French shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/416" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocea (Company)">Ocea</a>, based in Les Sables d’Olonne, have announced that they have just begun construction on a new 32.7-metre yacht. The project has been fully customised to her owner’s preferences and is the first <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/416" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocea (Company)">Ocea</a> yacht to meet IMO Tier III emission standards.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/201461/image/large-c539641ad455cde97b48ca99368df083.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/201461">Consistent with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/416" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocea (Company)">Ocea</a>’s previous superyacht projects such as the 30.2-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6202" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Kelonia 30.2m (99'1&quot;)Ocea2016">Kelonia</a>, 47-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2379" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Elisabet47.0m (154'2&quot;)Ocea2011">Elisabet</a> and the 32.7-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/754" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Paolyre32.7m (107'3&quot;)Ocea2008">Paolyre</a>, the new vessel will be constructed with an aluminium hull and superstructure and will have long-range capabilities with a range of 4,000 nautical miles. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/416" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocea (Company)">Ocea</a> have also completed the yacht’s naval architecture.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/91709/image/large-b2ff326e1da0df7aeaf6d3d9f0b25542.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/91709"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/91743/image/large-ecc960f3514bf0eeeb36b528e956611b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/91743">The new project, designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6421" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pierre Frutschi Concept & Design Naval (Company)">Pierre Frutschi</a>, will accommodate up-to eight guests across four staterooms. Eco-friendly design considerations aim to reduce the yacht's environmental footprint such as the vessel’s equipment with engines compliant to IMO Tier III emission standards. The yacht will also feature batteries which allow the yacht’s hotel functions to run without the use of generators. She will reach a top speed of 15 knots and cruise comfortably at 12 knots.
