Jamie Edmiston is one of the most recognisable faces of the superyacht business - and it’s not only down to his trademark red hair. At the helm of the long-standing British brokerage firm Edmiston &amp; Company since 2014, Jamie has been an instrumental figure in the world of superyachts for a number of years. Originally joining his father’s company in 2001, he quickly injected a much-needed burst of fresh, new thinking to the traditional brokerage sphere. That thinking resulted in an incredibly successful branding campaign for the Edmiston name - something which, at the time, was unheard of in superyacht brokerage. After all, the world was still new to the digital game and, if you can even imagine it now, Facebook was yet to be born. Looking to the future once again in an ever-evolving landscape, here we get Jamie’s insight into the past, present and future of superyacht brokerage.&nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/49662/image/large-7742892b261fae6afb21fc3dedcb2ab9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/49662">1. Edmiston has played a defining role in the superyacht business since its establishment. When you were appointed CEO how did you ensure the company continued to play that leading role?&nbsp;The yacht business has grown significantly in the last 20 years, and as part of that rapid expansion, several companies and individuals stand out as defining significant aspects of the business. In terms of brokerage, there are a handful of firms that stand out as innovators. I think it’s fair to say that Edmiston is one of those. In 2001 when I joined my father at the company, we launched the red Edmiston brand. This was one of our most important innovations. Branding was - and I think always will be - my first passion, and was relatively unheard of in superyacht brokerage at the time. &nbsp;Within the brokerage sector only one other company initially reacted, and even today there are probably only a few companies that have a notable brand identity. &nbsp; &nbsp;The business has evolved. I’m very proud to say that Edmiston has remained one of the key players in the industry, and I am committed to ensuring we continue to be at the forefront and maintain a leadership role.&nbsp;2. In 2011 you took a three-year hiatus, leading an investment in the luxury brand LINLEY. Can you see yourself working outside of the superyacht business again?Definitely. But I’m not planning on leaving the yachting business any time soon. Firstly I am fortunate enough to have such an established position. Secondly, Edmiston is our family business and I cannot imagine leaving that. Of course, other things do interest me and if the opportunity presents itself I could very likely explore these interests… perhaps as an investor or in some kind of executive or non-executive role. &nbsp;As I said, branding is a particular area of interest for me. &nbsp;Running LINLEY was very rewarding and enjoyable, and a lot of the success of the business came from my connections within yachting. One of the great things that the yachting business affords you is the opportunity to meet and connect with people who have been successful in a wide range of things.&nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/15190/image/large-25a003ee9fc830f0b3d8ae8704878bea.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/15190">3. As well as the day-to-day running of the business, you’re also very much an active yacht broker. What are some of your most memorable sales?As a company, Edmiston has been involved in quite a number of significant sales over the years. Just a couple that spring to mind includes the 115-metre Lürssen-built <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/298" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pelorus115.0m (377'4&quot;)">Pelorus</a>, the 112.8-metre Bremer Vulkan-built <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/299" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Le Grand Bleu112.8m (370'1&quot;)">Le Grand Bleu</a>, and the 74.5-metre Blohm + Voss-built <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/901" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Zeus74.5m (244'5&quot;)">Enigma</a> (now <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/901" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Zeus74.5m (244'5&quot;)">Zeus</a>) which we’ve sold at least twice.