Launched in 2008 as the first <a data-gid="gid://syiq/YachtModel/3280" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship SL3939.0m (127'11&quot;)">Feadship SL 39</a> series, she was built by the Dutch brand at their Aalsmeer-based shipyard in the Netherlands. The 437 GT superyacht features naval architecture and exterior design by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/30" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="De Voogt Naval Architects (Company)">De Voogt Naval Architects</a>, while <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Terence Disdale Design (Company)">Terence Disdale</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1499" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="SDSI B.V. (Company)">SDSI</a> were entrusted with her interior design. The three-deck yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/105" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocean Mercury39.0m (127'11&quot;)Feadship2008">Ocean Mercury</a> shares a near-identical design with her sisterships <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/106" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Kathleen Anne39.01m (127'12&quot;)Feadship2009">Kathleen Anne</a> (2009) and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1129" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="GO43.0m (141'1&quot;)Feadship2010">GO</a> (2010). In 2013 she was bought by her current owners, and subsequently underwent an extensive rework project at Feadship whereby the yacht was lengthened to her current 43 metres. The engineering tasks of the project was left to Feadship’s Yacht Services team, while Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design was in charge of the vessel’s restyling. Here she is seen kicking off the 2018 summer cruising season at anchor outside St Tropez.

Completed by Feadship in Aalsmeer in 2010, the steel and aluminium built superyacht GO was re-launched in June of this year after undergoing an extensive refit which also saw her lengthened from 39 metres to 43 metres.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157246/image/large-9593135ddb349abe3d1df1a40ae30486.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157246">She returned to Feadship’s facilities for her refit after being taken over by a new owner who had clear view of what GO needed to really make her his own: larger outside decks and awnings that would maximise comfort even further when spending time outside..<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157247/image/large-6fcd14c6e14fbfe7009f79d475369622.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157247">Feadship Yacht Services' team undertook the engineering for the project, whilst Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design undertook her restyling. Her original interior design was undertaken by Fokkema &amp; Partners.The result is striking, especially when on the sun deck which feels dramatically more spacious. The total project consisted of the extension of the main deck, bridge deck and sun deck, all of which now feature semi-fixed awnings that create an ideal amount of shaded coverage. The main deck is now equipped with extra seating aft, whilst the main deck lounge, dining and owner’s stateroom have been restyled.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157248/image/large-4eb542977f565bdfdd0884c9a9aff8ec.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157248"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157249/image/large-8af9a4dd7edc5f086a1d94e5c8cc6f85.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157249">In addition, the bridge deck features new loose furniture and an extended superstructure to create wind shields, and the bridge deck lounge has been completely refurbished. Lastly, an extra crew cabin was added on lower deck and she has been completely repainted.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157250/image/large-64cd95bbefa0f4ba358371de6b7c2aa2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157250">GO's instantly recognisable Feadship exterior profile was designed by De Voogt Naval Architects.Inside, she features a light and airy yet sophisticated interior style which draws on a variety of colors, textures and fabrics. The main saloon utilises warm creams and a palette of browns, yellows and oranges, which gives an overall welcoming, homely feel. Two plush sofas positioned opposite each other with a coffee table in the middle completes the cosy setting, with large windows surrounding the space and flooding the area with natural light.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157251/image/large-19dfc081a7b587ed7430540bf4f6e94b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157251">The adjoining dining area features a round, elegant large table, seating ten guests comfortably for a sophisticated dining experience. Immediately drawing the eye is a unique light feature hanging centrally over the table, whilst several refined art pieces are found on the surrounding walls.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157252/image/large-812827186ca255428024bffe4dd2ad36.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157252">A total of ten guests can be accommodated on board, with the large master stateroom epitomising the calm and peaceful atmosphere that pervades every area of the yacht. Oversized windows provide a great view outside from the bed, whilst the full beam layout of the room prevents guests and crew walking past, thus providing plenty of privacy for the owner.Flexibility is a major hallmark of GO’s smart layout, with the option to transform two of the four guest suites into full-width VIP staterooms complete with its own lounge. Superyacht of the week: Feadship’s newly lenghtened GO

Superyacht Go has been relaunched by Feadship in Aalsmeer, following her recent lengthening. Feadship relaunches Go following refit

