With the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023 drawing closer, SYT takes a look at some of the yachts available to purchase at this year’s show.

Imperial recently announced their second significant superyacht sale in the space of just one week, the 43.12-metre Elsea built by Italyachts in 2011. On the market for just three months, she follows the sale of the 47-metre Heesen-built Ariadna last week, which was also sold with a relatively rapid turnaround of just six months.

We caught up with Director at Imperial, Julia Stewart, who shed some light on the latest news at the company.

 

This is the second large sale in the space of just one week for Imperial. What's the secret to your success? 
	Elsea was under Imperial’s management and was in excellent condition. All yachts under Imperial’s management sell quickly - proven by the remarkable sale of Ariadna the week before Elsea’s sale, who entered the market only six months ago. Generally, Imperial’s vessels for sale go fast and our latest records prove it!

Elsea was also sold very quickly. She was first presented for sale at the MYS 2016 and it’s a remarkable achievement to have sold her in so short a period. Our quality is recognisable on board any single vessel we manage, and experienced owners as superyacht lovers immediately recognise this quality: an Imperial managed vessel is, above all, a pampered yacht.

What can you attribute the rapid turnaround of both of these boats to? 
	Marketing is important and we created for both of them a tailored communication based on their respective qualities. Our knowledge, the quality of our partners and our excellent understanding of each superyacht authorised us to develop new ideas around these listings, we needed to create a new “atmosphere” around them. Fortunately, these programs and choices we applied worked!

The 43m superyacht Elsea finds new owner

Here we take a look at the What, Why, Where and Who of some of the best brokerage deals currently on the market. This week we explore the 43 metre superyacht Elsea, currently for sale with Imperial Yachts.

What is on offer?

Built by Ital Yachts and completed in 2011, the 43.12 metre superyacht Elsea features both naval architecture and exterior design from Andrea Bacigalupo, whilst her luxurious interiors come from the drawing boards of Cristiano Gatto Design.

On board she accommodates up to nine guests over a four cabin layout, consisting of a large full beam master suite, a generous VIP stateroom, a double cabin and a twin cabin with an additional Pullman berth, all of which are en suite. A crew of seven are also accommodated for on board. Powered by triple MTU 16V 2000 engines, which drive her SII Kamewa 71BII Kamewa Boosters, she has a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots.

 

Why do we think this is such a great deal?

Elsea has been thoroughly maintained throughout her lifetime and is in turn-key condition. Her generous exteriors are adapted to her impressive performances, and include a Jacuzzi and comfortable lounging area on the sun deck. Her main deck comfortably seats up to eight for the very best of al-fresco dining, with sun pads found aft completing the ideal area to relax and socialise.

Inside she has a comfortable and warm atmosphere, with Cristiano Gatto utilising ebony and leather throughout. Amongst her selection of tenders and toys on board is a 5.3 metre Castoldi water jet tender, two Seadoo GX150’s, two Cayago F7 Seabobs, and a wide array of towable and inflatable toys.

Elsea is currently located in the South of France and is available to view by appointment only. Elsea will also be on display at the upcoming edition of the Monaco Yacht Show at the end of this month.

Brokerage deal of the week: the 43m superyacht Elsea

The Ital Yachts 43 Elsea underway

An extremely sophisticated, high-performance yacht deserves the very best stabilization system. After its first successful Seakeeper installation, boatbuilder Rodriguez Group knew the gyros would be a must on future projects. Most recently, three M21000 gyros were installed on Elsea, a new Italyachts 43m.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/137484/image/large-eb3812e5e4c8cad6298db7e29c935586.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/137484">Half fly, half-hardtop, Elsea is representative of a new yacht class, Sportfly. And fly she does, with a cruising speed of 30 knots and top speed of 35 knots. Stabilization while underway is key for such a fast vessel. Whether cruising through the seas or at anchor, Seakeeper's gyros level the boat for a smooth ride. After sea trials in Viareggio, Italy and St. Tropez, France, the gyros achieved greater than 75% resonant roll reduction. From previous experience, Elsea's captain, Jonathan Stone, is quite enthusiastic about Seakeeper. "The gyros work well at reducing roll at speed, at anchor and in port in Monaco. The owner is very happy with the result, and we are looking at installing Seakeepers on other vessels he owns. In contrast to fins, gyros don't produce a jerky movement, installation is easier, they don't occupy as much space and are almost plug-and-play. In addition, silence at anchor is a huge factor for me. The gyros themselves are silent," said Stone. "This is fantastic when guests are on the swim platform." Capt. Stone further explained why gyros are preferred on yachts like Elsea. "Comfort is a top priority, along with the ability of the crew to carry out their duties," he said. "We were at anchor for several days in Portisco, Sardinia, an area famous for being buzzed by other large craft. The gyros worked so well I was never asked if the stabilizers were on". "We received Seakeeper's full support from design to commissioning," said Myriam Religieux, Rodriguez Group marketing assistant. With only a compact space to work with at about 127cm L x 140cm W x 91cm H, "the three gyros perfectly matched the technical space available on the aft side of the boat." Designed for larger yachts, the M21000 draws only 3kW. A forged, high-strength steel flywheel spins at 4,000 rpm in a near vacuum, generating an impressive 21,000 Newton meter seconds of angular momentum.
