The Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta 2023 will be returning in June for its 16th edition, held in the glorious waters surrounding Sardinia. Portofino Regate di Primavera 2023 is an invitation-only sailing event filled with some of the best-known Italian boat manufacturers. The regatta returns in June, and will include all of the traditional events, as well as a few new ones. The season’s most important event, the Rolex Giraglia, comprises three days of inshore racing from Sanremo/Saint-Tropez to Genoa.

Admiral Sail - a brand of the Italian Sea Group - last night announced the sale of the 38 metre sailing superyacht Wave. Set for delivery in early 2018, she will be the very first Admiral Sail vessel constructed entirely in aluminium.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156274/image/large-02e907d64867b21ca147df3cbfac63ad.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156274">She will feature carbon rig, lifting keel, and captive reel systems for the all sail plan, as well as generous internal volumes. Guests will be accommodated in four cabins on the lower deck as well as a large owner’s suite.On the main deck the central cockpit is lowered and almost at the same level of the main saloon; the cockpit is well protected by an integral hardtop with openings on the roof and windscreen. This area can be enclosed further with side sliding glass. Going forward, the deck is all flush and hides a large garage for tenders and toys.Chairman of the Group, Giovanni Costantino, comments on the vessel and what it means for the industry, stating “This new build will certainly bring a new soul in this market.” Francesco Carbone, Vice Chairman and Sales Director, continues, commenting, “This sale clearly marks the focus of the Italian Sea Group on sailing superyachts which remain a niche but with interesting potential we cannot ignore.”The Wave Series from Admiral Sail consists of the Wave 38, 48 and 60 metre, all designed by Philippe Briand. The Italian Sea Group has launched a new brand of yachts with the renowned watchmaker, Franck Muller. The Italian Sea Group launches Franck Muller Yachts

Launched in 2014, the 24 metre superyacht Gigreca is the very first vessel to be launched from the Italian Sea Group’s new sailing yacht division, Admiral Sail, marking the beginning of a new semi-custom sailing range. Showcased at the latest Monaco Yacht Show, she has been constructed in fibreglass and features naval architecture from Jacques Faroux and exterior design by De Benedetti &amp; Fiordi in collaboration with the in house team at Admiral Sail Centro Stile. Our team joined the yacht for a seatrial two weeks ago in Italy.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152707/image/large-30bf4e8b6b7d96a6a4081e25aa90a673.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152707">The series offers a high level of customisation both inside and out, something in which the owner’s of Gigreca have clearly utilised in the fully custom hard top constructed from aluminium and glass. In addition, her hull also exhibits the personality of her new owners, with a dark metallic grey colour with dark red waterline stripes. The superstructure is painted beige while the hard top, aft rollbar and spars adhere to the same colour scheme of the hull.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152708/image/large-bb8c746290e52f92f093106d4d2aedd9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152708">Inside her interiors are extremely spacious and inundated with natural light from large windows throughout, giving her a bright, airy and welcoming atmosphere. The galley is attached to the saloon in order to form a large open space, and uses precious materials such as marble, onyx and a selection of specially worked on light, natural leathers, creating the ideal environment to relax, entertain, socialise and enjoy the best of on board living.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152717/image/large-e76e40570b7670aa5a008d71d56b6cff.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152717">The vast volumes seen throughout her interiors are equally matched when heading to her outside areas, with most of the rigging hidden below deck. This leaves large areas dedicated to sunbathing, relaxation and dining, offering the opportunity to enjoy the very best of al fresco dining whilst encompassed by spectacular views. The central cockpit, at deck level, is split into two areas; aft is dedicated to the steering wheel stations and maneuvering, whilst forward is organised for guests, featuring a double teak and stainless steel table, an ample fridge and plenty of lounge areas besides the companionway.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152718/image/large-856e70e691b46e696d5bc496f47c98fd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152718"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152719/image/large-f44d28b2b0a2a5fa8cc6eb09d331aae5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152719">Aft of the steering wheels, a flush deck area can be filled with cushions for sunbathing and relaxation, and from this area is the deck access to the opening transom and garage. The garage itself is one of the key features of the yacht, and is one of the largest garages to be found on a yacht of this size. Her size means that she is capable of hosting one water jet tender up to 3.2 metres in length, as well as a jet ski.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152720/image/large-d1888ecf68570526a79546565f50265a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152720">With regards to rig and sail handling the yacht can be easily sailed by a couple without the need of an actual crew, everything being ‘push button’ operated, and catering to the owners desire to sail the yacht himself with the help of his family. The standard carbon boom can host an in-boom furling main which can be operated from the two pedestals with an electric system, while the mainsheet has two fixed points on the aft rollbar and it’s managed by a magic trim, concealed below deck at mast level.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152721/image/large-174631bb12ab0c89d803a6f103d33a6c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152721">The non-overlapping standard foresail features an auto-tacking system which is served by a traveler and uses one halyard only to be operated. All the other halyards run below deck too, in order to leave flushed and clean side passages. The same concept has been followed while designing the foredeck, which is totally free from obstacles and features flush to deck ports and hatches, rollaway stemhead, cleats and fairleads, plus a towing winch that disappears below deck when not in use.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/152722/image/large-4be43bef5e7c91a64b592848d7fed567.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/152722">One of her additional unique features is her double engine configuration as opposed to the standard single engine seen in most other similar sailing yachts, allowing a fast performance without the compromise of performance under sail.
