Launched in 2012 at the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2600" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel GmbH (Company)">Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel</a> shipyard (formerly HDW), she was originally one of six nearly identical vessels ordered at the same time. When the financial crisis hit, however, four of these orders were cancelled and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2824" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Odessa II73.8m (242'2&quot;)Nobiskrug2013">Odessa II</a>, the only other surviving order, was completed at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Nobiskrug (Company)">Nobiskrug</a> in 2013. The German design studio <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1042" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Focus Yacht Design (Company)">Focus Yacht Design</a> penned her exterior lines. Constructed with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2823" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Plan B73.15m (239'12&quot;)Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel GmbH2012">Plan B</a> can reach a top speed of 17 knots thanks to her two <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1409" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="MTU (Company)">MTU</a> 16V 4000 M60 diesel engines with 2,034 horsepower each.

She was constructed by the Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel shipyard (formerly HDW) in 2012, with Focus Yacht Design undertaking her exterior design. On board she accommodates guests over a large master suite on the main deck, three VIP cabins on the upper deck, and two double and two twin cabins on the lower deck. Interestingly, when Plan B was commissioned ahead of the financial crisis, an additional five yachts were also ordered at the same time. One of our readers has send us this photo of the 73 metre superyacht Plan B (HDW hull number 422), seen here in Douglas Harbour on the Isle of Man, which leads us to believe she has now been delivered, or is in the process of being delivered. Built by Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel (formerly HDW), the yacht was ordered before the crisis as part of an order for six yachts of all around the same size. 73 Metre superyacht Plan B completed

Yesterday the 73 metre superyacht Plan B (HDW hull number 422) left her building shed for the first time. Built by Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel (formerly HDW), the yacht was ordered before the crisis as part of an order for six yachts of all around the same size. Due to the economic crisis four yachts were cancelled and in addition to Plan B, the second yacht in the series, HDW #423, is still in-build. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/139217/image/large-1da9c21b5323efa5ae6d3558cda029e2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/139217">The hull of HDW 423 was recently completed by Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel and she will be outfitted by Nobiskrug in Rendsburg, who are part of the same group as Abu Dhabi MAR Kiel.
