The 61 metre Fox rebuilt project has been relaunched, and is is now named Toy Heaven. The 61 metre Toy Heaven launched

Southeast Asia’s Yacht Solutions, has just secured a new superyacht refit facility in Bangkok Thailand. Responding to the need for more superyacht refit and repair facilities in the Asian region from both owners of superyachts based in Asia but also those travelling from Europe, Yacht Solutions has found the perfect site. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/135546/image/large-ccc4396dff558b094cf76820a84cb107.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/135546">This new facility was required to cater for alongside work and can take some of the largest yachts in the world. Its location, being in the vibrant city of Bangkok and only one hour from Bangkok international airport (the transiting hub of Southeast Asia) works because it is extremely appealing to owners, captains and crew. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/135547/image/large-eda120e0f80b700ecaa488619ab7637e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/135547">The facility (300 metres x 100 metres) comfortably caters for vessels up to 200 metres in length. The Yacht Solutions Bangkok facilities now boast a haul-out for a maximum of 85 metres and 1,500 tonnes as well as access to two 115 metre dry docks, alongside berthing, two floating docks up to 160m and 3000 tonnes lift capacity. Gareth Twist, the Managing Director of Yacht Solutions comments that “we have been in the marine refit and repair business in Thailand for 10 years and this seems the natural progression for our business. The superyacht industry in Asia is growing and recent trends show that there has been a year on year increase in the number of superyachts either in the region or transiting through the region and we are very keen to attract those vessels to our facility in Thailand for planned or emergency refits, repairs or conversion work”. Mr Twist adds that “we have a tremendous pool of talented craftsmen here in Thailand and our Yacht Solutions facility combines European management, standards and quality with the renowned finishing skills of Thai craftsmen. Yacht Solutions secures new superyacht refit facility in Bangkok 

This morning the SYT Team received the following statement from the Owner’s Representative of M/Y Fox and Yacht Solutions: Due to reasons as yet unknown the 60 metre Motor Yacht <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3574">Fox</a> sadly partially sank as she was launched from the slipway at a Bangkok shipyard where she had undergone a major refit. Surveyors and insurance companies are now assessing the damage to see how best the vessel can be salvaged. All parties concerned in the refit who have expended a huge amount of time and effort into the project are devastated and respectfully request that the incident is not discussed, or publicized in any way beyond this statement. At this point in time there is little point in surmising, speculating or guessing what went wrong as a full investigation is still ongoing and a full report of the facts will be known upon conclusion of that investigation.

Superyacht Fox launching accident

Yacht Solutions has teamed up with Scott Taylor to head up its paint division to ensure the firm meets increasing demand for world-class yacht detailing and finishing. The highly-experienced Mr. Taylor brings 25 years experience in yacht painting, fairing applications and project management to the company, having been employed by many of the world's leading firms such as Camper &amp; Nicolson, Devonport Yachts, VT shipyard UK and Royal Denship Denmark while working on well-known superyachts such as <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/301">Mirabella V</a>, <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2299">Christianna B</a> and <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/218">Leander</a> during his career. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/133282/image/large-88e98e1422e35e327cce8938b5802ac2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/133282">Mr Taylor also recently completed a metallic paint project for a 105ft superyacht in southern Thailand with outstanding results and comes to Yacht Solutions from Marine Coatings. The high-profile working relationship is a further boost for Yacht Solutions' already highly skilled and experienced team and to a company very much in expansion mode having recently launched a superyacht new-build division called Ruea Yachts. "Hempel have found that in Thailand, during the application of their superyacht paint system - ProSystem, the products have shown enhanced application characteristics, the weather conditions in Thailand make Hempel products easier to mix and apply and this is especially true of the ProFiller, and other advantages of course are reduced paint drying times," he said.