Feadship recently launched Go at the Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw yard in Aalsmeer. She is the third yacht in the exclusive and pioneering SL39 modular concept. I was invited to join Feadship in Monaco last week, to spend the day cruising the French riviera, and to find out exactly what the SL39 concept is all about. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131529/image/large-d7cb675455440bd1356154d0744ca095.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131529">When we sailed out of Monaco, we caught some of Monaco’s infamous swell. <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1129">Go</a>’s well balanced hull however ensured that the ride was smooth and stable, and we were soon cruising at a steady 10 knots.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131530/image/large-673f9ee0535a6107b92ad496c72c2e13.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131530"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131531/image/large-f085e683bf623fda56acfe91c92e1055.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131531">Like the other two SL39s, <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/105">Ocean Mercury</a> (launched in 2008) and <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/106">Kathleen Anne</a> (2009), Go is every inch a custom superyacht above the waterline. Her instantly recognizable Feadship exterior profile has been designed by De Voogt Naval Architects. The modern interior comes from FPA Architects, the winner of the five Dutch top designers, which Feadship had challenged to design the interior for the mk3. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131532/image/large-cb8e0f274c367290bd8e604cbb00744c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131532">The light and airy, yet sophisticated interior style draws on a variety of colors, textures and fabrics. In the dining room and the main salon the wall panelling is made in teak in a natural finish and the ceiling is finished with majilite. The modular sofa in the main salon is finished in a Dominique Kieffer fabric, and can face aft, or be easily changed to face to a 46” plasma screen, located above the high gloss lacquer china cabinet, which separated the salon from the dining room. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131533/image/large-b707c11280bd85bdcb2291192e537675.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131533">The surprisingly spacious dining room features an oak stained in black table. Again, the quality of finish is typical Feadship, and presents te best of the best. Whilst cruising past Eze at 10 knots, against wind and waves, sound was almost completely absent in the cabins, a true testament to Feadship’s engineering and sound isolating capabilities. The salon features wall panelling of teak in a natural finish, and in the salon itself, the floor covering is teak parquet with wengé stripes. The teak flooring ensures that the salon blends in perfectly with the aft deck. FPA have used spiny back leather for the seating, located within the large windows. By pushing the seating into the windows, the room remains open and spacious. The main feature of the bridge deck salon however is the large central bar, where again Feadship engineers have developed clever solutions for storage. Bas Nederpelt, co-director of sales &amp; marketing at the De Vries yard, demonstrated how the entire bar surface slides to one side, revealing storage and a hidden sink. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131542/image/large-c58b41714abfc7a04d227ddcac336311.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131542"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131543/image/large-750206580799e876fd8226e1cfd9d0cb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131543">The bridge deck salon opens onto the large upper aft deck through a quadruple sliding door. By opening the door completely the whole area becomes one large indoor/outdoor area. The aft deck features loose furniture, which allows the deck to be set up in different configurations. The dining table comfortable seats 8, but when desired, can be easily extended to seat 12. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131544/image/large-57f5648e745413d9048904e9bde624d6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131544">From the bridge aft deck, stairs lead up to the multi purpose sundeck. The aft part of the sundeck is equipped with loose sun loungers, as well as a small breakfast table and chairs. Just forward under the radar mast is a large Jacuzzi, flanked by sun mattresses, and a beautiful modern chaise longue. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131545/image/large-1cc19181a673d4d855307bfd4121958f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131545">Go is a full displacement world cruiser with a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and a top speed of 14 knots. Her engine room, built a degree of perfection that only Feadship engineers can achieve, is equipped with twin 12V2000 M70 MTU diesel engines. They provide a 4.000nm range at 10 knots. The main five-meter tender is stored in the lazarette, behind a large transom hatch. Superyacht of the Week: Feadship's latest SL39, Go

