Argos Yachts delivered and sold its flagship Argos Gulfstream 92 (Argos G92) to a South Florida couple just in time for the holiday season.<img alt="" src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/129864/image/large-cbbec90e2fc20ee13493860d9daaf09d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129864" class="legacy">Shown recently at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in late October 2010, the Argos G92 was the first hull crafted in the limited-edition Argos Gulfstream series. Argos Yachts guarantees limited production each year; an industry first that contributes to superior investment value.“Her new owners respect her exceptional engineering, first-class craftsmanship, well-executed and laid out spaces and her enormous boat deck, which is a prominent, much-loved feature of the Argos series,” said Dave Adams, Vice President of Argos Yachts. “One of the buyers is a competitive ballroom dancer. Argos Yachts sells Gulfstream 92 superyacht

Tricon Marine successfully completed offshore sea trials for its 92-foot (28-meter) Argos Gulfstream (“Argos G92”), the first vessel from the company’s new limited-edition series of luxury, offshore performance yachts.<img alt="" src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/129863/image/large-bdca23b5c208711c99209baefbe3424f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129863" class="legacy">The Argos G92 delivered impressive fuel efficiency, burning only 8gph at 8.5 knots (better than one nautical mile per gallon). With her 4,000 gallon fuel capacity she has very long legs for trans-Atlantic crossings.<img alt="" src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/129864/image/large-cbbec90e2fc20ee13493860d9daaf09d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129864" class="legacy">She proved 27 knot top speeds. In various sea states, high-speed cruise was a consistent 23 knots (+/- 0.5kt), described as “effortless” with less than 70% engine load. At high-speed cruise, running time was calculated at 35 hours continuous operation without refueling.<img alt="" src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/129865/image/large-af6a42b56e967ccfcdf6aec37adaf86d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129865" class="legacy"><img alt="" src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/129866/image/large-675c45fbb686a597ad97335efa9e810e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129866" class="legacy">“We tested the Argos G92 in real-world Gulf Stream conditions off the Florida coast, in choppy seas exceeding six feet,” said Christos Livadas, Chairman and CEO of Tricon Marine, builder of the Argos series. “She turned in a lively performance, exceeding the highest expectations for speed, fuel efficiency, and comfortable handling.”The tests were performed in 90-degree temperatures and high humidity suggesting that on a standard day her performance capabilities may do better.The Argos G92 sits square on her lines at anticipated displacement, weighing in at 155,000 lbs light and approximately 190,000 lbs fully loaded, as prescribed by the original design.Her numbers at sea trial were very close to those demonstrated during extensive tank tests performed at BC Research in Vancouver, BC, Canada.<img alt="" src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/129867/image/large-217656da523a656c4606c55bed3eab31.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129867" class="legacy">The Argos G92 is equipped with one of the first hybrid hulls ever developed. Her hard chines aft keep her stable at lower speeds and allow her to plane easily and achieve speeds much higher than those typically associated with “displacement” boats.<img alt="" src="https://d3w3pid64ak8v.cloudfront.net/photo/129870/image/large-c344bf2e7f59a69c1d5bd14f37dbd747.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/129870" class="legacy">The Argos G92 sets new standards in versatility in her range of use, whether it be racing to the Bahamas for a weekend, or making long journeys to the far corners of the globe.
