The series is the shipyard’s first multihull, utilising the catamaran platform that has been growing in popularity over recent years with the offerings of wide interior volumes and increased stability.&nbsp;The hull design is based on the same lightweight low-resistance technology found on the Silver Series yachts. At 35.9m in length, 13.3m beam and 480 GT, the yacht can achieve large areas comprising approximately 490m² combined outdoor spaces and 374m² internal spaces.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/251534/image/large-c808164e5136a81cc5d5fd5fbab0abe9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/251534"> <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Espen Øino</a> International has created a unique exterior styling that mimics the Silver Series’ characteristically minimalistic, sleek and slender aesthetics. Spread over three decks including a spacious versatile sun deck, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Øino</a> has maximised the impact of glazing across the lower two decks that highlights the eye-catching bulwark design linking the two decks at bow and stern. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/251544/image/large-b61287826cc3a4b94ea00c1e48d29cc4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/251544">This instantly recognisable exterior has been combined with vibrant interior styling that perfectly utilises the yacht’s open plan and spacious volume. The interior design takes full advantage of that impressive volume with clean lines framing the large windows and allowing for uninterrupted views throughout the main deck. The clever use of timber tones gives a much-needed warmth whilst maintaining the open-plan style of living.The yacht’s sun deck is without a doubt one of the top features of the SpaceCat. With 360° views of the ocean, the sun deck is the ideal place to enjoy the company of family and friends with its bar, an array of seating options and, with the removal of the tender and Jet Skis, its spacious aft deck. Grab a drink and relax by the pool on the sun pads or cool off in the partly shaded pool. Monaco Yacht Show is without a doubt one of the cornerstones of the industry, and it's had quite a journey. SYT dives into the history of the event.

The Australia-based shipbuilder was founded by Guido Krass together with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Espen Øino</a> in 2005 with a simple vision: deliver sleek, fast and efficient all-aluminium superyachts. In 2019 it launched one of the most iconic superyachts of the decade: the 85.3-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6018" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bold85.3m (279'10&quot;)Silver Yachts2019">Bold</a>.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/187254/image/large-a7635d0a14a19de89142821d5c1d47ac.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/187254">The superyacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6018" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bold85.3m (279'10&quot;)Silver Yachts2019">Bold</a> caused quite the stir and the Australian shipyard is gearing up to launch the second unit from the series, the 85-metre Globalfast, with a delivery date slated for October of this year. However, even though <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/899" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Yachts (Company)">SilverYachts</a> has seen success with these major monohull projects, and currently has a design for a 79.5-metre superyacht on the market, Silver Edge, the shipyard is on a new trajectory: catamarans. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/172379/image/large-f14ce4a39b9d91d29dcbf2d550c9e0f2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/172379"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/172380/image/large-d5c418aeba13d3d07ad901ff806bc2d4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/172380">“Most clients choose volume over speed and efficiency, so our superyacht range is pretty niche,” Toonen confessed. “The image of superyachts portrayed through social media is also becoming increasingly critical. With growing demands for bigger and better, they’re becoming unsustainable – and they’re getting slammed online because of it.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/221630/image/large-79ec0f5d2d55daaa9d5f2a1e78b66d0c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/221630">The market is reflective of this cultural change around yachting and multihull builders have been going from strength-to-strength. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Espen Øino</a> anticipated this shift, and his foresight seems to be bang on the money. It’s <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Øino</a> behind the design of this new directive of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/899" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Yachts (Company)">SilverYachts</a>, as the Monaco-based studio penned the design for the SpaceCat series.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/119386/image/large-25e4bac6ef5b341b9842edf948234b21.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/119386">Toonen explained the ethos of the series: “The basic idea was to design a large floating platform with accommodation; the logical move was then catamarans. Two slim hulls joined together creating space. Rather than buying one large superyacht, our clients can purchase several SpaceCats that they can dot around the world. The second hull from the series will follow the first as she’ll be built in China, however the third will be built at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/899" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Yachts (Company)">SilverYachts</a>’ facilities in Australia.&nbsp;The SpaceCat series will also expand with a 24-metre model.