Launched by Koninklijke De Vries Scheepsbouw, Ocean Mercury is the first of a modular customseries concept from Feadship called the SL39. Designed by De Voogt Naval Architects with an interior by Terence Disdale, Ocean Mercury has a classic Feadship look and will be primarily used in the Mediterranean. The owner worked closely with the yard to customize many aspects, creating a family yacht that makes the most of the proven engineering and options offered by the SL39 platform. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126250/image/large-d20fcc579dbf4ee4946e5ac4b53980a9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126250">The SL 39 is genuinely unique in the custom-series market as it allows for the choice of a completely original exterior style. The only set elements are the hull infrastructure and the technical systems and equipment. Synthesizing Feadship’s decades of experience in the 40-meter size range, the hull design of an SL39 is based on a grid pattern with dedicated zones for the engine room, bridge, crew quarters and stairways. Within these parameters, owners have a wealth of choices to make ‘outside the box’, and Ocean Mercury’s owner has thoroughly enjoyed being the first client to pioneer this approach in practice. He participated in the development to a very high degree, and has left his distinct imprimatur on many parts of the yacht. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126251/image/large-7a91934eca2cb9faa09dd55dfe04620f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126251"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126252/image/large-c60cb76b02b5c828af538e4bda1ada3d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126252">Examples include dedicated traffic flow on the port side for the crew, ensuring enhanced privacy for the owners and guests, and a lengthened hull that freed up deck space by shifting the tender from the aft deck down within the hull. Such logistical details are very rare on boats of this size, and gave Feadship engineers the opportunity to rethink and refine their methods on a smaller scale.<a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/105">Ocean Mercury</a> is a full-displacement world cruiser with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure. The distinctive Feadship design created by De Voogt Naval Architects is manifested in clear lines, and simple and smooth details. These features combine to create a powerful, dynamic appearance. Ocean Mercury‘s window sections are well proportioned and reinforce the overall lines of the timeless design. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126253/image/large-ee6c6d868726ee622fac2b1e8661dc3f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126253">The pre-existing platform underlying Ocean Mercury frees up lots of interior space compared to similar boats. Combined with a wide beam and full-width bridge deck this creates a surprising amount of room for a yacht of these dimensions. This is used to maximum effect in an open and flexible layout. Captain Martin Lilley describes Ocean Mercury as “absolutely fantastic and one of the finest yachts afloat,” adding that “Feadship has fitted more in this 39-meter boat than most would manage in 49 meters.” Clever technological details onboard Ocean Mercury include a centralized air-conditioning system on the main deck, which eliminates the need for separate fan coil units in each room and frees up space, perspective and layout options. Windows in particular come into their own thanks to the absence of cabinets housing air-conditioning units. This type of feature is highly unusual on boats below 50 meters. The same applies to the fully integrated bridge and many other design and technical details. Designed by Terence Disdale, the light and contemporary interior is characterized by his trademark tactility, with ribbed and fluted joinery and special fabric paneling. A number of design cues were taken from the 50-meter Feadship <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/183">High Chaparral</a> launched in 2004. Ocean Mercury has a style which is all her own, however, especially in terms of the harmonious color scheme and flowing and airy atmosphere, which combine to enhance the sense of space. The décor relies on a cream trinity of oak walls, pale fabric panels and hand-woven Indian carpeting, enhanced with other details in different areas. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126254/image/large-72511641b0781b98d63c1b03b5db4549.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126254">The main staircase section is organized as a wide atrium running across two decks. This is a truly dramatic feature, open and spacious, and again unprecedented on a 40-meter yacht. The elegant coffee tables and sofa side tables in stained oak are provided by an architect friend of the owners. The pièce de résistance here are two impressive bronze and ivory statues on marble bases, positioned in recesses on either side of the large sliding door leading out to the aft deck. Another eye-catching feature is the plethora of windows with Roman blinds all around. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126257/image/large-eb25f1ba991f909f7bad555000b1ff82.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126257">A tasteful transition from lounge to dining space is provided by a parquet interval in the carpeting as well as by the two red cabinets providing a splash of bright color. A cozy white sofa in the corner is made of leather, as is the cream-colored headboard of the bed, while a white lacquered makeup table to starboard incorporates a hatch containing a mirror and automatic lighting. The his-and-her bathrooms have pale Corian walls and floors and other surfaces in dark Portoro and pale Botticino marble, and offer great views thanks to the large windows. The galley is linked to the bridge deck pantry by a dumb waiter, and to the crew quarters with a dedicated stairwell, reflecting the smart logistics found throughout Ocean Mercury. The powder room in the main entrance area is finished in refined dark Portoro marble. Uniquely on a boat of this size, Ocean Mercury’s lovely sky lounge takes up the full beam. Giant windows enhance the already impressive feeling of space, as does the furniture layout. This area includes two built-in sofas aft that free up the central space as well as the centerline axis, two coffee tables in bronze with a wooden top, with two charming seats. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126265/image/large-efe794fe4c257de765a735a2da410703.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126265">The oak walls are highlighted with pale fabric panels, while the hand-woven carpet is enhanced by a wooden border all around, and the TV cabinet is in walnut. The bridge deck lounge is ideal for all forms of entertainment thanks to the port side pantry and adjacent bar, which features a special lacquer finish and Portoro marble top. The room itself is in oak with plenty of dark brown leather features, including the entire dashboard, window dressing and elevated settee ideal for enjoying the view. The parquet floor of the wheelhouse is enhanced with dark wengé inlay. In keeping with the winding stairway, this area is characterized by rounded details. There are four guest rooms which can be rearranged into two large VIP suites with lounges. They feature a high standard of finish and plenty of space, reflecting the necessity of good accommodation for attracting and retaining top-quality crew. The engine room is located amidships, with a lazarette flanked by two technical spaces aft. It is evident that the working environment on Ocean Mercury has not been sacrificed for the sake of increasing guest volume. Ocean Mercury’s crew also enjoys a mess and separate laundry room on the lower deck. The main five-meter tender is stored in the lazarette and comes as standard. The transom hatch lowers to form a swimming platform and can pivot beyond horizontal to facilitate launching of the tender. The two technical spaces here include other technical installations and systems, and provide room for diving equipment and the like. The MOB boat and extra wave runner are stored on the fore deck. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126277/image/large-d4593865b0827bba91f92bd50e7033eb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126277">Intended primarily for use in the Mediterranean, Ocean Mercury is crowned by an accordingly multipurpose sundeck. The owner was very involved in the design of this area, which is distinguished by a wealth of built-in furniture providing a very solid feel. There are three distinct atmospheres here: A flexible aft area for sitting, which comprises mostly loose furniture, a central shaded area ideal for snacks or lunch, and a forward area devoted to sunbathing with a large whirlpool tub. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/126278/image/large-77e548bffe88195acc9d7bc8539ffc89.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/126278">Ocean Mercury represents the top of the line in terms of onboard equipment and machinery, and is exceptionally comfortable at sea.

SuperYacht of the Week: Ocean Mercury, the SL39 revolution starts here

This morning the second Feadship SL39, Kathleen Anne, was christened at the Royal De Vries shipyard in Aalsmeer. Feadship Royal De Vries Scheepsbouw launched the first of its SL39 series today, Ocean Mercury.