&nbsp;Personally, the sale of the 110-metre Lürssen project <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1969" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Radiant110.0m (360'11&quot;)">Darius</a> (now<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1969" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Radiant110.0m (360'11&quot;)">&nbsp;Radiant</a>) was quite memorable…it was the largest brokerage deal ever at that time. With similar lines to the original <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1850" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ona110.0m (360'11&quot;)">Dilbar</a> (now <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1850" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ona110.0m (360'11&quot;)">Ona</a>), she was undoubtedly influenced by<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/298" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pelorus115.0m (377'4&quot;)">&nbsp;Pelorus</a>. The other sale that stands out is the 60-metre Benetti <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/508" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Andreas L60.0m (196'10&quot;)">Andreas L</a>. The owner is a close friend of mine and she has great sentimental meaning to him and his family, being named after his late father. &nbsp;&nbsp;4. You travel a lot in your role, and a necessary part of the job is testing the product. Tell us: what makes the perfect yacht?&nbsp;I have been fortunate enough to spend time onboard yachts over the years. Whilst the majority is business related, there have also been a handful of occasions that have been for pleasure. The design and innovative engineering side of yachting really interests me. A yacht has to be as technologically advanced as a warship but has to be as comfortable as a five-star hotel. A yacht is somewhere for barefoot living and is - undoubtedly - the best place to holiday as a family. And if you need to be working but still want to be with your family, a yacht provides this amazing opportunity to move from business to family time almost immediately.&nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/20969/image/large-f051682a6cccded7d1824493db379c09.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/20969">5. How do you see the role of the digital world developing in regards to superyacht brokerage and charter? &nbsp;The development of the digital world has certainly helped facilitate the timely delivery of accurate information to clients. &nbsp;This has been the greatest advantage I think. The advent of online video, high-resolution imagery and very immersive multimedia experiences allows people - some of whom have never chartered a yacht before - to get a great idea of what the experience on board a yacht can be. This in itself can only help grow the yacht business. Aside from media, I’m not convinced that digital developments such as Uber or Airbnb style platforms will work in yachting, I think the transactional elements are far more complicated than people perhaps recognise. &nbsp;6. Change in the traditional world of yachting is slow. Will we see significant changes to ownership in the near future?&nbsp;There is a lot of talk about new ownership models. I don’t really know how much the traditional models of ownership can or needs to change. In my experience, fractional ownership for large yachts is a challenging proposition. As yet no one has done it successfully. Possibly someone will make it successful at the lower end of the market for yachts up to 100 feet, but in my view, once you get to the larger yachts there are many obstacles and hurdles that just don’t make it compelling. A yacht is not a jet. A jet is a business tool that you use for a set period of time - maximum 14 hours - to get from A to B, and the successful operators have a large number of planes available that can be easily relocated geographically. A yacht is a location-based experience; a home away from home that takes time to position from one location to another. It’s a different proposition which makes these alternative models a challenge. &nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/16369/image/large-965bae404080e4b5423574ff834bb23f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/16369">7. There are a couple of new charter companies that are backed by superyacht owners, who market an alternative to the traditional charter process. What do you think of this development?I am a businessman; therefore I support innovation and respect those who are prepared to invest their own money in new businesses within the yachting space. I think the models such as Ahoy Club and Yotha may work at the smaller end of the market - say from 40 to 75 feet - but for larger charters, the role of an experienced broker will always be key. I spoke to a client recently who told me he had been offered a yacht via an online broker for 10% less than we had offered it to him and his son had booked it to save some money. He told me that he will never do that again. He said that “the planning was a nightmare, no one was managing the itinerary and helping us with the planning, and when we had an issue with the yacht there was no one to call and help sort the problems. What should have been a relaxing holiday was the opposite.”