As the sun set over a calming Port Hercule last year on the Thursday of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/122" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Monaco Yacht Show - 2022">2022 Monaco Yacht Show</a>, the energy was electric slightly further up the hill in the frescoed grand hall of the Hôtel Hermitage. The evening belonged to <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> and the excitement was palpable; the Italian luxury yacht builder had teased that it’ll reveal an all-new model line, and the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> B.Century family didn’t disappoint. Six months on and the builder has even more to share. &nbsp;<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266289/image/large-20a9ab773936234c6033d42bd75478bd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266289">The B.Century family, comprising five models with an LOA ranging from 55-metres to 75-metres .has been designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, who also designed for the shipyard the multi-awarded 63m Metis (recently renamed <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5920" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artisan63.0m (206'8&quot;)Benetti SpA2019">Artisan</a>,) the 67m <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/8735" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Calex67.0m (219'10&quot;)Benetti SpA2022">Calex</a>, 69m <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Spectre69.2m (227'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2018">Spectre</a>, 65m <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7935" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Triumph65.4m (214'7&quot;)Benetti SpA2021">Triumph</a>, 108m <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5856" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Luminosity107.6m (353'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2020">Luminosity</a>, to name but a few. “To understand the family it’s best to cast our minds back to 2019 and the delivery of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5920" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artisan63.0m (206'8&quot;)Benetti SpA2019">Artisan</a>,” Cassetta explained. “<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5920" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artisan63.0m (206'8&quot;)Benetti SpA2019">Artisan</a> has what I like to define as a timeless design; she’s unmistakably a <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> but at the same time we wanted to unclutter her styling.” Her success is well documented, winning award after award, and her platform replicated for five further deliveries, the most recent being the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/8735" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Calex67.0m (219'10&quot;)Benetti SpA2022">Calex</a> which hit the water earlier this year. But she’s also the bedrock for the B.Century family.&nbsp;From the design of one yacht – <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5920" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artisan63.0m (206'8&quot;)Benetti SpA2019">Artisan</a> – <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> sold six yachts between 63-metres to 67-metres in a period that was far from the post-covid frenzy. To sell a 60-metre yacht in 2017 was quite something, let alone six of them in quick succession. “The family is the most successful line ever in the size range to be presented by a shipyard,” Cassetta confirmed. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266295/image/large-5301f19804a51468d66a8f77a6d621b3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266295">As bedrocks go, you don’t get much sounder. The B.Century family further refines its predecessors: embodying the core philosophical principles cemented by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5920" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artisan63.0m (206'8&quot;)Benetti SpA2019">Artisan</a>, yet emboldened with soft, sculpted styling that gives the family a more organic look and feel. “To create a unique character for the B.Century family we drew each model with clean profile lines that encapsulate the undulating ‘wave’ typical to a <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a>superyacht with visual purity,” Cassetta explained. “What we did with this family in terms of styling is really something that will set a benchmark for some time in this size range. It’s easy to do a sporty, a dynamic or a simplistic design, but at the same time adding this level of functionality is something unrivalled.”&nbsp;Take the 75-metre model – the flagship from the family – we can clearly see this wave running from the bow across the main deck forward, gathering at the superstructure and then gently cascading aft. From this simple line, Cassetta and his team got to work, stretching the design across six decks with deft precision to create a Janis-faced harmony that blends tradition and modernity.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266296/image/large-01afc09b0502407399c2801cc5d16530.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266296">&nbsp;“More often than not, our clients are looking for better contact with the surrounding environment and a more informal experience,” Cassetta said. “To cater to these needs we’ve used more glass on the whole family than ever before and ensured that all areas are well connected – walkarounds on every deck is a good example of this. People like to be onboard spending time with family and close friends, so it's less important to create private sanctuaries. It's more important to allow a good flow and circulation of people.