Launched in 2015 by the Italian shipyard, she features an naval architecture by her builder, while both her interior and exterior design come from the drawing boards of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4304" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Luca Vallebona (Company)">Luca Vallebona</a>, who created a clean and well-balanced interior. With a volume of 490 GT, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5528" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Serenity41.5m (136'2&quot;)Mondomarine SpA2015">Serenity</a> can accommodate as many as 10 guests, with a double-level master suite forward on the upper deck being one of her highlights. After making her debut at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5528" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Serenity41.5m (136'2&quot;)Mondo Marine SpA2015">Serenity</a> then headed to the Middle East where she was on display at the Dubai International Boat Show the following year before returning to Mediterranean waters where she was spotted this summer season. The all-aluminium vessel is fitted with two MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines which give her a top speed of 16 knots, a cruising speed of 15 knots and a range of 4,000 nm at a speed of 12 knots.

Mondomarine’s 40m motor yacht Serenity in Cap d'Ail

There are generally two types of yacht concepts: those that inspire and those that can be built. The Pentagramma concept by Luca Vallebona – the designer of the 41.5-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5528" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Serenity41.5m (136'2&quot;)">Serenity</a> launched by Mondomarine in 2015 – is a rare example of both types in one. The 82-metre motor yacht concept is not only strikingly beautiful with an innovative layout, it is also eminently buildable.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/33487/image/large-c23f9036201098845a9182fcb87611b2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33487"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/33488/image/large-1bc14c21fdabf77691dc70c318753453.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33488">The glass-clad superstructure appears suspended above the hull, an impression reinforced by the vertical brass strips (backlit so that they glow at night) that help to break up the mass of the structure, and by the central V-shaped brace that supports the overhanging upper deck aft instead of the standard pillars.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/33489/image/large-b1a312c05f7a81221ba2ee52ee8ba2a2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33489">The low-rise profile belies an enclosed volume of approximately 2,000 GT and ceiling heights at main deck level of around three metres. This has largely been achieved by introducing some novel layout solutions.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/33490/image/large-de50eafda22baf0251b8d872c2820a78.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33490">For example, instead of plonking the helipad on the foredeck, which features a full-beam pool instead, the heli ops have been relocated to the sundeck. Guests can disembark from the helicopter and be ushered into the semi-covered ‘loggia’ a half-deck below for a welcoming cocktail (from where there is also direct access to the gym and sauna on the bridge deck). This unusual space, which is shaded by a sun awning and has side windows that can be raised to increase the natural ventilation, represents a totally new way of using the top decks as discreet socialising areas. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/33497/image/large-1aafaf93daba5696901b9d9ee3029b51.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33497"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/33498/image/large-a7245dd51bb5d444bdd8c65cbb4b3de0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33498">There is still plenty of space for sun worshippers, principally on the forward and aft main deck. The latter effectively serves as an open-air beach club, with an asymmetrical, terraced arrangement leading down to the swim platform.&nbsp;“Asymmetry is something I’ve been experimenting with for some time,” says the Sardinian designer. “Asymmetry is rare on yachts, but I feel it adds an extra layer to the onboard experience that is both surprising and pleasing.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/33494/image/large-4af8d0186706648f503a844f1d127859.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33494"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/33496/image/large-f8e6c47b3c4cef202f2b09e82e49f4be.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33496">In fact, the interior arrangement features curved bulkheads, winding corridors and even a ‘secret’ bar. Unusually, the full-beam owner’s apartment is placed between the main lobby and the forward tender garage on the main deck. &nbsp;The suite has access to two built-in balconies, one of which has its own pantry, or what Vallebona calls the ‘secret bar’. &nbsp;Located close to the galley, the idea is that the balcony can serve as a cosy corner for the owners to enjoy a quiet breakfast on their own, and was inspired by the hidden service passageways that were often built into the architecture of Italian stately homes.Before setting up on his own in 2013, Vallebona studied architecture and yacht design and worked for Nauta Design in Milan, where he was principally involved in developing the general arrangements of sail and motor yacht designs. This academic and practical experience has given him an astute sense of how to make the most of available volume and link different spaces together intelligently.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/33495/image/large-51f5254d673a7e77f1f1392cdbdaa901.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33495">“There’s a lot of talk about blurring the barrier between exterior and interior on yachts,” says Vallebona. “In most cases, this usually just means putting in bigger windows or sliding glass doors, but that’s only half the battle: you also have to provide better circulation flow between the inside and outside on different deck levels.”By way of example, Vallebona points to the lower deck guest cabins comprising four suites (the full-beam VIP cabin can also be split in two). The accommodation lobby has a stairway leading directly to the main deck beach club, so guests can step out of their cabins and can go straight outside without having to first reconnoitre corridors and lifts (in fact, the low-rise Pentagramma has been designed on purpose without elevators). &nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/33499/image/large-69a3a3f18f353680181ffbdb290bf108.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33499">The engine room is amidships and to avoid noise and vibration from drive shafts passing under the guest accommodation, Pentagramma is designed to have diesel-electric propulsion with pod thrusters. Forward of the engine room is a spa area with hammam and massage room and a dedicated garage for a mini-sub.Vallebona designed the Pentagramma concept principally for himself while waiting for an exclusivity agreement with Mondomarine to play out as the Italian shipyard slipped into bankruptcy. As such, he was free to explore alternative ideas and solutions that would have been harder to pursue had he been working for an individual client or shipyard.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/33491/image/large-1981a1a3da62246db6d29a48e617d4fa.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/33491">The result is a concept that is fresh and bold, exciting and dynamic but turns heads without resorting to the styling equivalent of shouting. Pentagramma is likely to appeal to the emerging younger generation of owners unimpressed by the lavish but largely conventional design solutions that have represented the superyacht lifestyle to date.