&nbsp;The key point to understand is this; yachting has a lot of moving parts, therefore it can be complicated, and when it is complicated you want an expert there to guide you and help you sort problems. That support is priceless; I would argue that it is false economy to do it on the cheap because it doesn’t always work out. Never underestimate the value of using a leading broker; you are buying their network, their relationships and their experience - much of which has been built up over many years. When you are trying to relax that is priceless.8. What do you identify as some of the key areas for improvement in the brokerage industry?&nbsp;As with any business, there are areas that could be improved, but equally, I don’t think this is a broken business. There are many examples of successful companies and individuals who do a fantastic job, both in terms of leadership and innovation. If you look at how the industry presents itself nowadays, versus 15 years ago, the developments and advancements have been significant, particularly in terms of marketing and getting the message of yachting out to new people around the world. &nbsp;&nbsp;Organisations such as Sybass, LYBRA and events such as the Monaco Yacht Show, are continually pushing the yachting message and whilst there will always be new clients we want to attract, on the whole I think its been successful.&nbsp;More and more people are discovering yachting; and once discovered it's pretty addictive. No holiday on earth compares to one on board a large yacht. Yes, it is expensive, but it delivers so much in terms of levels of service, privacy, comfort, security. &nbsp; You only need to look at social media to see how many more people are enjoying a holiday on board a yacht nowadays.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/18829/image/large-eab2ac9f90cb1244b9a2ff4bdcaff14c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/18829">9. How has the role of broker changed in a rapidly evolving superyacht business?&nbsp;The fundamental role of the broker in any industry has not really changed, and I do not know how much it can change. A broker – in any industry - puts a deal together between two parties and takes all the stress in between and makes a deal happen. &nbsp;A broker acts as a shock absorber to make a deal happen. between the two involved parties. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;In yachting, a good broker has the ability to make a deal happen – not just deliver messages between parties. They need to not only understand their subject, but also the people they are dealing with, right through the spectrum. There are plenty of examples in yachting where brokers with completely different styles of doing business are both successful.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/41790/image/large-3fd05144629a31880d61507719312e72.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/41790">10. What is your advice for a successful career in the superyacht business?We get a lot of CV’s and enquiries for roles in the yacht business, and where possible, I try and meet as many people as I can. Personally, I am less concerned with someone’s age; talent is what really counts. And whilst experience is important in yachting, it’s not the only defining point. Hard work, drive and intelligence will always play a key role in success; we have a number of young talented people at Edmiston who are considered to be amongst the best in the industry.&nbsp;I tell those interested in getting involved in the brokerage business that it’s important to understand that yacht broking is the ‘disappointment business’. You can work for weeks or even months on a deal, only for it to collapse at the last moment. If you can learn to deal with that and accept that disappointment element, you are 50% there. Once you have reconciled that; the next attributes are hard work and commitment - you need to be prepared to work whenever you are awake. This is not a 9-5 business; the yacht business is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. It’s a way of life as much as a job; and if you look around the industry, the relatively small group of brokers who are consistently successful are those who truly live it. And of course, the last key attribute is luck. 	Andreas L is available for charter this summer throughout the Mediterranean, including Corsica and Sardinia, the French Riviera and Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Weekly charter rates start at €350,000. A July and August special rate of €300,000 per week is currently offered for her limited remaining summer availability.

The three superyachts St David, Lionheart and Andreas L outside Monaco

Lining up outside the port of Monaco last summer were the three Benetti superyachts St David, Lionheart, and Andreas L. Each yacht’s owner commissioned a unique designer, yet each of the yachts still retain a recognisable Benetti element. The 2008-built St David was designed by Winch Design and features a few distinct Winch design cues such as those large arches on the sundeck. The 90-metre Lionheart, launched last year, is the work of Stefano Natucci with the design pair at Green &amp; Mingarelli Design behind her interior. Andreas L’s interior is a highly bespoke affair by the hands of Redman Whitely Dixon.