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266297/image/large-876f493a6bf8bb28621a16d018342546.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266297">With socialisation held high as the design lodestar for the family, great focus was paid to the beach accommodation: a two-level aft area that combines the pool and sea club. The sea club is partially covered by the overhanging main deck, and the shaded area is home to a nest of seats and a casual dining area, leaving room for the glass-walled swimming pool out in the open and positioned to offer guests undisturbed views. Two stairwells wrap the pool and lead directly to the sea club that, thanks to hydraulic wings, expands to 250 square-metres.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266294/image/large-4c4ab530a630434ccbf5386248d167e4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266294"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266293/image/large-50b472d06358db0b3835ab8a20029b3a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266293">The 75-metre model is presented with accommodation for 12 guests and 25 crew, so having strong circulation and easy flow is also incredibly beneficial for those working onboard. “A great deal of time was also spent mapping out the service areas, to maximise the quality of life for both guests and crew,” Cassetta noted. “However, while accessibility and social areas play a major role in the DNA of this family, we haven’t sacrificed the privacy of the owner. As typical with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a>, the foredeck is reserved exclusively for their use, and for the B.Century we incorporated a loft seat: a seating area that’s tucked away at the very end of the bow which offers a private area where you can really enjoy navigation in a way that’s more reminiscent of sailing yachts.”<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266287/image/large-55dcd29aa3dc6da34fe4adc95c72732b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266287"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266288/image/large-b7d891f27d1114b8cf9a1dec6847b5c5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266288"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/266291/image/large-496bb1d53aceb4f7ba865f7e05aea277.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/266291">The B.Century family is a true labour of love and Casetta and his team have spent close to two years refining the model run. “The amount of hours spent on this project is incomparable to anything that we’ve done in the past; we’re talking about thousands, if not tens of thousands of hours spent on design,” Cassetta explained. But there’s no denying that these hours have paid off, as in a matter of months since unveiling the line, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> has been having serious conversations with a number of clients. With a volume of 1,403 GT, the three-deck superyacht can accommodate up to 12 guests in six luxurious staterooms, who will be taken care by a crew of 15. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure is the design work of Italian designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4478" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Giorgio M. Cassetta (Company)">Giorgio M. With Miami Yacht Show on the horizon, next week is going to be a big week for superyacht designer Giorgio Cassetta. While he is still one of the younger yacht designers around, he is not a man of concepts but has some serious yachts already in-build and on the water. In particular, this year's show is especially important for Cassetta, where several new yachts from the designer's hand will make their public debut. Notably, too, Cassetta also helped to refine the design of Benetti's second 100m+ superyacht, FB272, post-contract which was <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/100m-benetti-yacht-launched" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">launched earlier this week.</a> With all of this excitement in mind, we sat down with the Italian designer to find out more about his plans for the upcoming year.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/17089/image/large-4cc62e2096e9fe7f0a160cba7f092384.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/17089"> Give us a brief overview of your history and how you got into yacht designI was two years' old, I discovered fresco secco painting at kindergarten and started painting ships, big and small. I never stopped. At 17 I was sketching for my first paying clients, at 22 I graduated with Gianni Zuccon, who was my first mentor, as thesis supervisor. The ball started rolling and in 2013 my own firm was born, after years of practice and dipping into some other design fields.What have been some of the proudest moments in your superyacht design career?Minutes after my first meeting with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti</a> in 2013, when I gained consciousness that things went well and that my pursuit for credibility was paying off, I had tears in my eyes. When we signed the construction contract for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Spectre69.2m (227'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2018">Spectre</a>, my whole team and I were jumping around the room like crazy. I was 31 and, after months of night work and 54 general arrangement revisions, my firm was entrusted with the design of what was set to become an iconic megayacht!In the summer of 2018, in Sicily, I crossed paths with a yacht of my design. The owner invited me on board and hugged me, and told me about the improvement in his quality of life thanks to our work. Last but not least, next week we will present a new project which blends two design cultures that used to be very far away.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/63369/image/large-7b4ecde9d3edadbadc0d37767ad0f872.