With <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6018" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bold85.0m (278'10&quot;)Silver Yachts2019">Bold</a> being, without a doubt, one of the most distinctive superyachts in the entire fleet, it is no surprise that the Australian shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/899" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Yachts (Company)">SilverYachts</a>’ latest design,&nbsp;Silver Edge, cuts a unique and striking figure. At 79.5-metres, this all-aluminium superyacht shares her aggressive styling, but now with an even more streamlined and refined aesthetic reminiscent of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/4302" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Silver Fast77.0m (252'7&quot;)Silver Yachts2015">Silver Fast</a>.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/203133/image/large-e2b16e116e327488ab4b9251f2e7248e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/203133">Designed by famed superyacht designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/82" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Espen Øino International (Company)">Espen Øino</a>, from above Silver Edge looks like the blade of a knife, cutting through the water, with a sharp line from bow to stern. Her steely silver hull is interrupted by two dark rectangles of glazing, stretching from stern to midships at the upper and main deck. At the bow, the fore of her upper decks gently cascade in tiers to the main foredeck, an expansive space with a touch-and-go helipad.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/203123/image/large-a59890a41853db832a962b9c837ecf86.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/203123">Angular lines and generous deck space characterise this impressive superyacht. With a 1,030 GT she can accommodate as many as 18 guests between eight staterooms, including a 95 square-metre master suite with a custom en suite and a private owners saloon on the upper deck. The team have collaborated to create a transatlantic yacht that is prepared for any adventure. The prime example of this is the concealed crane on the aft deck which can lift a 9-metre tender into place for secure storage during long passages. When at anchor, the tender is launched, revealing a 5-metre long pool with an integrated glass bottom illuminating the lower beach club and lounge. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/203137/image/large-510c65262c53d3e08f8b30789b5c2113.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/203137">This aft deck also features a large U-shaped sofa, dining table and can be covered by a shaded bimini to protect guests from the midday sunshine. This area also features a glass enclosed winter garden. Down at the beach club, guests can exploit this area with its submersible transom and swim platform to make your time in the water as safe and enjoyable as possible. The owner’s private terrace at the aft of the upper deck has its own lounge and bar, while the sun deck has all the ingredients for a perfect evening watching the sun go down. Innovation in motion: Yachting’s revolutions captured in action

Rabdan&nbsp;The first in an innovative line of highly efficient superyachts, Rabdan (launched as Silver) led the way of SilverYachts’ ultra cool Silver Series of yachts. Built under the Hanseatic Marine brand, the shipyard today operates under its new name and has since 2007 delivered another three superyachts in the series including Dragonfly, Smeralda and Silver Fast.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/20144/image/large-071b202e80d3dca807fc10102a351e9d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/20144">White RabbitOne of Australia’s largest superyachts by volume, the 61.4-metre trimaran White Rabbit was built by North West Bay Yachts in Tasmania in 2005 to a design by local Aussie designer Sam Sorgiovanni. The aluminium specialists are currently working on a larger, 84-metre version of White Rabbit for the same owner. Australia Day: Top 5 superyachts from Down Under

First named Silver Zwei, Dragonfly took on her current name in 2011 after being sold to her new owners. Spending much of her time on in the Pacific, Dragonfly is best known for her exemplary aid work following the devastating 2015 Cyclone Pam that hit the island of Vanuatu. The yacht and her crew delivered much-needed assistance through supplies and rebuilding efforts to remote communities on the island. Sunday wrapped up four days of boat show fun as the 2017 Singapore Yacht Show came to an end with the customary blowing of horns by the 94 yachts moored in Sentosa Cove’s One°15 Marina. After welcoming 14,286 visitors through its gates over the course of the event, many who attended the show agreed that this year would go down as the ‘best ever edition’.