The Italian T.Mariotti Shipyard has been active in the new construction, and refit business since the foundation of the yard 1928. The 60m Benetti Amnesia in the caribbean

Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) – one of the top English superyacht design teams – reveals the exciting profile and interior sketches of Amnesia IV. Midway through construction, the 65-metre is scheduled to launch late 2010 and has certainly extended the boundaries of her Italian builders. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/127894/image/large-4795c8b4cfb9dbd7ac138b904a20f96d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/127894">Toby Ecuyer, RWD’s Creative Director, says “The design brief was – in brief – precisely the same as for Amnesia III: ‘to design a modern, practical, clean charter yacht which maintains the spirit of the previous Amnesia, but also to push the exterior envelope, including the hull profile’. The near plumb bow is – we believe – a first for Benetti”. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/127895/image/large-ac89f75d5161c1a68306e9e980dbf54b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/127895">“The boat is full of interesting spaces and textures: for me one of the treats is the main saloon with floor to ceiling windows, much more architectural than many boats of this size,” adds Ecuyer. “It was fascinating to tap into the wealth of charter knowledge from the owner’s previous Amnesia’s, that have a phenomenal record of success while – once again – the owner’s background in textiles and manufacturing played a part in terms of philosophy and practicality.” When RWD and their client presented the favoured design with a plumb bow, together with one with a more traditional bow, asking Benetti’s Vincenzo Poerio which he thought they should opt for, the reply was that he would like to build the one with the traditional bow, then adding, with a smile: “…but you should build this with the plumb bow!” Benetti took up the challenge with aplomb. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/127896/image/large-27b6237cc1993d97abc867525e480c0a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/127896">RWD, established in 1993, has some nine large (55-metre+) and very large projects in build at present, launching from late 2009 to 2014, most of which are subject to confidentiality clauses. The 56m (183’73) Galaxy is also exploring further afield and has announced that she will be heading to Central America. The stunning Benetti is available now and can sleep 12 guests.On the other side of the Atlantic, CNI’s charter division in Fort Lauderdale welcomes the 43.3m (142’) Pure Bliss from Palmer Johnson. Her sophisticated interior has a contemporary take on Art Deco inspired architectural elements, fabricated in exotic woods, custom marquetry and stone inlays. She accommodates seven guests in stylish staterooms and has all the latest in entertainment equipment and water toys. Another stunning yacht in the CNI Charter Fleet, the 62m (205’) Apogee from Codecasa, is currently in the shipyard having a refit through February, and will be like new and in pristine condition ready for the summer charter season in the Mediterranean.CNI wish to express on behalf of themselves and the owners of Perseus, their great sorrow at the tragic loss of Drew Gollan, the yachts skipper. February superyacht charter news from CNI

Superyacht owner Graham de Zille remains loyal to Italian custom yacht builder Benetti. He is now in the process of building his fourth motor yacht with the shipyard, which he ordered even before the third was completed. “I believe in loyalty,” says Mr de Zille, “and they have never given me cause for concern. So, we have a good working relationship.” This is an owner who is involved in every aspect of the design and build of his custom yachts, and he has been happy with Benetti’s ability to keep up with their promised production schedule. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125494/image/large-4197775014c5ed36956e608006b219e3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125494">All four of Mr de Zille’s megayachts were named Amnesia. While he’s a former race car driver, he says he has always been interested in yachting. He began exploring dingy sailing and owned a 34-foot Fairline Targa for awhile. Owning a yacht of that size proved frustrating, however, and the tides around his home made it difficult to sail such a small vessel. