Intuitive systems simplify operations, making even complex situations manageable and promoting a secure onboard environment.Sustainability is becoming indispensable. Features like hybrid propulsion systems significantly reduce fuel consumption and emissions while creating a quieter cruising experience. Solar panels and advanced waste management systems further reduce environmental impact. For instance, all guest cabins are on the main deck with private balconies, offering stunning views and easy outdoor access.&nbsp;Crew quarters are equally prioritised, ensuring a motivated and well-rested team capable of delivering top-tier service. Hybrid propulsion systems, which reduce fuel consumption by up to 70%, reflect our commitment to sustainability. With roof-top exhaust, instead at the aft waterline, there are no noticeable fumes and noises on deck. Full-beam enclosed bridges, inspired by larger vessels, enhance both privacy and operational efficiency. To facilitate this, crew areas must be spacious and designed with their comfort in mind.&nbsp;Charter yachts should also cater to diverse guest needs. Spacious, well-appointed cabins – preferably on the main deck – offer a luxurious retreat. Multi-functional spaces accommodate everything from intimate family gatherings to lively social events. Modern charter clients expect ample storage for water toys, tenders, and other equipment. Crew cabins, starting at 10 square metres, have been singled out as a standout feature, as many catamarans compromise on crew comfort. Such separation not only improves privacy but also boosts operational efficiency.&nbsp;Hybrid propulsion systems and solar power should also become industry norms. These technologies significantly reduce fuel consumption and environmental impact, aligning with the growing demand for sustainability. Redundant critical systems provide an additional layer of safety, particularly for long voyages. High bow heights improve seaworthiness, while spacious crew quarters ensure a well-rested team. The 62-metre superyacht Sealyon was launched by Viareggio Super Yachts in 2009 as the first hull in the shipyard’s 60-metre series. Christened Candyscape II at her launch, today Sealyon is sistership to the 2010-built Roma. Admired for her guest and crew-friendly layout, generous deck spaces and practical engineering solutions, Sealyon has won numerous awards as a class-leading superyacht over the years. Her interior spaces were designed by Candy &amp; Candy, with designer Espen Oeino behind her elegant exterior profile. Here she is seen on the move outside Cannes last week.

Still in build at Viareggio SuperYachts’ facility is the 64 metre project Duchess, designed by Espen Oeino. The yacht forms part of the Italian yard’s 60 metre series including Sealyon and Roma, launched in 2009 and 2010 respectively. Currently in an advanced stage of construction, the yacht is available to be acquired by a client looking for a 60 metre yacht to be completed in within 18 months.

Engines, generators and other auxiliary equipment have already been installed with deck layouts also fixed, however the interior and guest amenities remain largely open to interpretation by the owner.

Construction update on VSY 64m project Duchess

“The Maldives has seen a steady increase in visiting superyachts over the past few years,” according to Maldives Yacht Support Director Abdulla Waheed. The idyllic group of islands situated in the Indian Ocean is currently hosting a large number of high profile private and charter yachts enjoying Caribbean-like weather in a unique environment.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157860/image/large-367404b1109982e988cc60b7e74e5319.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157860">According to Waheed, it is the destination’s endless watersports and diving possibilities along with high end luxury facilities on land that attract superyachts to the islands each year. Last week Viareggio SuperYachts launched the 62 metre Roma. The CNI charter divisions in both Monaco and Fort Lauderdale have been a hive of activity, with new destinations and new central agencies aplenty. CNI Monaco welcome the 37.5m (123’) Palmer &amp; Johnson Galileo G. Build in 1989, she underwent an exterior refit in Palma last year. From the site's launch, clients will be able to compare yachts against each other. Further features of the site will unroll throughout the Spring.