The SYS had its largest yacht on display yet this year, the 77-metre Silver fast with many of the exhibitors choosing to debut their new models at the show. “We saw plenty of good quality clients, and we are optimistic about a sale,” commented Guido Krass, owner of SilverYachts in Australia and builder of Silver Fast. “Our competitors were also happy to be able to show a superyacht of superior quality - if we want to develop the Asian market, we have to let everyone on board to promote the top end of the industry.”

In addition to the luxury yachts on display, visitors were treated to a glamorous programme of supercar parades, fashion shows, yacht parties, gourmet food stalls and an array of pop-up bars.

Gulf Craft’s Mahmoud Itani comments on a successful show for the Middle Eastern yachting brand: “Gulf Craft have been present at all seven Singapore shows now, and we fully intend to continue our presence in 2018. The Show feels very positive this year - there have definitely been more visitors, more serious buyers having more fun, and we like the new opening times.”

2017 SYS marked as ‘best ever edition’

The Singapore Yacht Show opens its doors today for the seventh time as the region’s most important yachting event welcomes international press, luxury brands, superyacht owners, and marine enthusiasts to the ONE15 Marina Club in Sentosa Cove.

The event has once again attracted some of the largest superyachts cruising in the area including the 65-metre Ambrosia by Benetti and SilverYachts’ 77-metre Silver Fast, amongst others. Many luxury yachting brands have decided on the Singapore Yacht Show as the premier event to introduce their top yachts to the Asian market. This year is no different with several world-first yachts on display.

The Singapore Yacht Show brings together all the best in the luxury business and this year visitors can once again look forward to a display of fine jewellery, innovations in the aviation industry and some of the most luxurious supercars available, not to mention a variety of exclusive social events over the course of the show.

The show will be open from 15:00 – 21:00 this year and runs until Sunday 9 April.

Joining the company December last year as Managing Director of the new Burgess office in Dubai, previous General Manager of the Dubai Marina Yacht Club, Jonathan Hind, is spearheading Burgess’s plans to expand their markets in the Middle East. SYT spoke to Hind recently, who offered his insights into the Middle Eastern market and the company’s expansion plans.

Running a marina is a very different job than selling yachts. Is the experience you gained from running a marina helpful in running a regional office of a yacht brokerage company?

In many ways that is correct. There are some key differences, but there are also great synergies, and these are amplified in a society like Dubai. In my previous role the daily management of the marina and yacht club was actually only about 10% of the job: a standard week for me could start with a board presentation and end up on a cruising rally with 30 boats in Oman. In the same way, yes, we sell yachts but Burgess also provides yacht owners and clients with support through every aspect of their yachting life, from operational management and crew services to charter and new build supervision. It is my role to work across these services with our experienced team of brokers and managers to ensure our clients in the Middle East receive the same Burgess standard of service as offered by any of our other offices.

The fact that I’ve come from a different background actually adds value as it broadens our expertise and every day we are learning something new together. I also bring to the company a strong network and a sound understanding of doing business in the region. Burgess recognises that in order to run a regional office successfully it is critically important to have a team with sound cultural and business awareness. It is a business model that is working well for us in Asia and we are confident in the groundwork we are laying here. At the end of the day it all comes down to building and maintaining strong client relationships by providing excellent customer service and trustworthy advice. Add that to a lifelong passion for boating and being on the water and for me Burgess is a natural fit.

Is yacht charter popular amongst clients from the Middle East and do you think that will grow?

In short, yes and yes! We have a long and proud history of serving customers from the Middle East and our global charter team is well versed in providing exceptional charter experiences for clients from this part of the world. We are talking together today following the Dubai Show where we had the very special opportunity to showcase the brand new 70-metre Feadship Joy for charter. This exceptional yacht was very well received by our clients and we also saw considerable interest in the 77-metre Silver Fast which we represent for both sale and charter. We are also closely involved with charters for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix each year, undoubtedly one of the highlights of the UAE’s calendar.

