We take a look at yachts attending this eighth edition of the world's largest crewed yacht charter show, which is returning to Greece this year.

She has been meticulously maintained over the years and has benefitted from several refit periods to keep her charter-ready all year round. Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the Greek-flagged Suncoco sleeps up to eight guests in four staterooms. She was spotted cruising of Monemvasia in Greece over the weekend.

With the festive season drawing to an end and the new year stretching ahead, it has been a truly exciting holiday period for the many new superyacht owners who were gifted with a boat this December (although it has to be said, it’s not the easiest present to fit underneath a tree!) Here we look at just some of the stand-out superyacht sales which were made over the holiday period between 2017 and 2018.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19965/image/large-e112632eb4faf6ac21d3cd132f6c5c8a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19965"> 55-metre motor yacht&nbsp;Huntress II&nbsp;The 55-metre Feadship motor yacht Huntress II,&nbsp;listed for sale by Merle Wood at Merle Wood &amp; Associates was sold in mid-December, with Alex Lees-Buckley of Camper &amp; Nicholsons representing the buyer.&nbsp;Huntress II was built by the Dutch yard, Feadship, and delivered in 1997, featuring both interior and exterior designs from Terence Disdale.&nbsp;On board, she accommodates up to 10 guests across five cabins, comprising a master, three doubles and a twin cabin. A crew of 14 is also accommodated for on board. With her power coming from twin Caterpillar 3512 DITA diesel engines, she has a top speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots, with a range of 4,000 nautical miles at cruising speed. At the time of sale, Huntress II&nbsp;was asking $18,975,000.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19875/image/large-c38967978e21b98bce43a07ebcac21ae.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19875">43.3-metre motor yacht&nbsp;Big ZipThe 43.3-metre superyacht&nbsp;Big Zip,&nbsp;which was jointly listed for sale by Burgess and Northrop &amp; Johnson, was sold at the end of December with Bob Cury from RJC Yacht Sales introducing the buyer.Delivered by the USA-based Trinity Yachts in 2010, Big Zip&nbsp;underwent an extensive $1,500,000 refit in early 2017 which included a full repaint. Her interior design is from the drawing boards of the London-based designer Evan K. Marshall, with an exterior design from the shipyard’s in-house team.&nbsp;She sports an aluminium hull and superstructure and teak decking, accommodating up to 10 guests on board across four king-sized and one twin cabin. A crew of eight is also accommodated for on board.&nbsp;Powered by twin Caterpillar C-32A 1,800hp diesel engines, Big Zip&nbsp;reaches a maximum speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.At the time of sale, Big Zip was asking $16,900,000. She has now been renamed&nbsp;Aquasition and will join the Florida-based RJC Yachts charter fleet.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19876/image/large-3a2a84a845032e48ebf84ae544c42a59.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19876">25.6-metre motor yacht Tuko &nbsp;The 25.6-metre motor yacht Tuko,&nbsp;listed for sale by Kevin Kramer and Todd Rittenhouse from Northrop &amp; Johnson was sold in mid-December, with Hampton Yachts introducing the buyer.Designed by Jack Sarin and built by Westbay Sonship, Tuko was delivered in 2004. The 25.6-metre motor yacht is a raised pilothouse model and has maintained the same owners since her delivery.&nbsp;On board, Tuko&nbsp;accommodates up to six guests across three ensuite cabins, including a full-beam master suite, a VIP suite and a twin cabin. A crew of two is also accommodated for on board.&nbsp;Twin 1,350hp MTU diesel engines power Tuko to a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots. At the time of her sale, Tuko was listed at an asking price of $2,495,000.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19955/image/large-9ac45e48f3a06559eb93f85657864d72.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19955">32-metre motor yacht Polly&nbsp;The 32-metre superyacht Polly,&nbsp;listed for sale by Mark Elliott at IYC, was sold in an in-house deal at the end of December.&nbsp;Featuring an interior by the renowned UK-based yacht designer Ken Freivokh,&nbsp;Polly was built by the UK yard Sunseeker International to a design by Don Sheard and delivered in 2002, undergoing a refit in 2017.&nbsp;Polly is a Manhattan 105 Model from Sunseeker. &nbsp;On board, she sleeps up to ten guests across four cabins, including one owner’s cabin, one double cabin and two twin cabins. A crew of four is also accommodated on board. Polly is perhaps most famous for acting as a host vessel for the G20 Summit, which was held in Mexico back in 2012. A popular chartering vessel, she has also hosted celebrities across the music and film industries, as well as US sporting celebrities.&nbsp;Powered by twin MTU 16V 2000 M91 diesel engines, Polly boasts a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots.&nbsp;At the time of sale, Polly was listed at an asking price of $2,200,000.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/19958/image/large-0458309e7e559acb0d670f6c22845c8a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/19958">31-metre motor yacht&nbsp;Suncoco&nbsp;Announced in December, the 31-metre motor yacht Suncoco, jointly listed for sale with Atlanta Marine and Van der Vliet Quality yachts has been sold, with Van der Vliet introducing the buyer.&nbsp;Built in steel and aluminium by the Dutch yard Lowland Yachts and delivered in 1992, Suncoco has undergone numerous refits - with her most recent refit in 2014 - and comes from the drawing boards of De Vries Lentsch yacht design.&nbsp;Sleeping up to eight guests, she accommodates her visitors across four ensuite cabins, including a master suite with a king size bed, two VIP staterooms and a twin cabin. A crew of six is also accommodated for on board.&nbsp;Twin 540hp diesel Caterpillar engines give her a top speed of 13 knots, with a cruising speed of 10 knots and a range of 3,000 nautical miles at nine knots.Suncoco was asking €3,250,000 at the time of her sale.&nbsp;