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/63369">Give us a bit of an outline of your yacht design career so far: how many boats have you designed that have been completed?As of today, at the age of 35, including the periods when someone else was employing me, I have designed more than 30 yachts ranging from eight to 100+ meters. My firm has more than 15 unique models between those completed and those in build, most are yachts over 30-metres, and this doesn't include the repeated hulls.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/63414/image/large-5e030ec31e9c65ac13a1014137ba1c89.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/63414">What else is currently in build that has the Giorgio Cassetta design stamp on it?We are happily building two more 65-metre yachts with <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/companies/benetti" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">Benetti</a>, and hull 1 and 2 of the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/YachtModel/7660" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti Diamond 14544.06m (144'7&quot;)">Diamond 145</a> are in production, with the first one already being sold. We have also put our effort on a smaller production range, between 86 and 100', which is being built by a new brand in Turkey. These will be very interesting boats, designed with owners for owners and with little compromise on quality and cost. Quite a radical approach when it comes to yacht building.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/63375/image/large-a8260128f94f579a59220ab6be801ead.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/63375">In 2017, you started collaborating with the brand Cigarette Racing Team of Miami and will be presenting their new flagship at Miami. Tell us more about what we can expect from this project.Over my career, I have come across some incredible opportunities. I was able to catch some, with others have been less successful. When Skip Braver (Cigarette Racing owner and CEO) explained his vision for his new flagship, I understood that I had to be a part of it at all costs. I met Skip with little expectations and no idea of what kind of person was about to be in front of me. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/63379/image/large-a9f16ebe1fb7d5b0d0860f7637a0c43f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/63379">After a three hour chat, we shook hands and two months later the initial design for the Cigarette Tirranna was there. It has been my most challenging project so far: the level of research, technology, performance and comfort that this boat will offer is unparalleled. We lined up the outstanding technical and design features and got to a bullet-pointed list with more than 250 points. Designing Spectre has been wonderful, John and Janette have been so enthusiastic about their new baby and have shed that enthusiasm on everyone involved. Also, my whole design team will attend the Miami show, they are all great people, expect to see them around.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/63155/image/large-d03d20f8ad20e17b3096e6574a3e940d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/63155">Can you tell us any more about FB272 following her <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/100m-benetti-yacht-launched" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">launch</a> earlier this week?&nbsp;FB272 is a game-changing project. Almost ten years ago the owner and Zaniz Jacubowski dreamed of a yacht that was, at the time, almost impossible to build. A crew of visionary people made that challenge possible. Former <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti&nbsp;</a>salesman James Clayton was incredibly dexterous when it came to approaching the client and securing the contract. Andrew North, owner's representative at the time of the signature, brought in his expertise and great experience.The whole <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/159" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Burgess (Company)">Burgess</a> team involved, led by Sean Bianchi, was precious, to say the least, and Vincenzo Poerio above all believed that his company was up to the task. Poerio once told me, after a long meeting with the owner over some design details, that he couldn't afford and wouldn't allow this boat to be built if not with concepts that were 15 years ahead of their time.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/62278/image/large-9c34a76d8f2d03ef57794f9063bc2364.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/62278">I was involved, on <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/212" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Benetti SpA (Company)">Benetti'</a>s suggestion, a little while after the contract was signed. The owner had had some exterior design work done before, but the yacht was changing and evolving and the team needed support. I had little time to prepare and presented my initial work to the owner's team less than two weeks after my involvement. That was the start of very productive collaboration. The vision was always there, I was a helping hand in executing it and bringing it to reality.Yachts are often referred to with many praising adjectives, but projects so incredibly complex like 272 only happen every so long. It was an honour to dance that dance.Is there anything else you’d like to add?We often talk about brands, prestige and marvel, but the key difference in everyone’s experience are the people surrounding us. I have been blessed with many people who put their trust in me and to them I am grateful. It is impossible to name them all, but allow me to express a heartfelt thank you to my team, keep up the good work folks!