Do you think that there is enough diversity in the cruising grounds around Dubai to charter a yacht for a longer period of time or will it mostly be day trips?

There is certainly some good cruising to be done in Dubai and the UAE and we are also seeing more clients keen to explore Dubai as a destination in itself. While these are not likely to be long trips it’s fair to say that cruising out of Dubai on a yacht is undoubtedly the best way to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. More importantly though, the remarkable Maldives are only a five hour flight from here and offer some of the most exquisite cruising grounds in the world. Some of the best yachts from the Burgess fleet now include the Maldives in their annual itineraries which presents very exciting opportunities for us here in Dubai.

The percentage of yachts above 80-metres that are owned by clients from the Middle East is very high, below that LOA is a different story. Do you think there is an opportunity to sell more yachts between 30 and 80-metres to clients from the region?

It’s true that we are privileged to be working for the owners of some of the largest yachts in the region and as we all know, yachts just keep getting bigger. The future business prospects in this sector will undoubtedly be very interesting, but we are also working with clients and yacht owners across a wide spectrum and are finding that some owners enjoy the flexibility that comes from smaller boats. A new generation of yacht owners is emerging – enthusiasts who are not only looking for size and comfort but are increasingly interested in the activities offered on board, the watertoys their yacht carries, its range and the destinations it can access. This is something I saw in my previous role and it’s apparent that the midsize market will become increasingly important over the coming years.

Are your clients mainly from the Middle East or does the expat community in the region diversify that?

We have a range of clients from all over the world. Our clients work with professionals they trust and while many of our clients prefer to work with a broker based in their own time zone, we recognise that the nature of their business is often international and as such, so is our service offering. Don’t forget that Dubai in itself is a very international destination – it really is a 21st century crossroads. Our new Dubai operation is the natural development of our long-standing commitment to the Middle East region but I have no doubt that we are attracting further business by building a strong physical presence here. Our intention is very much to provide the Burgess expertise to clients through the right combination of our global, multilingual and multinational team of brokers and managers.

Do you see an opportunity for Burgess to manage more yachts for clients from the Middle East?

This is a really key service that will be especially important as the superyacht industry and its infrastructure are still in the early stages of development in the region. We believe that we have the best management offering in the industry and having spent a number of years here I feel we are well placed to provide a professional and unrivalled management service to local clients. But it’s not simply a question of parachuting in with a ‘standard’ yacht management package. We know that clients are looking for a customised service that is tailored to how they use their yacht, how they live their lives and, crucially, what professional services are available within the region. We are not underestimating the importance of local knowledge, cultural awareness and regional expertise. We already manage a number of significant yachts owned by GCC nationals and clients in the wider Middle East region and are optimistic that business will build as news spreads of our expertise and experience.

We are under no illusions that building our business here will take time and investment, but we are fortunate in that we already have a strong and credible track record in the region with excellent foundations to build upon.

Insight: Burgess’s Middle Eastern expansion

The 25th edition of the Dubai International Boat Show will kick off tomorrow. This year’s show, that runs until 4th March, has attracted once again a global fleet of superyachts cruising the region. Feadship’s 70-metre Joy will be making an appearance along with the 77-metre Silver Fast. The largest yacht on offer by local yacht builder Gulf Craft, the Majesty 155, is another yacht that visitors can look forward to seeing. Monte Carlo Yachts will be displaying their highly custom and illuminated MCY 86 yacht for the first time this week. Take a look at these and other yachts that will be on display this year, here:

Superyachts on display at DIBS 2017

The SYT team is well known throughout the industry for our dedication to capturing some of the world’s most impressive superyachts in the flesh. From travelling through the Netherlands following the transport of superyachts such as Feadship’s Joy, to jumping in a plane above the North Sea to shoot Kismet on the last leg of her Atlantic crossing, to capturing unique shots of iconic vessels such as M/Y A in Iceland and the European boat shows - our photographer Tom van Oossanen is always ready to deliver clients and readers original content.