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125495/image/large-cb7642a60b83f8a1dc18d1f957db405c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125495">He purchased his first megayacht in 2000, which was the 50m Benetti Amnesia I (now Aquila). “I wanted a yacht large enough to carry up to 10/12 guests, stable and able to carry plenty of toys,” Mr de Zille says. “At that stage, I did not want a new yacht, as I had little or no knowledge of what was involved. I always intended for her to charter. Whilst looking at a Codecasa, the now named Ouranos Too, I was persuaded to look at Secret Love II, which was berthed next to her. Whilst initially unimpressed with the interior, I realized she had the volume, etc. that I needed,” he says. The bidding process proved interesting. “As always, when we made an offer, there was another interested party bidding,” says Mr de Zille. “We realized that there was a spec build just under way at Benetti of the fourth in the series, so we flew down and agreed terms in approximately 30 minutes! I am not sure Dr Paolo Vitelli could quite believe it at the time, but as you see, we are still going strong,” he says. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125496/image/large-ef7af09caf892e53a6925200d49ec15b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125496">It was 2003 when Mr de Zille took delivery of his second mega yacht – the 55m Amnesia II. He sold her after only a year, however, because, he received “an offer I could not refuse,” he says. Since the recent launch of his third Benetti megayacht – the 60m Amnesia III – the vessel has cruised to the Grand Prix in Monaco, to Venice, and is now cruising the Adriatic. Then, she will return to the South of France. Currently Mr de Zille prefers the Croatian coast, however, where it is “beautiful and quiet,” and his absolute favorite yachting area is the British Virgin Islands. He says he enjoys many waterborne activities from water skiing and jet skiing to canoeing and diving. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125497/image/large-27ba01c1f25ecae772a075d7072f22ce.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125497">While Mr de Zille relishes the personal use of his yachts, all of his vessels have been available for charter. “I believe charter yachts tend to have the best crews, and that is mainly why I like to charter,” he says. “They are much more on the ball than private yacht crews. I also think we have our own way of looking after our guests and enjoy sharing our yacht with others. I work around the charters but usually spend 6/7 weeks a year aboard.” <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125498/image/large-cb96b7ff81909bedc2f192245a028a88.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125498">With each new yacht, Mr de Zille and Benetti try to push the design elements forward. The Amnesia III features two 1600-hp Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines which allow for a cruise speed of 15 knots. Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) created the interior. “They are one of the most talented and, I believe, underrated design houses out there,” Mr de Zille says. “A lot of the work is for very private clients and never gets seen. Justin Redman is the most talented yacht designer I have ever met, and Toby Ecuyer, who does the bulk of the design work with his team, is so easy to work with and with such great results.” The Amnesia III includes two salons, a massage room, an owner’s suite with his and hers bathrooms and dressing rooms, and five guest suites that are separate from the crew’s quarters. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125499/image/large-ec462f1e246fa075323fef55d20ce8d8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125499">The interior and exterior of the 65m Amnesia IV will also be designed by RWD. “Whilst following certain conventions,” says Mr de Zille, “she is very exciting both inside and out and challenging for us all.” Will there be an Amnesia V, VI, and beyond? “Whilst there are never any guarantees in life,” he says, “I am sure there will be more. We are playing around with some ideas based on 70/80 meters at present.” Amnesia III will be at the Monaco Yacht Show next week. Amnesia III (FB 245) is Graham de Zille’s third yacht with Italian custom yacht builder Benetti, and with each vessel, he works to improve on the design. Mr de Zille worked closely together with Benetti to create a yacht that would fulfill his vision. The dark wooden floors adorn the couch area with a striped carpet. The large rectangular portholes allow for maximum sea views. The main saloon includes a dining area and two lounge areas with couches, chairs, and a widescreen LCD television. Again, the design is understated with classically contemporary light-colored carpet and upholstery, and contrasting silk pillows. The 60m size allows for a host of conveniences, from the latest audio visual entertainment and computer equipment, to a large Jacuzzi on the spacious sundeck, to a gym and massage room, to enough water sports equipment to keep every guest entertained. There are sun pads in the forward bow area and four sunbeds on the aft sundeck, adjacent to a lounge and dining area. There are two full scuba sets, 28 sets of snorkel equipment with different sized fins, two sets of water skis, a floating pad, a floating trampoline, sailing dinghy’s, a 15-foot sailing catamaran, wave runners, tenders, and more. The gym includes a treadmill, exercise bike, free weights, and an elliptical cross trainer. