<p>The 27.45-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> motor yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008"><em>Hooligan</em></a> caught fire and sank around 18:20 on Saturday off the coast of Tallinn, Estonia. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/235865/image/large-6a6684e8f8ad49d24a7f49bc96f2904e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/235865">According to Finnish media company <em>Iltalehti</em>, the border guard said that the yacht had suffered a serious technical fault before catching fire. The Estonian Police and Border Guard had trouble working at the scene as the weather was windy and the waves were high on Saturday evening. As a result of this, the yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008"><em>Hooligan</em></a>, which was flying a Finnish flag, sank in the Baltic sea.</p><p>The Police and Border Guard worked with the Estonian Rescue Service to prevent the spread of oil at the accident site but struggled to contain it. According to Tago Trei, Field Director of the Police and Border Guard Service (PPA), <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008"><em>Hooligan</em></a> was carrying 12 tonnes of fuel, some of which burnt, while the rest remained in the tank when she sank. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/235864/image/large-88f422ee34318a7efb867276137aeb62.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/235864">The PPA’s maritime surveillance centre was said to have received a distress call at around 15:39 on Saturday that <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/10544" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hooligan27.45m (90'1&quot;)Canados2008"><em>Hooligan</em></a> had suffered a technical fault. The ten people onboard were saved using Hooligan’s lifeboat, and no one was injured.</p><p>The ten people were later picked up by a nearby yacht, before being transferred over to the Estonian Rescue Unit who took them to Tallinn's Kakumäki port. The Estonian authorities do not suspect any crime, but it is unclear who is responsible for salvaging the boat, according to <em>Iltalehti</em>.</p><p>The yacht Hooligan was built by Italian shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/560" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Canados (Company)">Canados</a> in 2008 to a design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/283" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Luiz de Basto Designs (Company)">Luiz de Basto</a>. She was fitted with twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MTU (Company)">MTU</a> 16V 2000 M93 engines, and was able to reach a top speed of 45 knots. Inside she caters for nine guests across 4 staterooms on the lower deck.</p>

27m Canados motor yacht Hooligan catches fire and sinks in Estonia

The 27m Canados motor yacht Hooligan caught fire and sank around 18:20 on Saturday off the coast of Tallinn, Estonia. 

<p>Jimmy Broddesson of IYC has announced the sale of the 27.45 metre Canados<em>&nbsp;</em><em>Open 90</em> motor yacht J &amp; Li, with Broddesson having represented the seller. Fitted with twin MTU 16V 2000 M93 engines, the composite yacht is able to reach a top speed of 45 knots.