Serenity left Mondomarine’s facilities in Savona on 20th January, and sailed across the Mediterranean Sea, passing Messina and reaching the Suez Canal a week later. After a stop at Salalah in Oman on 5th February, she arrived in Dubai on February 9th. The complete journey measured a distance of 4,500 miles.

Since her launch a few months ago, Serenity has enjoyed a very positive reaction from the industry, and has been shortlisted as a finalist for both the World Superyachts Awards 2016 and ShowBoat Design Awards 2016. At the end of the Dubai International Boat Show, Serenity is scheduled to leave for a Persian and Oman Gulf tour lasting two weeks, reaching Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Oman.

The 41m superyacht Serenity completes first transoceanic voyage

Making her official debut at the latest edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, the all aluminium vessel Serenity was completed earlier this year by the Italian shipyard Mondomarine. The 41.50 metre superyacht features both interior and exterior design by Luca Vallebona of SF Yachts, and is the inaugural unit of the Mondomarine SF line. Mondomarine describe the line as, “a new concept born to provide a clean and well-balanced design together with a new conception of internal and external volumes and layout.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157001/image/large-eba5835b133afea32d7c33ad11ef375e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157001">Her interior design by Dubai-based designer Fatema Almaidan from SFL Design created a chic, colourful and contemporary ambiance throughout, with Luca Vallebona utilising a wide range of colours and textiles to achieve the end result. The expertly diverse colour palettes and themes are demonstrated in the contrast between guest and owner cabins. On board, Serenity accommodates up to ten guests over four spacious guest rooms all located on the lower deck in addition to the luxurious owner’s suite.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157002/image/large-5ad529d7ba1d780b712213089e778ae5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157002">The guest cabins consist of two large VIP suites as well as two twin cabins, each with their own sophisticated en suite facilities. Pictured below is one of the opulent VIP suites, with rich mustard yellow upholstery teamed with a vibrant green and pink focal art piece hanging above the plush bed. Unique decorative items complete the look, as well as a large desk area facing out towards the window. The bathroom continues the bright and contemporary theme of the bedroom, with beautiful marble surfaces, mottled in earthy tones of green and, again, mustard yellow.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157003/image/large-80e4b146483a2605a89a16aa6392a670.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157003">The owner’s suite is particularly grand and impressive, boasting an interesting layout divided over two semi-levels: the upper part of this area is fully immersed in the surroundings, with a panoramic open view to the fore. The large bed is found in the centre of this space, looking out to uninterrupted views from the enviously large windows and offering the owner a peaceful retreat. A sofa, two seating areas and a desk are also found in this area, as well as access to the balcony.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157004/image/large-40d1c33268de2613d9f416fb976dbecf.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157004">The lower area of the extraordinary owner’s suite is more intimate and private, with light coming from the top and from the sides and creating a relaxing, welcoming ambiance. The expansive en suite bathroom and dressing area is luxuriously spacious, with a large free standing bathtub in the centre of the room. The colour scheme throughout these spaces is slightly more subtle than found in the VIP cabins, utilising white, cream and different shades of blue to offer a more serene and tranquil space.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157005/image/large-6624b84802240dec39271056dc1c78bf.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157005">On the owner’s deck, a snug saloon and cinema area is also found. This space features three sumptuous red sofas, with plenty of huge cushions for guests to lounge on. With a black and glass coffee table in the middle of the sofa arrangement, a considerable widescreen T.V. is placed on the wall directly in front.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157006/image/large-71d15e23a97deb5185d38d71fc35e7c7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157006">Elsewhere inside, the main saloon and dining area is located on the main deck, surrounded by floor to ceiling windows which flood the area with natural light and allow guests to enjoy spectacular views when socialising or entertaining inside.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157007/image/large-159662c632cd2637427c5cc7b4a631b8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157007">Two large, plush sofas in a charcoal grey colour sit opposite one another, with a stylish fireplace placed in the low partition between the saloon and the dining area. When darkness falls in the evening with the fire burning, the saloon is a cosy haven for relaxation at nighttime.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157008/image/large-731a1cce5a003cfaf81ba13dad10624d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157008">The formal dining area sits in front of an entirely mirrored wall, giving the illusion of almost double the space inside as well as reflecting the ample amounts of natural light from the large windows. Immediately entering the area, you are confronted with a refined, bright white sofa, with a coffee table and two armchairs placed in front. First look on board Mondomarine SF40 Serenity