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125472/image/large-1821ece2bb24bcd7cdc4be2d62982a1b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125472"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125473/image/large-fe23a7cc7b940fd927d08b3959c0319b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125473">The crew’s quarters utilize the design ideas from Amnesia II, allowing for crew accommodations and galleys that are separate from the guest areas but which allow the crew to easily move from one area to the next. This gives the crew the opportunity to provide guests with the best possible service without interfering with guest movement throughout the vessel. The crew’s quarters are also unusually spacious, making for a happy crew, which, in turn, makes for happy guests. This layout made Amnesia II very popular as a charter vessel and will no doubt do the same for Amnesia III. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125474/image/large-586b57faafc7cca894934bc5ae56db08.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125474"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125475/image/large-a6d442704caa1bb63c8d1d8183d0acf3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125475">With her two 1600-hp Caterpillar 3512B diesel engines, Amnesia III can reach a cruise speed of 15 knots and a transoceanic range of 5,000 nautical miles. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125476/image/large-f43ce64d0987ca0ad7b01d5977e73a8d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125476">Owner Mr de Zille visited the shipyard on the average of once per month during the building of Amnesia III. “I have good project management with Mr. Garry Bunce and Ian Wastell,” he says, “and I visit dependent on where we are in the build process. I make all the major decisions with help, and the team does the detail which is immense!” The 50m Amnesia I was launched in 2000, and the 55m Amnesia II was launched in 2003. When the 60m FB245 Amnesia III was being launched from Benetti’s Livorno shipyard in February 2008, the building of the 65m FB252 Amnesia IV had already begun there. SuperYacht of the Week: Amnesia III; the ultimate charter yacht

Some of CNI’s finest yachts will be making their way from their winter cruising destinations to rendezvous at the 20th annual MYBA Charter Show in Genoa, Italy. From 5 – 9 May, Genoa’s seafront will be lined with a stunning showcase of yachts from the CNI fleet including the 69.65m (228.5’) Sherakhan, the new 54.2m (177.8’) Maraya from CRN, the 43m (141.08’) CD Two, the 43.34m (142.19’) Griff, and the 37m (121.3’) Beverly. World-class awards CNI is delighted that the 56m (183’) Selene from Perini Navi has been short-listed as a finalist in the Best Sailing Yacht in the 45m+ category at the World Superyacht Awards. A favourite in the CNI fleet, Selene was built in collaboration with a CNI broker and, following her launch in 2007, she has become a highly popular charter yacht. Selene will be racing in the Perini Navi Cup in Porto Rotondo later this year. CNI is also pleased to report prolific entries for its Young Designer of the Year Award – one of the divisions of the World Superyacht Awards, due to be hosted in April. Georges also sold the 49.5m (162’) Mystique from Oceanfast. Brokerage portfolio The 2008 edition of the 32-page sales flyer listing all current CNI central agencies for sale is now available. In addition to new listings, it provides an interesting insight into the CNI sales and brokerage world, with information on new yachts currently under construction, as well as comments on the state of the market, and details on additional owner services provided by the CNI yacht management, charter management and crew placement teams. Miami International Boat Show The Miami International Boat Show, held between the 14 – 18 February at the Miami Beach Convention Center, saw CNI displaying recent listings including the 42.6m (139.7’) Emerald Star from CRN, the 29.6m (97’) Gigi from Hargrave, the 24m (80') Dolce Vita II, and the 24m (80’) Lazzara, Leading Lady. Antibes Yacht Show Starting off the summer season in the Mediterranean, the 2nd annual Antibes Yacht Show, from the 17 – 20 April, sees its capacity almost double, with, to date, 10 yachts from the CNI sales fleet exhibiting, including motor yachts 43.34m (142’) Griff from Marinteknik, the 41.6m (136.5’) Ti Voglio Tanto Bene from ISA, the 34.95m (114.6’) Eliza Jean from Benetti, the 30.5m (100’) Albat from Baglietto, the 28.8m (94.5’) Vanilla from Ferretti, the 25.1m (82’) Sedation from Sunseeker, the 22.8m (74’) Hot Chocolate from Kevlar, and the 22m (72’) Caroama from Overmarine. Sailing yachts from the CNI fleet include the 25.3m (83’) Mr Gecko from Wally Yachts, and the 25m (82’) Volador from Royal Huisman. Charter News Expect to see some new names among existing favourites as the CNI charter division welcomes the funky 28m (92’) Mangusta Number Five to the charter fleet. She