In pursuit of this goal, they have initiated a takeover process that positions long standing collaborators with similar backgrounds and extensive knowledge of the shipyard's operations for future leadership roles.The three associates set to embark on this human and entrepreneurial adventure are: Gael Douguet: Sales Manager, who first encountered the shipyard in 1999 and joined the team in 2004. Vincent Balouin: Technical and Project Management Director, who became part of the shipyard in 2005, and Dominique Rouchon: Project Manager for Interior Works, who joined the shipyard in 2008.With a collective experience of over 50 years, these new shareholders will work in tandem, guided by the unwavering commitment of Frederic Jaouen as President. Coming from a family of keen sailors and naval architects, Jeremy Comport has been interested and involved in the maritime world since day one. Having built a career as an entrepreneur-broker, Jeremy is now getting comfortable at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/136" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ocean Independence (Company)">Ocean Independence</a> as a leading sales broker. For the past year, he has been working from the French Riviera office on sales and the company’s status in the increasingly thriving Asian market. I terminated with Camper &amp; Nicholsons as I needed a change. I had been speaking with Toby Maclaurin and Peter Hürzeler on and off for a number of years regarding projects, and we found a very nice arrangement where I could work as a broker under Ocean Independence. Ocean Independence then bought a majority stake in my Hong Kong business because my business partner was looking for an exit and wanted to retire, so now Seanergy is a joint venture partnership with Ocean Independence. Under the guidance of Toby, I am responsible for the Asian market predominantly, but also have a number of clients all over the world.&nbsp; What do you enjoy most about the life of a superyacht broker?&nbsp;The single thing I like doing more than anything is negotiating a deal. The boat shows are not my favourite thing as I like getting around the table and thrashing out a deal, and looking at the technicality of the deal as a transaction, and also the yacht. In Monaco, I had a very interested client who is coming back into the market and just wanted a general feel of what is going on, so we visited thirteen boats in one morning. I was exhausted! <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/55002/image/large-b935ed755a25a58e9fd5b317b8d07a6f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/55002">What are the areas of the industry you think most need attention?&nbsp;The most innovation is needed to help the availability of good crew. It is still an issue, having said that, the good owners and good captains attract good crew. In general, if the owners are reasonable, they tend to attract the good crew, but there is a very big disparity between the good crew and poor crew.&nbsp;What would you like to see in the future of the superyacht market?I think what I would like to see is a bigger effort made by companies and owners to understand that if they reduced their charter fees, they could extend the season. The season is too short… ridiculously short! We have had amazing weather in September and the water in the ocean is still warm, but by the end of August the charter season just stops. JFA shipyard has announced the recent delivery of superyacht Axantha II. This yacht was ordered by the owner of first Axantha, built and delivered by JFA in 2003. JFA delivers superyacht Axantha II

The French JFA shipyard has launched hull number 22C, a 43 metre motor yacht on Saturday 19th March 2011. The interior features a large saloon and dining room on the main deck. The wheelhouse is located on the upper deck, as well as the captain’s cabin and the library. On the lower deck are four double guests cabins, the master suite and the crew quarters. JFA Yachts launches 43m superyacht

Vripack started their naval architecture &amp; engineering activities on a 141’ Research Vessel Yacht for a repeat Owner and shipyard in February 2008. This full aluminum motor yacht is a joint effort between France-based JFA shipyard and Vripack and is their third collaboration on a yacht of this size. Now it is time for the parallel but separate constructed hull and superstructure to join forces. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/127587/image/large-adf078d066b41c7edda07180422ffd7f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/127587">The current 122’ Research Vessel delivered in 2003, is actually the base for this new vessel. The new interior layout is quite similar and has minor changes incorporated which are based on the Owner and crew’s experiences. To give the engineer more space for maintenance and inspection of the various on-board machinery &amp; equipment, the engine room is lengthened. The yacht is built under BV and will be flagged following the Madeira rules &amp; regulations. The structural and mechanical details are identical to the previous boat, as far as classification society allows. By using a full 3D environment for the design, the first structural modules were delivered within 6 months. Thanks to the application of these latest technologies, many efficient building methods are incorporated. Both the structural and mechanical system design ran as parallel as possible to ensure tank connections and bulkhead penetrations to be easily incorporated at an early stage during construction. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/127588/image/large-03d006ef0437528bb613b3212a8b9de3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/127588">Vripack made the subcontractors’ building method requirements part of the building kit so they match their procedures and demands. With this new yacht the Owner will have the freedom to navigate without any restrictions, and thus explore and admire every part of the world. Following the success of Axantha (37m) and Bystander (42m), JFA just received an order for a new motor yacht. The profile of the research vessel will be familiar in the design to Axantha, which was delivered in 2003. She will be powered by 2 Cummins engines of 750HP and will have a transatlantic range.
