SYT iQ: Feadship’s performance on the used yacht sales market

The two American-owned Feadship superyachts, Rock.It and Blue Moon, are currently spending time together in the city of Chicago. Blue Moon is a regular site in Chicago this time of year, with Rock.It having made her way south to the Windy City after cruising the inland waters that separate Canada and the United States some weeks ago.

The owner of the 60 metre Feadship Blue Moon is an avid ambassador of the Dutch yachting brand, having owned three Feadships since the mid-1990s. Having named all three of his yachts Blue Moon, his latest yacht was launched at the Royal van Lent yard in 2005. Donald Starkey designed her guest spaces to feature the maximum amount of interior volume, all within a 60 metre platform. The designer introduced signature exterior styling cues in Blue Moon which Feadship would eventually go on to apply to many of their future yachts.

Setting Rock.It apart from other Feadships is the first-time application of an intuitive control and maneuvering system on a superyacht, developed especially for naval applications. She was seen last week cruising off Ontario on the Saint Lawrence River which separates Canada and the United States.

Superyachts moored in Atlantis, Bahamas

The popular tourist destination of Paradise Island in the Bahamas has become a regular stopover point for yachts traveling between the state of Florida and the Caribbean islands during the winter months. The island is famous for the iconic Atlantis Resort and also for playing host to a few James Bond film settings. In this stunning aerial photo we can see superyachts Rock.It, Moon Sand, Entourage and Carpe Diem to name a few.

Launched in summer 2014, the 60.35 metre superyacht Rock.It was one of the most highly anticipated new yachts at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and it’s not hard to see why. Built by the Dutch shipyard Feadship, she features both exterior and interior design from Sinot Yacht Design and was built for a first time owner.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157023/image/large-e725853a5e1b0add9507eb79ba67bbc2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157023">She accommodates up to ten guests on board as well as a crew of 13. First look onboard Feadship's Rock.It at FLIBS

We take a look at a selection of some of the newest yachts that have made their way to the 56th edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) taking place this week. She has now headed back south to Florida where she will be on display at FLIBS this year. The Dutch design company, Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design designed both the interior and exterior of ROCK.IT. She is built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and accommodates ten guests over four guest cabins as well as a generous owner’s stateroom.King Baby<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156939/image/large-71c356181b54975805df9155f35584a2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156939">Delivered just last month to her American client, Chinese yacht builder IAG Yachts wasted no time in loading the 41 metre King Baby onto her transport vessel which would take her to Florida. She is attending the show as the yard’s largest yacht ever at just under 500 GT, and is constructed entirely from GRP. She has been built to RINA’s classification standards and is MCA LY2 compliant for a commercial charter rating.Sanlorenzo SL 118<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156940/image/large-086ae1486a6c1682e38e8bbf0a2eda8c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156940">The fourth hull in the Italian yard’s SL118 line, the 37 metre yacht has become the flagship in the SL line and features a planning hull in fiberglass. Designed by Francesco Paszkowkski, the Sl118 builds on the success of the SD112, of which one model will also be on display at the show.Acala<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156941/image/large-4a78d7cfc96a525a87e690df2f5582d9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156941">Cantieri delle Marche is attending the show once again after a three year absence and is bringing along their recently launched Darwin Class 102 explorer yacht Acala. Measuring 31.09 metres, she has been constructed in steel and aluminium and will be officially presented to the industry for the first tome at the show. She features naval architecture and exterior design by Hydro Tec, and accommodates guests over a five cabin layout. Amongst her specific customisations for her Central American client is a lazarette equipped with a nitrox compressor for diving, as well as the doors in the large salon that are able to open completely.Ocean Alexander 100<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156942/image/large-e3fe98db30ad0a42598442619567669e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156942">The second hull of Ocean Alexander’s OA 100 series will be on display at the show this year after revealing the first edition of the design at FLIBS 2014. The yacht was designed by Evan K. Marshall with chartering use in mind. eature a large galley, greatly enlarged crew area, as well as the addition of strategic storage space throughout the vessel. On the lower deck, the OA 100 offers a full-beam master stateroom arrangement with his-and-her heads, a forward VIP cabin, and two twin cabins, which can be transformed into double cabins. Ocean Alexander have optimized the yacht's exterior areas, creating a large partially covered sundeck. However, the vessel is also available with an enclosed skylounge arrangement.By Charl van Rooy

