Northrop and Johnson today announced that it will display the two largest superyachts at the forthcoming Nansha Bay International Boat Show, to be held October 12-14 in China. N&amp;J will display the 30 metre Electra from IAG which won the title of "Best Asian Yacht" in 2012. This Italian designed yacht is built to the RINA class and has a top speed of 26 knots. SuperYacht of the Week: The IAG 100 Electra

She also boasts a shallow 4 foot draft and an optimal seaworthy ocean traveling hull form suitable for the most challenging conditions.Soon a full report will follow on the superyacht.

Live from China: The new IAG 100 at the Hainan Rendez-Vous

The IAG Yachts shipyard, based in Zhuhai (China) has launched its second yacht to date. Chinese superyacht builder IAG launches the Electra 100'

In early May, IAG Yachts was successful in the recruitment of former Tricon Marine VP, Dave Adams who started with IAG on June 1st, 2011. His title is Vice President in charge of Operations. Mr. Adams is a 40 year veteran in the yacht and marine business. He was co-founder of Tricon Marine and he actually designed and built the shipyard in Zhuhai. Dave established the high level quality standards that Tricon quickly became famous for. He has been designing and building yachts since 1992 and has been working in China full time since 2002. Adams designed and built the Argos G92 and designed the entire Argos line, in addition to several other projects that he has completed in China. Mr. Adams’ new duties at IAG will include setting and achieving the highest quality standards of any shipyard in Asia. He will also be working closely with the design team to ensure that all yachts will perform to the highest standards, will be easily maintained, and will deliver new yacht owners as trouble free service as possible. IAG is expecting the appointment of Mr. Adams to display their commitment to building the finest yachts in the world and they are certain this will be evident upon the completion of the 100’ Electra hull #1 launching this coming October. IAG has already at great expense followed Dave’s direction making many changes in the construction of the first 100 primarily with regard to structural and mechanical design issues. IAG Yachts recruits former Tricon Marine VP Dave Adams

In what’s been quite a spectacular year for IAG Yachts and following on from some successful shows in Miami, Shanghai and Hong Kong, the Chinese based shipyard have managed to complete sales on both their first two production models, the 127 foot Primadonna to a buyer in Florida and the 100 foot Electra to a buyer in China. A celebratory event was held at IAG Group’s country club in Southern China to mark the special occasion attended by media, guests and friends of the group on Saturday 28th May. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/135425/image/large-0744395731151ca863220113bd921daa.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/135425">“I am extremely happy that we have sold not just one, but both our models to different buyers across two different regions of the world,” said Tim Chang, Director of IAG Yachts.
