Construction has commenced on the 27.4-metre sailing yacht Tripp 90 at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYachts</a>’ Greifswald-based custom division in Germany. Marking his second collaboration with the German shipbuilder so far, American naval architect <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/167" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tripp Design Naval Architects (Company)">Bill Tripp</a> created the exterior design and construction plan for the carbon sloop, with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/69" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Winch Design (Company)">Winch Design</a> designing her interiors. Built on behalf of an American client who plans to use the yacht for both competitive and personal use, Tripp 90 is scheduled to leave Greifswald in November 2020. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/101710/image/large-6b6a9649bca9fc4b8de8f59c9f443766.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/101710">Designed to deliver competitive results while remaining comfortable during sailing, Tripp 90’s hull, inner structure and rig will be built from carbon to reduce her overall weight. To enhance her user-friendliness and minimise the number of crew necessary, all halyards and sheets will be operated from the steering columns.&nbsp;Drawing inspiration from the American east coast and modern Scandinavia, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/69" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Winch Design (Company)">Winch Design</a> incorporated soft leathers and light oak wood to give the interior of Tripp 90 a restrained elegance. In accordance with the owner’s wishes for an open saloon that looks out onto the sea, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/167" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tripp Design Naval Architects (Company)">Bill Tripp</a> designed a glass-enclosed deck saloon that floods the minimalistic interior with plenty of natural light. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/101711/image/large-bb974b5fde95be9c2220946932c4dfef.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/101711">Managing director of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5563" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="YYachts (Company)">YYachts</a>, Dirk Zademack, commented: "With&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/167" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tripp Design Naval Architects (Company)">Bill Tripp</a>&nbsp;we are collaborating with one of the best naval architects in the world. After working on the Y7 with him, we are now working on the Tripp 90, resulting in an even more intense collaboration. This will soon be followed by another project."&nbsp;