As part of our history series in the SuperYacht Times newspaper from revered in-house yacht historian, Malcolm Wood, SYT take a closer look at yacht builders that are, for one reason or another, no longer in existence. This issue we turn to Lowland Yachts of Zoeterwoude, situated between Amsterdam and Rotterdam on the Oude Rijn waterway near Leiden.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/165514/image/large-5e2738f7a401e39a83626a6d3f41386a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/165514">Typical Lowland built kotter The Lowland Yachts yard was owned by the Van Vulpen family of the Netherlands, and was well established by the mid-1970s in building kotter-style motor yachts in steel. Sizes varied between 10 metres to around 15 metres in length at this time.It wasn’t until 1984 that Lowland delivered their first yacht greater than 18-metres, the 23.6-metre Wilverley II designed by leading Dutch designer Pieter Beeldsnijder for an owner from the Netherlands.Wilverley II is a traditionally styled motor cruiser with a steel hull, aluminium superstructure and teak decks. Accommodation is for six guests and three to four crew. Powered by twin 8-cylinder Gardner diesels each developing 230 hp, she had a top speed of 12 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots. Her range was 2,000 miles at cruising speed.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/165515/image/large-6a4a97e46be584968e782f0eca14bddf.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/165515">Wilverley II,1984In 1985 Lowland completed three identical motor yachts of just over 20-metres in length, designed by Willem de Vries Lentsch Jr. with Pieter Beeldsnijder penned interiors. The company started to use the brand name Neth-Ship for these larger vessels.Lowland were now establishing themselves in the 20-metre plus motoryacht field with three units delivered in 1966 and another three in 1987. Two yachts were completed in 1988 and another two in 1989. This added up to a total of 14 vessels of between 18.6-metres and 28.7-metres delivered during the 1980s - not an insubstantial number on anybody’s watch and particularly at a time when the superyacht industry was vastly different to the one we know today. Included in this total of 14 yachts delivered was one Neth-Ship 76 named Full Circle that was designed by Frank Mulder and had its aluminium hull constructed by the De Amstel yard.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/165516/image/large-5707de2883838e093d1c623edb77a150.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/165516">The Neth-Ship 76 Full Circle completed in 1987Moving into the next decade, Lowland completed a further two motor yachts in 1990 – the 28.2-metre de Vries Lentsch designed Zela M and another Beeldsnijder designed vessel, the Neth-Ship 61.1991 saw the delivery of the 28.9-metre Mileanna and the first 30-metre plus yacht Anad for an Abu Dhabi-based owner. In 1992 the 31.5-metre Maine was delivered to a French owner. This yacht is now named Suncoco and is currently for sale.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/165517/image/large-346a9d3923f1ba74cee57a9bc289e07a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/165517"> The 31.5 m Suncoco delivered in 1992 In 1994 a Neth-Ship 87 named Olindia was completed and the last two 18-metre plus yachts, the 31.5-metre Astralium and the 32.2-metre Evnike were delivered in 1995 and 1996 respectively before the Van Vulpen family decided to close the yard in 1996. Sadly, Evnike was the last vessel to come out of the yard indefinitely.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/165518/image/large-bcc0e9d818198ed4ccfbf747de522b0e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/165518">Last vessel EvnikeDuring its existence, Lowland Yachts completed 22 yachts greater than 18-metres, quite significant for a small family firm. The company were always highly regarded as first-class builders of high quality yachts with most still in service today. The ghost of yards past: Lowland Yachts

