Dutch shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> has announced a new order of its Raised Pilothouse range of superyachts that is currently under construction. The European owner is expected to take delivery of the 26-metre motor yacht in the summer of 2020, with her hull and superstructure on track to be completed this autumn.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/103522/image/large-87df85516008f70a54cd978954c43400.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/103522"> The Waalwijk-based shipyard is responsible for the vessel’s naval architecture, with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/234" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Guido de Groot Design (Company)">Guido de Groot</a> producing the exterior and interior styling from his drawing boards, taking inspiration from the yachts Grey Falcon and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7490" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nicostasia 26.0m (85'4&quot;)Van der Valk Shipyard2018">Nicostasia</a> for a sophisticated and minimalistic look. The superyacht can sleep eight guests across four staterooms and accommodate up to three crew. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/103523/image/large-9d242353f1edc143caaef1fdcf3fa328.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/103523">Standout amenities on board will include a dinette on the flybridge and in the main saloon, a hydraulic swimming platform, and twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MTU (Company)">MTU</a> 12V 2000 M96L engines, the largest to ever be installed on a <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> Raised Pilothouse 26m, allowing her to cruise comfortably at 22 knots and reach a top speed of 26 knots. The 24-metre yacht is designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/43" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cor D. Rover Design (Company)">Cor D. Rover</a> and features floor-to-ceiling windows. The aluminium yacht features four spacious double staterooms and crew quarters. The modern flybridge will stand out for its ease of operation and will be propelled by triple <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5350" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Volvo Penta (Company)">Volvo Penta</a> IPS1050 engines.

Van der Valk 26m Raised Pilothouse on track for 2020 delivery

The Dutch shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> has released the first details on the 32-metre superyacht Jangada 2, which will be the largest yacht in the yard’s custom-series line to date. Featuring a raised pilothouse, the experienced owner and repeat client of the yard placed the order at the end of 2017 and is expecting delivery during the month of May 2019. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/61014/image/large-dc3f33112ede4cfb658d6b30d8898512.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/61014">Designed in partnership with Nick Top and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/234" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Guido de Groot Design (Company)">Guido de Groot</a>, Jangada 2&nbsp;has a wide range of bespoke elements to match the owner’s specific brief. Features include an outdoor dining area, smart wet bar and sunbathing space on the flybridge deck, as well as space for a tender, toys and a crane. Clients can go as large as 40-metres with this model or any other design in our state-of-the-art facilities. Lots of work also went into the spacious galley as we optimised the functional area under the raised pilothouse,” commented designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/234" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Guido de Groot Design (Company)">Guido de Groot.</a>Guido de Groot added:&nbsp;“In a similar vein, the bathroom of the VIP suite on the main deck can be closed off for use by guests during the day after swimming and the like without entering the bedroom itself. This kind of smart thinking typifies the genuinely bespoke nature of the project, which is an impressive achievement by the yard. &nbsp;The owner visited several other top builders before electing for Van der Valk and no other yard could offer him such a tailor-made creation.”&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/61025/image/large-cadfc4cc593a35aa75c9d2288364f818.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/61025">With fuel efficiency in mind, the hull of Jangada 2 features a bulbous bow and is fitted with a Van Oossanen Hull Vane fixed foil. Powered by twin MTU 12V2000 M96L engines, she can read a top speed of 23 knots and be kept steady by the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5108" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="VEEM Ltd. Dutch shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> has delivered the 26-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7490" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nicostasia 26.0m (85'4&quot;)">Nicostasia</a>, fourth in their semi-custom Raised Pilothouse series, to her new owners. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/44837/image/large-ad757d702461a4442343c305f480d3c6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/44837">Designer Guido de Groot was commissioned to devise both the exterior and interior design while her naval architecture was completed by Ginton Naval Architects. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/44840/image/large-2f1a1ec94ff6cc56317541d0fd4f11a9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/44840">Thanks to the input of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7490" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nicostasia 26.0m (85'4&quot;)">Nicostasia’s</a> owners, who are experienced yachtsmen themselves, the yacht features a few key custom family-oriented design elements, one of which is the open galley. Usually located out of sight, Nicostasia’s owners underscored the importance of having an open kitchen integrated into the saloon, perfect for a family who, “loves to socialise with guests while cooking,” says de Groot. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/44846/image/large-a0cc6f58751724dd447c71d6408557fa.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/44846">Her interior features an abundance of natural light, as requested by the owners of Nicostasia, complemented with a palatable light colour scheme which principally features whitewashed oak as a material. &nbsp;De Groot typifies the interior as minimalist and functional while stressing that “Nicostasia&nbsp;is a real family boat”.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/44848/image/large-7775e76a46dca49dcc5073f5551e7c4f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/44848">With a four-bedroom layout, Nicostasia can accommodate up to eight guests. She features one full beam owner’s suite, one VIP-configured suite, and two guest cabins. Additionally, each stateroom features an en-suite bathroom. A central staircase fashioned from stainless steel connects the three main decks and the wheelhouse. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/44843/image/large-4224d7d0ecc6405844ac9a55dcf44388.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/44843">As for Nicostasia’s exterior areas, the Raised Pilothouse series features an elevated wheelhouse and an open deck area in the forward of the vessel where guests can lounge on sunpads.