Following her launch last week in which SuperYacht Times’ Merijn de Waard attended, here are some of the first photographs of the 41 metre superyacht Serenity. Built by Mondomarine and part of their new SF line, she is constructed entirely in aluminium and features exteriors by Luca Vallebona, with interior design undertaken by SFL Design in collaboration with Luca Vallebona.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156279/image/large-75011b254dab89169ea7dd57d4288b1f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156279">Up to 10 guests are accommodated on board, and she features a double-level master suite forward on the upper deck. MYS Exclusive: Mondomarine's new 41m superyacht Serenity

Mondomarine will be showcasing the first yacht in their new SF line, the 42.30m SF40 Serenity. This all aluminium yacht was designed by Luca Vallebona in partnership with Mondomarine Engineering, who managed to rethink the industry-standard design when it comes to interior and exterior guest areas, creating something truly unique.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/155624/image/large-35b8acf664d2e790afde41363db66e48.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/155624">Developed to stand out from the superyacht crowd in terms of layout and functionality, Serenity’s exterior lines might just be the only aspect she has in common with other yachts in this size range.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/155625/image/large-32f6107132db295d06d2cbcb4daedd2a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/155625">The double-level master suite forward on the upper deck is an innovative way of creating a loft-style atmosphere and making the absolute most of the available space by separating the sleeping area above, with a staircase leading down to the en-suite below. Mondomarine to present superyacht Serenity at Monaco Yacht Show

The Italian shipyard Mondomarine has revealed a new logo and website as part of their aim to construct a new identity for the brand. In addition, the company has also launched a new advertising campaign, with their new philosophy demonstrated in the tagline, ‘the next sea level’. The rebranding of Mondomarine comes after the company was acquired by Mr. Falciai and Mr. Zambrini.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/153579/image/large-6051925d74138ee2e7cfa54c710b0411.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/153579">Cantieri Navali Campanella will become the set for the production, the repair and refit offer and the showroom activities, but Mondomarine will continue to design, engineer and build yachts at the Savona Cantieri Navali Campanella production site, still offering full-cycle production right from the cutting of the hull plates all the way to completion.Mondomarine states, “The core idea is that constant evolution and striving for improvement are fundamental to achieve always the best result, that is why for Mondomarine the sea level is not enough if it’s possible to raise the bar.”Upcoming deliveries for the shipyard include the 40 metre SF40, which is schedule to be completed later this year. In 2016, the M50 and M60 superyachts will also be delivered, the M60 being the first 60 metre vessel built by the brand, and all the yachts mentioned will be constructed entirely of aluminium. Mondomarine unveils new identity

Just a couple of months following the sale of the M60, Mondo Marine has now announced the sale of the the SF40, another semi-displacement project by Mondo Marine Engineering designed by Luca Vallebona. The project was sold by Mondo Marine’s agent in the Middle East, SF Yachts.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/147344/image/large-ae5a46820a8eedbabcffd4285291e56c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/147344">This is the first unit of the Mondo Marine SF line, a new concept born to provide a clean and well balanced design together with a new conception of internal and external volumes and layout. The yacht has four guest cabins on the lower deck and an owner cabin on the main deck with unusual dimensions and layout.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/147345/image/large-f6e3fa0f7fde7139d4db11ce4295ea85.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/147345">The owner’s cabin is placed on the main deck, and consists of two levels, with the bedroom placed on the main deck forward, benefitting from 180 degree views, and the en-suite placed half a deck lower, for maximum privacy.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/147346/image/large-d563ef14cf2b407a869cfb2b258a3bc0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/147346">The bridge comes in the form of a raised pilothouse, above the owners cabin, almost completely hidden from view, keeping the profile of the yacht as low as possible.\<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/147347/image/large-222b385cf32de7a603af251c4d14f1ba.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/147347">With an overall length of 41.50m, an overall beam of 8.80m, and aluminium hull and superstructure, the SF40 will reach a maximum speed of 16 knots.
