The 34-metre motor yacht has been designed in-house under the leadership of Chief of Design Jeff Leishman. The yacht is also an interesting option for owners of larger boats who are looking to go down in size; “I think this design would be a perfect fit for anyone who has owned a large yacht with lots of crew and is looking to simplify things,” LeishmanThe yacht sits below the 400 GT mark and will need only a small crew of sixto operate. Like most <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2047" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nordhavn Yachts (Company)">Nordhavns</a>, it will be a full displacement hull with the capacity to carry enough fuel for transoceanic voyages. The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2047" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nordhavn Yachts (Company)">Nordhavn</a> 112 will be built out of steel, however the superstructure could possibly be constructed of aluminium or even FRP. “Building the super structure of FRP is a bit easier since so much of the areas are simple, flat, plain surfaces so the amount of fairing is less and it goes very quickly,” he said.

The Nordhavn 120 #1 has undergone successful ocean trials and is on schedule to depart the South Coast Marine factory in Xiamen, China on July 12th. The yacht will be delivered by a crew of staff from Pacific Asian Enterprises, Inc. (P.A.E.) including Nordhavn’s vice president, Jim Leishman, and Chief of Design, Jeff Leishman. One port of call has been scheduled for Hong Kong on July 16th. From there the crossing will take approximately 25 days with an arrival to Vancouver in mid-August.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144936/image/large-0eca019d7335868da5d22b6076cc2884.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/144936">Due to logistics, the sheer mass of the vessel as well as economic factors, it’s been concluded that N120 hull #1 will be delivered on her own bottom. With a non-stop range from China to Vancouver running at displacement speed, the decision to “drive” her home was made thoughtfully, however, confidently. The Nordhavn 120 to be delivered soon

The Nordhavn 120 completed a crucial step today after it was launched into the test tank at South Coast Marine in Xiamen, China. Dan Streech, president of Nordhavn’s parent company Pacific Asian Enterprises, Inc. (P.A.E.) noted that so far the future queenship of the Nordhavn fleet has functioned in the water exactly as expected. “She floats perfectly,” Streech said. “All 800,000 lbs. of fiberglass, steel, wood, stone and glass have been brilliantly engineered and managed to float exactly as predicted.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/143794/image/large-929ec00222a16bfe09b40c5bb3960952.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/143794">The tank test is the penultimate stage for the N120 prior to being delivered to her new owner in July. Work continues on the first hull of the future queenship of the Nordhavn line: the Nordhavn 120. Construction of the first Nordhavn 120 superyacht progresses

Swift progress has been made on construction of the Nordhavn 120, and just-released renderings reveal the classic lines and opulent detail the finished hull number one will offer her new owners. The look will be simple and elegant yet contemporary in its styling. African cherry has been selected as the primary hardwood to be used throughout.Another trait the N120 shares with its smaller siblings is an uncommonly low-carbon footprint in terms of fuel usage. The N120’s fuel-efficient diesel engines and full-displacement hull allow worldwide transoceanic range without creating unnecessarily environmental damage. “While fuel consumption may not be a major concern for those fortunate enough to own an N120, a smaller carbon footprint and total luxury appointments have proven appeal to the yachting community,” says Nordhavn President Dan Streech.In true superyacht fashion, the N120 will be customized to the owner’s chosen independent interior designer’s specifications.At a length of 120 feet (36.75m), a beam of 27 feet (8.51m) and a draft of 9 feet (2.74 m), the N120 is designed to fit in a marina anchorage. Construction update on Nordhavn's 120 superyacht

The dawn of a new generation at Pacific Asian Enterprises (PAE) has arrived with the sale of the first Nordhavn 120.