Her naval architecture is by the team at Mulder Design in the Netherlands, who have worked on multiple projects for Staluppi, starting with 38-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2547" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Octopussy 00743.58m (142'12&quot;)Heesen Yachts1988">Octopussy</a>, the world’s fastest yacht at the time of her launch in 1988. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/57039/image/large-497d51a410591e55369ee1775f5aabdf.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/57039">Times have changed and instead of focusing on outright speed, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Spectre69.2m (227'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2018">Spectre</a> is the first monohull superyacht to be fitted with a Ride Control System (RCS) by Naiad Dynamics to improve both comfort and performance. “The trend today is towards displacement yachts with lower speeds, longer range and more comfort,” says naval architect Frank Mulder. “But the owner still wanted something that was faster than your average yacht and Spectre can cruise at 20 knots with a top speed of 21 knots. The problem is that the faster you go, the worse the motions become in sea states that are anything less than ideal. Stabiliser fins are very good at damping roll, but in quartering seas, you also have the problem of pitching.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/57045/image/large-f2ab6e738d1fd0f4f04cd1220628a9a4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/57045">Naiad Dynamics pioneered the science of ride control that coordinates multi-axis surfaces for controlling roll, pitch and other undesirable motions like yawing and slamming, by combining conventional fins with other appendages such as T-Foils, trim tabs, canards and interceptors. Optimal ride performance is achieved by accurately phasing the movement of each controlled surface with respect to the combined motions of the vessel. Mulder likens the system to “adjusting the suspension on your car when you want to go fast over rough terrain.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/57047/image/large-7fdbfcc71ec25483e8bb99024173305d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/57047">Working closely with Mulder, Naiad ran initial simulations using three different configurations – with no RCS: with fins only; and with fins, canards and interceptors – at various speeds, wave heights and headings to find the best combination for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Spectre69.2m (227'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2018">Spectre</a>. The results showed that having two active stabiliser fins amidships, two active interceptors mounted under the transom, and two active canards forward provided the most effective roll and pitch damping, as well as optimising the trim of the yacht. In fact, pitching was reduced by 25-47% in head seas and rolling by 79-88% at the worst case heading of 75 degrees. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/57038/image/large-062db8d17305458c91c313ecd5773006.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/57038">Interceptors work much like the aerofoils on high-performance sports cars that pop out of the back at high speed to increase the down-force, except when applied to a hull they provide dynamic lift to reduce drag and control pitch. Canards are the small wing-like projections you see in front of the main wings on some jet aircraft; they work exactly the same way on a hull by angling up or down to alter the angle of attack and improve stability. Active T-Foils, which Naiad has successfully applied to high-speed catamarans and naval vessels, were considered but rejected early on as they are mounted under the keel and would have increased the draft, limiting the yacht’s cruising grounds.&nbsp;With the initial data from Naiad’s simulations, Mulder Design continued to fine-tune the hull design and carried out 25 different CFD analyses before final tank testing. “The initial hull form was already very efficient, but each new CFD analysis resulted in incremental gains,” says Mulder.&nbsp;“That’s the beauty of CFD. We can arrive at a point after which we don’t see any improvements, and the tank tests are really just to confirm the CFD results.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/45042/image/large-2c8ec7a3bb84533cdddb33b19bb109ae.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/45042">In addition to improving motion comfort, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Spectre69.2m (227'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2018">Spectre’s</a> hull form and appendages provide a virtuous circle of efficiency benefits. Less drag means more speed, lower fuel consumption and longer range (well over 6,000nm at 12 knots) for the same installed power. Less fuel burned also means smaller tanks (just 127,000 litres), and thus less weight to carry around.&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Spectre69.2m (227'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2018">Spectre</a> is powered by twin 2,580kW engines, the smallest in MTU’s 4000 series, but her top speed is at least 25% faster than a conventional displacement monohull. When Mulder was on board<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5993" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Spectre69.2m (227'0&quot;)Benetti SpA2018">&nbsp;Spectre</a> with the owner during final sea trials prior to delivery, he noted that at 15 knots the engines were running at less than one-third power. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/54850/image/large-61d9dfa1831936b7d643468e285526e4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/54850">“The wind later picked up and started gusting at 40 knots with white caps all around, but the yacht was still doing 20 knots with no pitch or roll,” Mulder recalls. “Like an airplane that needs forward speed to start flying, the interceptors and canards are less effective at slow speeds, but at anything over 12-14 knots, the motions just disappear. It’s really impressive. I’m not saying the owner can play pool on board, but she’s a very stable boat!”