Lionheart

During the MYS 2016 Benetti’s 90 metre superyacht Lionheart was anchored off Monaco. We didn’t hesitate to hire a helicopter to capture the only aerial shots of Lionheart at the Show.

SilverFast

Taking photos of a superyacht as iconic as SilverFast will always be a special event. Her beautiful lines and special colour makes it a pleasure for a photographer to work with.

Dilbar

The biggest superyacht in the world by gross tonnage, Dilbar is captured here on her maiden trip from Germany. It was a cold weekend in May when the SYT team took a car, then a ferry and then a plane to spot this beauty hitting the waves. A day later the team was again back in the plane, this time travelling to Iceland to capture another stunning vessel, M/Y A.

Kismet

Spotted by the SYT team while cruising the North Sea on a cold saturday at the end of March is this Espen Oeino designed superyacht Kismet. Her sharp lines and unique colour make her a favourite for any yachting enthusiast.

Queen Miri

After an extensive refit at Amico in Italy, Queen Miri made her appearance during the MYS 2016 at anchor off Monaco. With her new paint job and extended hull and superstructure, she looks brand new once again. As quality photos of Queen Miri were limited,  the SYT team decided to get in the chopper and document her from every angle.

Ulysses

This unique 107 metre explorer superyacht is a hot topic in the entire industry. With her story being followed by SYT from the early days of construction we don’t skip any chance to extend our database with unique photography of this stunning vessel. Here she was pictured from the air while helicopter operations were in full swing during MYS 2016.

Quantum Blue

Delivered in 2015 by Lürssen is this 104 metre superyacht designed by Tim Heywood. A project closely followed by the SYT team from the very beginning, we again jumped into the helicopter during the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix to see her from every angle possible. A truly original series of photos was taken by SYT photographer, Tom van Oossanen.

A

Maybe the most photographed superyacht on the planet is the 119 metre M/Y A, built by Blohm &amp; Voss. Her exterior design is one of a kind and with her currently being up for sale, the interior has finally been released to the industry as well. SYT travelled to many locations to see her, Iceland, Formentera, Monaco, Amsterdam and Rotterdam and took photos of her of every angle which have been shared on social media worldwide.

The 2016 edition of Yachts Miami Beach will kick off tomorrow in Florida for five days. This year sees the show boast around 500 yachts on display, including several new world debuts, including the Princess S86; the Astondoa Century 110; Azimut 66; Azimut Magellano 66; Benetti Crystal 140; Sanlorenzo SD112; and the Sanlorenzo SL86.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/158321/image/large-58c8f79753dcced53c0e81e49d40cbcb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/147163">"There's no better place than Miami Beach for yacht builders to present their new designs to a sophisticated global audience," said Dane Graziano, Chief Operating Officer for Show Management, the company that produces Yachts Miami Beach and co-owns the show with the Florida Yacht Brokers Association. Yachts Miami Beach 2016 to kick off tomorrow