is a unique yacht with red crocodile-leather sofas, a Hammam in the master bathroom, and a relaxation room with entertainment facilities. Available for charter in the South of France this summer, Number Five accommodates up to seven guests. Available for the first time for charter is the 30m (98’) Dark Shadow from Wally Yachts. A high performance sailing yacht, she comes with a 13.6m (44.6m) wally tender for those not wishing to partake in the serious sailing to be taken ashore. On the other side of the Atlantic, CNI’s Charter Management Division in Fort Lauderdale has also been busy welcoming several new yachts to the fleet including the 39.6m (130’) Lionshare is also available in the East Mediterranean this summer. Built in 1998, she is fresh from an extensive refit and extension and boasts a stunning interior. New Launches The eagerly awaited Amnesia and Maraya, have now been launched to great acclaim. The 196.8’ (60m) Amnesia is chartering in Croatia and southern Italy for the summer, before heading to the Caribbean for winter. The 2007-built 54m (177.82’) Maraya also joins CNI’s charter division in Monaco. She offers the latest innovations in technology along with an abundance of luxurious interior and exterior spaces. Fresh from the yard, she is set to have a highly successful summer charter season in the Mediterranean. On her cruises there, she may well encounter another new yacht in the CNI fleet, the 37m (121’) Beverly, which is launching this spring. The first Benetti with a black hull, Beverly is set to become the black pearl of the Mediterranean. Further afield The 34.1m (112’) Symphony II from Westport will be cruising Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao this summer, whilst back on this side of the Atlantic the 25.7m (84’) Anne Viking from Princess Yachts will be combining charters in Stavanger, the European Capital of Culture 2008, with the Norwegian fjords this summer. Big Aron is just emerging from a new paint refresh in Australia and, sporting her new look, she will be in Queensland and New South Wales for charters this summer. Carl Linné’s round-the-world tour The 32m (106’) Carl Linné has a hectic and exciting charter itinerary over the coming year. From March the sailing yacht will be in Antigua and available for regular charters or whale-watching charters to Dominica. She is then heading north to the Dominican Republic. From early April she will be in the Bahamas for several weeks to observe whales and dolphins. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/124247/image/large-08bb1adc39b2546ab7bd4d61b3da01f9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/124247">She then cruises to Fort Lauderdale and Nassau until it’s time to make her transatlantic journey for a summer in the Mediterranean. From early June for around ten days she will be preparing for the Rolex Regatta in Sardinia, and in July and August she will again be available for charter, most likely in the eastern Mediterranean. From December she will be back to Antigua and the San Blas islands before leaving for Costa Rica and Panama. In July and August of 2009 she is already planning charters in Alaska. It is odd to think that whilst the Benetti shipyard in Livorno is celebrating the launch of the new 60m Amnesia (FB 245), the first parts of the 65m Amnesia (FB 252) are being built at the same yard. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/124087/image/large-49f4fb7a3a99ffaca26420f097001f96.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/124087">In the meantime preparations are underway for on time delivery of the 60m yacht, as promised to her experienced owner two years ago. The launch ceremony took place on Saturday, the 9th of February. FB 245 is the third Benetti commissioned by her owner. Her interior and exterior have been conceived by the owner in conjunction with Redman Whiteley Dixon, and she is built by the renowned Benetti shipyard. Based in Miami, the 36.6m Oceanfast <a href="http://www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/details/1391/">Never Say Never</a>'s Captain Rubin Smith has an extensive knowledge of cruising the Bahamas. The 51.4m <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/856">Lazy Z</a> from Oceanco is returning to the CNI fleet for charter and will be available in the Caribbean this coming winter season, as will be the 36m Westport Symphony II. A new addition to the CNI fleet and showing at the Antigua Charter Show she accommodates eight guests in four cabins.The 34.8m Lady Rita by Northcoast Yachts, launched in 1998 has been refit to immaculate condition. Available in the Caribbean this Winter and then for Summer in the Bahamas her new interior boasts sea foam and sand tones throughout, complemented by a Jacuzzi on the upper deck, with barbeque and wet bar. And finally, the 23m sailing yacht Carle Linn from Rodrigo Olson joins the CNI charter fleet, with her debut during the Antigua Yacht Charter Show in December followed by a Caribbean winter season.
