The 42-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> motor yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1553" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lalibela42.0m (137'10&quot;)Benetti SpA1972">Lalibela</a> was badly damaged by a fire at Port Camille Rayon in Golfe Juan on 13 October 2018. Sadly, it has now been confirmed that the classic yacht, built in 1972, has been scrapped in Turkey.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/84651/image/large-0cca73528d542e19566416004cacb5d6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/84651">The yacht was severely damaged by the fire in October 2018 and left partly submerged. The burnt wreck was towed away from Golfe Juan in February 2019, allegedly to Italy, but as seen on this picture from a SuperYacht Times reader, the final destination was the scrapyard. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1553" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lalibela42.0m (137'10&quot;)Benetti SpA1972">Lalibela</a> was beached at a ship recycling facility in Aliaga, Turkey, and scrapping was completed in April 2019.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/52653/image/large-1d111037962ebf7a7a0f7fd0278989e8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/52653"><a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1553" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lalibela42.0m (137'10&quot;)Benetti SpA1972">Lalibela</a> was originally built in 1972 as Diana I for a well known German industrialist who sold her when he took delivery of the 60-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a> Diana II (now <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1435" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sanoo60.55m (198'8&quot;)Feadship1979">Sanoo</a>). At 42 metres, Diana I was the third largest yacht built by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> in the 1970s and was only surpassed by the 52.9-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/725" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Galu52.9m (173'7&quot;)Benetti SpA1977">Galu</a> and the 47.8-metre Ilham II (now <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2552" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Um Hurair47.78m (156'9&quot;)Benetti SpA1970">Um Hurair</a>) which narrowly escaped the same fate as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1553" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lalibela42.0m (137'10&quot;)Benetti SpA1972">Lalibela</a>, as she was fully rebuilt after a serious fire in 2003.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/53682/image/large-5b76b1a7c76532a9f5cdef0832232c66.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/53682">

SYT can confirm that the 42m Benetti yacht Lalibela has been scrapped due to the severe fire damage she endured in 2018.

CNI are delighted to announce the sale of the 34.7m (113’) Laymar II (now Happyssima di Li Galli) from Codecasa and the 33.5m (109’) Master Blaster from Mangusta. Both yachts were sold by Alex Lees Buckley of CNI Monaco and Gaston Lees Buckley of CNI Antibes. Charles Ehrardt of CNI Antibes announces the sale of the 28m (91.8’) Another Time from Falcon Yachts and the 23.4m (76.7’) sailing yacht Spip from CNB. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126215/image/large-58131f0ac245813282085a6611ec4258.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126215">Over on the other side of the Atlantic, Georges Bourgoignie of CNI Miami, announces the sale the 23.8m (78’) Four Ondines built by Grand Alaskan, as well as a 25.6m (84’) new Lazzara, sold to a repeat client following the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October and due for delivery in April 09. Recent listings <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126216/image/large-14a5218dc8d3689c145288da2ffc2ed8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126216">CNI welcome a selection of stunning new central agencies. CNI Cannes lists three new yachts, including the 42m (137’) Blue Eyes. Built in 2004, she is a fine example of Baglietto at its best. Her Paszkowski exterior is complemented by a stunning interior. She has a large master suite on the main deck and four spacious guest suites below deck. Blue Eyes is equipped with stabilizers and a lift providing access to all deck areas. Also listed is the 42m (137’) Alouette from Benetti. Built in 1972, she is a true Gentleman’s yacht, offering optimum comfort for extended cruising. The 29.5m (100’) Lady Luck, also listed with CNI Cannes, is a popular Sanlorenzo 100. This particular vessel has the master cabin on the main deck and another four guest staterooms below. Built in 2001, the yacht is MCA compliant and is also fitted with many extras, including stabilizers. An extensive interior refit has given her a contemporary feel. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126217/image/large-56f4b1245ed4b7ef3328515353b1e755.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126217">Charles Ehrardt, of CNI Antibes, also lists the 39.69m (130’) Commitment from Carp Navi. Built in 1989, and refitted in 2007, she now boasts a stunning, dark wood interior and a large sun deck area with plunge pool. Jonathan Syrett of CNI Palma lists the 29.4m (96.4’) Leomar from Azimut. Built in 1989, she was beautifully updated in 2002 and offers a spacious interior. Arne Ploch, also of CNI Palma, lists the brand new 23m (75.4’) Sensation 23 sailing yacht and jointly lists the 32m (104’) Cassiopeia from Holland Jachtbouw.

She was originally build for the head of a well known German car manufacturer, who sold her when he took delivery of the 60m Feadship Diana II (now <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1435">Nara</a>).