As 2015 draws to a close, here we take a look at some of the most special superyacht launches that have taken place over the past 12 months.Project Omar<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157588/image/large-c15bfb0670229b436d1ec81487589d76.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157588">Launched by the German shipyard Lürssen in mid-November, Project Omar is a highly secretive project that is being kept tightly under wraps. She is the largest vessel to be launched this year and, at a length of 156 metres, it is known that she will be the fourth largest superyacht in the world upon her delivery. Though her specs are yet to be revealed, it is speculated that she could possibly be the world’s largest yacht by gross tonnage.Atlante<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157589/image/large-135debf7b7380a785e45646b2a0971a9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157589">Atlante is easily one of the most talked about yachts of the year. She measures 55 metres in length and was launched by the CRN shipyard in May. Her exterior design comes from Nuvolari &amp; Lenard, whilst Gilles &amp; Boissier undertook her interior design. The five deck superyacht is equipped with two Caterpillar engines that push her to a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots. She is fully customised and draws on some stylistic features similar to those found on military vessels.Savannah<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157590/image/large-31fbb269185083fe91d070518786ed15.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157590">Launched at the very beginning of the year on January 25th by Dutch shipyard Feadship, the revolutionary superyacht Savannah measures 83.5 metres. Savannah is the first hybrid powered yacht, and boasts an impressive set of eco-friendly and efficient designs, such as her low resistance hull shape, and a single efficient speed Wärtsilä diesel engine that drives a central propeller shaft linked to a variable pitch propeller. A unique underwater lounge is also on offer where guests can experience the underwater life from the comfort of their seats.Silver Fast<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157591/image/large-15b341efe4a867cd06a8b11142042962.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157591">The 77.10 metre all-aluminium vessel Silver Fast was launched by the Australian brand SilverYachts in March this year, marking the fourth superyacht in the yard’s inaugural Silver series. She is the most advanced eco fuel-efficient vessel in the series, and boasts designs by the internationally renowned Espen Øino.Yersin<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157592/image/large-174fc249449c8eca4fc88018fcb61ff8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157592">Coming in at 76.60 metres, the expedition superyacht Yersin was launched at the end of January. Constructed by the French shipyard Piriou at the specific request of her owner, she is the very first luxury vessel to come from the yard, who are widely known throughout the maritime industry for their commercial vessels. She is the inaugural yacht in the brand’s Navire de Voyage series of explorer yachts from Piriou.Suerte<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157593/image/large-790fbece883a8880be3b2e0bf6965bf9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157593">Launched by the Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts in early July, the 69 metre superyacht Suerte (meaning Dreams in Italian) was revealed to the industry at the latest edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, where she was one of the most talked about vessels of the event. She features exterior design by Francesco Paszkowski, with her interior spaces coming from the drawing board of Margherita Casprini.Aquijo<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157594/image/large-b0ec0d0aeb0d5e7e0c314e3f722e4d3f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157594">Aquijo was launched from Dutch shipyard Oceanco in May after having worled closely together with fellow Dutch yacht builder and main contractor of the project, Vitters. Measuring 86 metres, upon completion the ketch will be one of the largest sailing yachts in the world. She features naval architecture and exterior design by Tripp Design Naval architects, whilst Dölker + Voges undertook her luxurious interiors.Sailing Yacht A<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157595/image/large-6d9e69921e0a41a2b6f90a0b2783c37e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157595">One of the most highly anticipated sailing yachts perhaps of all time is the spectacular Sailing Yacht A (known as White Pearl throughout her construction). At 142.8 metres, she will comfortably top the list of the world’s largest ever sailing yachts upon completion. Though specific details are yet to be made public, we believe that she has a gross tonnage of 10,000. She will have three masts and is scheduled to be delivered to her owner in 2016.Lady Lara<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157596/image/large-fa7484e1553e1cfb7877d24c38001117.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157596">Another spectacular launch in 2015 from Lürssen is the 91 metre Lady Lara, also known as Project Orchid throughout her build. SuperYacht Times recently pictured the vessel in Amsterdam, where she became the largest ever yacht tied up in the centre of the city on the IJ river. She is the second yacht in the yard’s Silver Series, following the 2009 Rabdan (ex. Silver) and preceding the 2012 Smeralda and 2015 Silver Fast. Dragonfly made headlines earlier this year for leading relief efforts in aid of stricken communities on the island of Vanuatu, following a devastating cyclone that hit the region. Silver Yachts’ 73m superyacht Dragonfly in Majuro

