Launched in 2006 in Germany by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2419" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Fassmer (Company)">Fassmer</a>, the vessel was originally constructed with the primary purpose of serving as a training vessel. In 2020, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3875" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hanse Explorer47.76m (156'8&quot;)Fassmer2006">Hanse Explorer</a> underwent a thorough refit, significantly elevating her expedition capabilities and establishing higher standards for global expeditions. The explorer yacht boasts naval architecture crafted by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2419" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Fassmer (Company)">Fassmer</a>, complemented by an exterior design penned by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/622" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Joachim Kinder Yacht Design (Company)">Joachim Kinder Yacht Design</a>. She offers accommodation for up to 12 guests across seven staterooms, supported by a dedicated crew of 14 members.Previously named Hanseatic Explorer, the explorer yacht offers a wide range of amenities, including a sauna for relaxation, satellite communications and air conditioning to ensure comfort regardless of weather conditions. Additionally, guests can explore the underwater world with dive gear and a compressor provided on board. The ice-classed vessel is available for adventurous guests looking for an off-the-beaten-track experience. Interiors on board are bright and spacious and include a master suite and six guest cabins. EYOS Expeditions has completed another highly successful season in the Antarctic this year. During the austral summer, EYOS provided expedition planning, leadership and management for several expeditions in the most challenging and rewarding destination a super-yacht can reach. “I first went to Antarctica 17 years ago. We can take her deep into the pack ice or to the edge of the Weddell Sea, where we sail close past the colossal tabular icebergs.” 	In addition to voyages along the Antarctica Peninsula, EYOS led a more ambitious expedition on an 88 meter private superyacht to the Falklands, Antarctica and South Georgia for repeat clients. The company provided an Expedition Leader, an expert naturalist/historian, and an ice-pilot intimately familiar with these challenging waters. “For those with time and a sense of adventure, we always recommend including South Georgia in the itinerary,” says McCallum.
