At least 10 vessels have been involved in a yacht fire at the Marina Palmira in La Paz, Mexico, on Thursday 2 November, with four yachts completely destroyed and sunk.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/292737/image/large-f084032c79256ec813f3ed8c7cf0ca7b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/292737">According to local online news website Riviera Maya News, the fire was alleged to have started early morning at Marina Palmira, with the Guardia Nacional (National Guard) first on the scene after reports were made at around 4am local time.&nbsp;“The Guardia Nacional activated the PlanGN_A to provide assistance to the population after a fire was recorded that affected several boats in the Marina Palmira area in the municipality of La Paz BCS,” commented the Guardia Nacional.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/292739/image/large-4af4648ce7521b92daee4fff700a60ab.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/292739">The head of municipal Civil Protection, Héctor Amparano, told local news sources that no injuries had been reported, but that the fire started in four yachts, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7045" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Optimus32.61m (106'12&quot;)Hatteras Yachts2019">Optimus</a>, Perfecto, Mira Viliz and Invictus, all of which were a total loss from sinking.&nbsp;“The yacht owners, as well as the boating community and local residents, watched helplessly as the flames spread. Desperation and sadness took over the atmosphere, as the worst was feared for the boats and personal belongings onboard,” read a post on the BCS Citizen Complaint Facebook page.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/292740/image/large-e5ca4fa1908eab4ac655f41c090740eb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/292740">The flames from the fire are said to have reached six other vessels due to the wind, with these vessels allegedly 80 to 90 percent damaged. North American yacht builder <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/466" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hatteras Yachts (Company)">Hatteras</a> recently completed construction on the final superyacht in its 100RPH line when it delivered a custom Hatteras 100RPH yacht, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7045" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Optimus32.61m (106'12&quot;)Hatteras Yachts2019">Optimus</a>. Built at the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/466" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Hatteras Yachts (Company)">Hatteras</a> factory in New Bern, NC, the fifth unit in this 100RPH line arrived in New York City this month on its maiden voyage.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/89255/image/large-be724d05fab91288d20235c6e8b3353f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89255">This particular 100RPH, the last in the 100RPH series, measures 107 feet in length with an additional 7 feet added to the stern in the form of a purpose-built fishing cockpit, signifying the brand’s strong connection to the sportfishing market. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/89254/image/large-86a2d8d5484bad7d433855e33d526019.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89254"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/89251/image/large-a7148d17442244f357ea90abe4d7644f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89251">The new-generation 105RPH which replaces the 100RPH line comes with two standard layout arrangements for either eight or ten overnight guests with either a family-style galley or optional master suite forward on the main deck. The American builder has confirmed that hull number one in this new series is already in production.&nbsp;