Benetti delivers 69m Bond-influenced superyacht Spectre 

Benetti's launched the highly anticipated 69-metre custom motor yacht Spectre in Livorno this week. The yacht was commissioned by experienced yacht owners, Jeanette and John Staluppi, the pair known for naming their vessels after Ian Fleming's famous spy novels. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/45042/image/large-2c8ec7a3bb84533cdddb33b19bb109ae.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/45042">Spectre, or hull FB269 as she was known, is a full custom 69-meter motor yacht, with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure arranged on five decks, featuring a swimming pool and a ‘touch and go’ helipad. Accommodating 12 guests in unparalleled comfort, the layout features two owner’s cabins (one has a private terrace, a sun lounging area and a hydromassage tub), two VIP cabins on the main deck and two guest cabins on the lower deck.Spectre is fitted with Ride Control technology by Naiad Dynamics, a system that significantly increases stability during navigation and improves comfort on board with the help of four stabilising fins and three vertically-adjustable blades.The lines of the High Speed Cruising Hull, designed by Dutch firm Mulder Design, deliver maximum navigation efficiency, with a range of 6,500 nautical miles at 12 knots and a top speed of 21.2 knots, 30% more than a traditional displacement hull.The exteriors are by Giorgio M. The floor in the main lounge, for example, draws inspiration from the Liberty style flooring in a Paris resort, featuring symmetrical forms and clean-cut geometrical patterns, enriched here with modern touches provided by the choice of Armani fabrics. Benetti launches 69m Bond-inspired superyacht Spectre

During the latest edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, Dutch design studio Mulder Design unveiled their latest project, a 115m concept. SYT caught up with with the family-run company to find what the design is all about, and which other projects they are currently involved in.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156634/image/large-04c502021a51cb65bf58dcf1a2cf1dcd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156634">Mulder wanted to create an elegant yacht that would still exude a powerful and dynamic profile. Two key elements were identified at the start of the project which Mulder believes that today’s discerning owners would appreciate. The first is a helicopter landing pad on the foredeck, served by a hangar where it can be stowed in the deck below. This makes long distance crossings possible without the need of leaving the helicopter ashore.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156635/image/large-610b02b29b5f936a89a4fe9ee02bee21.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156635">The second area that Mulder feels will become a special area on board is the expansive beach lounge located at water level in the stern of the vessel. With the aft bathing platform opened, this area measures a generous 18 by 8 metres and is well illuminated by natural light reaching the lounge from above, through a skylight in the bottom of a swimming pool placed on main deck aft.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156636/image/large-07e2209ee5f5f222ad619fa3bfe7f242.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156636"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156637/image/large-6ccf0b210feade6d5756d947c4700bb4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156637">Frank Mulder, the man steering the company since 1979, points out that part of their design process is to focus on each aspect of the vessel and its design, and refrains from directing their efforts at matching a single well-designed area with the rest of the yacht. “Our approach is not to focus solely on one part of the design but to step back and take a helicopter view of the total picture.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/156638/image/large-cc2a548b03ffc6f72974b5ff5d0bbe17.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/156638">Three of the studio’s projects are currently in build. Mulder Design presents new 115m superyacht concept

Benetti has announced that the highly experienced superyacht owner Mr. John Staluppi, has signed a contract for a 66 metre semi-displacement, full custom superyacht, project FB269.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/155426/image/large-af1546a8abff57ce22aba1dbd415fec2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/155426">Details are still scarce, but we do already know that Mulder Design will be responsible for the naval architecture, in collaboration with shipyard. Giorgio Cassetta Design is responsible for the exterior design, along with Benetti's inhouse design team.