Built in 1992 by the Dutch shipyard Lowland Yachts, the 31.52 metre superyacht Suncoco is a charter yacht based in the Eastern Mediterranean. SuperYacht Times’ Maarten Janssen enjoyed a delicious lunch on Suncoco last week whilst in Greece, and was impressed by both the high quality of the food as well as the impeccable service given by the crew.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154129/image/large-836ae6bdf00fca87934d04b1cca46ae4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154129"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154130/image/large-1ca58493f1bff3b5bf551a2376633ab2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154130"> <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/154131/image/large-b198fb4f9c56d5283a9af14c4513ab9a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/154131">In addition to fantastic food and a highly professional crew of six, it’s not hard to see why Suncoco is such a popular charter yacht in the region. She accommodates up to eight guests on board over four spacious cabins, all of which are decorated in the same palette seen in the rest of the interior of creams contrasted with light wooden furniture. Outside, she provides plenty of space to enjoy the best of life on board, with a Jacuzzi tub on the flybridge with comfortable, large sunloungers, and a spacious outdoor table to enjoy the best of the al fresco dining experience. In the latest refit, her topsides were painted, her superstructure touched up, the bottom paints and her shaft seals were renewed.Suncoco is currently available for charter with <a href="http://www.atalantagoldenyachts.com/HOME.aspx" target="_blank">Atalanta Golden Yachts</a>. Rates start at €34,000 in low season, and go up to €42,000 in high season.

Yacht broker Robert Drontmann of De Valk International has proudly announced the sale of the 103’ Lowland Motoryacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/140" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">Suncoco</a> in conjunction with listing broker, Pam Barlow of Luke Brown Yachts.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/121770/image/large-fd44461b7242f5a077c4d58d138f7ed9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/121770"> <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/140" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">Suncoco</a>, currently lying in Greece, carried the flag of the British Virgin Islands and has been built by Lowland in 1992. She accommodates eight guests in four staterooms, each with their own ensuite bathrooms. The main deck contains a well-equipped galley, as well as the tastefully decorated dining area and salon. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/140" data-legacy="true" href="#managed-by-application">Suncoco</a> features a large aft deck with seating area, enclosed pilothouse with sky lounge, and a flybridge with sundeck and Jacuzzi. The yacht has been sold to a Greek owner, who brought her back to European waters after cruising in Florida for several seasons. This transaction is another in a long line of successful sales so far in 2006 for De Valk.