Launched earlier this year, the 60.34 metre Feadship superyacht ROCK.IT is now on her way to the Caribbean for the winter season. Our photographer spotted her in Gibraltar on her way there. Created for an experienced owner who has chartered Feadships in the past, ROCK.IT features the first-time application on a superyacht of an intuitive control and maneuvering system developed for naval applications.She features naval architecture by De Voogt Naval Architects, with Sinot Yacht Design responsible for both her interiors and exteriors. Inside, she presents a mix of dark wood and light stone to give her a classic, modern look. A particularly notable feature is the skylight in the sun deck canopy, which automatically dims dependent upon the strength of the sunlight.On board, she comes with a variety of tenders and water toys including a 7 metre tender, a crew tender and wave runners. Spacious thanks to the full-beam throughout, crotched mahogany and striking diagonally veneered sycamore panelling create a very personal touch. Backlit pure White Onyx in combination with the most exquisite Portoro and other marbles elevate the interior to a higher level without losing its main purpose of being a true family yacht. But ROCK.IT is also a party boat when the time is right. One of the most striking features is the skylight in the sun deck canopy, which dims automatically depending on the strength of the sunlight. This allows for an open feel while optimising comfort levels.The superyacht contains cutting edge technology, as in the installation of a unique control system that includes a semi-DP autopilot system. This will allow ROCK.IT to keep her heading at anchor, hovering on the main engine and the thrusters. Exclusive: Superyacht ROCK.IT (hull 687) launched by Feadship

Last week I visited the Feadship shipyard in Makkum, the Netherlands, as part of the Holland Yachting Group Press Tour 2014.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149009/image/large-104a51aa46c910c1564f6c91f4b08bb8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/148553">Unfortunately, some of Feadship's current projects are being kept under wraps, such as the 70 metre pictured above. We have, however, been allowed to unveil more information on several of the projects currently underway at the three shipyards that make up Feadship, together with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects.The first project is Hull 686, a twin screw motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. She measures an impressive 83.50 metres, with a 12.50 metre beam and 3.95 metre draught. Her interior design is by Cristina Benardeau.Hull 686 will accommodate 12 guests over four large staterooms, one VIP stateroom and the luxurious Owner’s suite. The crew of up to 26 will be accommodated over eight cabins, as well as personal cabins for the captain, engineer and two officers. Among other amenities and water toys, this vessel will come with two 9.0 metre tenders and one 15’ tender.The second project underway at Feadship in Aalsmeer is Hull 687. This 60.35 metre motor yacht is also built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and will have a fuel capacity of 120,000 litres. Her interior is the work of renowned Dutch design company, Sinot Yacht Design.She will accommodate ten guests over four guest staterooms, as well as the generous Owner’s stateroom. Her twelve crew will be accommodated over six crew cabins. Storage rooms, laundry, the galley and the crew mess will all be located on the lower deck. Hull 687 comes complete with a 7 metre tender and wave runners.The 46.40 metre motor yacht Hull 689 is the next project underway at Feadship, with naval architecture by Dubois Naval Architects and interior design by Redman Whitely Dixon. She is powered by 2x Caterpillar C32 / 895 kW engines. This vessel will accommodate 8 guests in total over two double staterooms and two twin staterooms.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149010/image/large-e1646732dd13a7af0fe85572428c92a6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/141064"> The fourth vessel is the smallest project underway at Feadship, Hull 690, a 44.20 metre twin screw motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Naval architecture is by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, with interior design by Bannenberg &amp; Rowell Design. She accommodates 8 guests, in three large staterooms, two of which are easily convertible into one large stateroom with separate seating, and one large full beam VIP stateroom forward. The generous Owner’s suite comes with a luxurious study, double bathroom and walk in dressing room.The crew quarters are comfortable and spacious, with a private en-suite room for the captain, and two double en-suite crew cabins. Hull 690 comes equipped with a swimming pool with lifting floor, among other exciting features.Hull 808 is the largest project currently underway at the shipyard, a breath taking 101.50 metre project, with 14.10 metre beam and 4.10 draught. She has a fuel capacity of 220,000 litres and is powered by 4x MTU 16V4000M73, 2560 kW engines. Accommodation is also provided for the captain, 4 officers, 22 crew members and two staff members to ensure that guests have the most comfortable and opulent experience on board. She comes with one master tender, one guest tender, one crew tender and 2 jet skis.The sixth project being undertaken is a 66.25 metre twin screw motor yacht, Hull 809. She accommodates twelve guests over 6 luxurious cabins, including four guest suites and a VIP large stateroom which can also be converted into two guest suites on the main deck. The Owner’s suite comes complete with his &amp; hers bathroom facilities, as well as facilities that provide the ultimate exclusivity. This consists of a full Owner’s deck covering the full beam of the yacht and an extendable balcony and lounge area that can be closed off with sliding doors to create a separate room.Hull 809 boasts naval architecture by Feadship, and an interior design by Eidsgaard Design. Her many amenities include a sauna, gym and massage room as well as a 26’ tender, an impressive 28’ tender and 2 wave runners. She can accommodate 17 crew in total.The 57.45 metre motor yacht Hull 810 has, again, been engineered by Feadship, with exterior styling created by Eidsgaard Design in conjunction with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects. She is powered by 2x MTU 12V4000M63 1500 kW engines, and has a fuel capacity of 116,000 litres. She will accommodate 14 crew in total, and comes equipped with one 8.00 metre tender and one 9.00 metre tender.Last but not least, the final project currently underway at the Feadship shipyards is Hull 1005. This superyacht is an imposing 92.10 metres, with a beam of 14.30 metres and draught of 3.85 metres.
