by Dobroserdov Design in close cooperation with the Admiral in house Centro Stile.The Admiral E Motion 55 has a Gross Tonnage of 850 GRT and she will deliver a maximum speed of 17 knots. The Admiral E Motion 52 features a gross tonnage of 499 GRT and thanks to the 4 MAN engines configuration and the hybrid system, is able to deliver a maximum speed of 25 knots.