One of the most talked-about yachts of the year has to be the striking SilverYachts 77m Silver Fast. With a catchy name and sporty dark silver paint job, she was a hit across all social media platforms this past season, attention that accumulated into being awarded the Finest Yacht at the Show at this year’s Monaco yacht Show. With Silver Fast, something has clearly changed about the yard and their way of promoting their product, and there could have been no better ambassador of the shipyard than Silver Fast herself.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157134/image/large-140654e86a03b1bb4faba569f1f7775a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157134">The world’s largest and fastest aluminium yacht with conventional propulsion is a title Silver Fast shares with her 77m sister Smeralda. Together they form part of the Silver Series with Rabdan and Dragonfly making up the remainder of the fleet. Espen Oeino’s streamlined exterior design has become characteristic to the fleet and focusses on a length to beam ratio that enables the yacht to cruise efficiently at higher speeds. Silver Fast brilliantly portrays this approach with her monotone colour scheme and appropriate name sign.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157135/image/large-94db7f5772a460460779426c4535aad5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157135">Silver Fast resembles the most advanced yacht in the series thus far, dripping with high tech features, with design and construction methods not very unlike those found in the aircraft business. This comes as no surprise when you you consider Silver Fast’s unmatched long range cruising capabilities, boasting an impressive reach of 4,500nm at 18 knots and an even greater 6,200nm while maintaining a speed of 14 knots. Tedious Atlantic crossings are a thing of the past while cruising on Silver Fast, able to cross the pond at a lightning speed of approximately 22 knots. All these performance figures are made possible through her two compact MTU engines delivering 2720kW of power each. Although compact in size, the layout of this deck has been designed in such a way to offer guests a choice between various social and relaxing areas spread out along the length of the sundeck. An outdoor lounge, informal dining areas, a central bar area as well as a plush sunpad forward that overlooks the foredeck and beyond, is but the start of Silver Fast’s numerous exterior amenities. A grand lounge is placed at the very aft with a bar and service station separating this from the dining area which can cleverly be secluded through a series of linking glass panels, providing a protected environment for up to 20 dining guests. Built by Australian shipyard SilverYachts, the 77 metre SilverFast was launched in March this year. She follows in the footsteps of the yard’s Silver series sister ships, 73.5 metre Rabdan (ex. Silver), the 73.5 metre Dragonfly (ex. Mercury, SilverZwei) in 2009, and the 77 metre Smeralda launched in 2012. SilverFast is said to be highly fuel-efficient and eco-friendly. She has been designed by Espen Øino, and retains the super-sleek contour and unique hull lines of her predecessors but with a newly envisaged interior design package. Exclusive preview: SilverYachts preparing launch of 77m SilverFast

Several superyacht builders have signed up to join the Singapore Yacht Show 2015 line-up, including Amels, Mondo Marine, and Westport Yachts.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151825/image/large-d866905e7cfd18a701a3fe7786d333dd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/148262">2015 will be the first time that Amels exhibits in the Singapore Show. Victor Caminada, marketing manager at Amels commented: “We see the Singapore Yacht Show developing as the Asian ‘hub’ for yachting events as it has the best capacity to host high-calibre superyachts, drawing potential high net worth clients to meet Amels and discuss building a yacht with us.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151826/image/large-ea932d49cdde5479ca2eddc31d515532.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/150738">Italian superyacht builder Mondo Marine will also be exhibiting at the Singapore Yacht Show 2015 for the first time. Superyacht builders sign up for Singapore Yacht Show 2015

Australian shipyard Silver Yachts has recently confirmed their presence at the Singapore Yacht Show (SYS) 2015. One of the most paramount yachting events in Asia, this will be Silver Yachts first time exhibiting at the annual show where they plan to display their latest superyacht, Silver Fast, for her world debut.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151786/image/large-45c5419520bfd582ef374489778c3463.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/150690">The 77 metre superyacht is currently in the final stages of construction, and the Silver Yachts team are reportedly working hard to ensure her presence in April. Designed by Espen Øino, the motor yacht has a sleek, aerodynamic hull form and superstructure and is not only the largest vessel to be built by the company to date, but will also be the longest vessel ever presented at SYS.
