A fleet of classic sailing yachts have once again descended on Falmouth in the United Kingdom for the inaugural <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/201" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Richard Mille Cup - 2023">Richard Mille Cup</a> Regatta. The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club (RCYC) is hosting the event, which will see coastal racing in the bay.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/274399/image/large-54a5edcc0a525281fed945c7ccb5d387.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/274399">The <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/201" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Richard Mille Cup - 2023">Richard Mille Cup</a> intends to establish itself as a global reference and become a highly anticipated event in the yachting calendar for sailing enthusiasts worldwide. Richard Mille Cup Regatta 2023 begins in Falmouth

A fleet of classic sailing yachts have once again descended on Falmouth in the United Kingdom for the inaugural Richard Mille Cup Regatta.

Last month we reported about the construction of superyacht Wolfhound at Graafship in The Netherlands. Wolfhound, however, is not the only project underway at the yard. The yard is also working on the recreation of the legendary 1903 schooner Ingomar.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/146165/image/large-7299c98bcc4b1582a7e5ee085653d651.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/146165">The yacht is being constructed for Ed Kastelein, who is no stranger to building large yachts, having owned yachts such as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1232" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Thendara36.5m (119'9&quot;)">Thendara</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2811" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Zaca a te Moana43.8m (143'8&quot;)">Zaca a te Moana</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/2081" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Eleonora E49.5m (162'5&quot;)">Eleonora</a>, and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/150" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Atlantic69.24m (227'2&quot;)">Atlantic</a>, to name just a few.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/146166/image/large-338c37950f7ea7941fa995323842dd9a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/146166">Kastelein's latest project is a two-masted topsail gaff schooner, originally designed in 1903. The yacht measures 53.88-metres, and has a 38-metre mast. When finished, she will accommodate up to 8 guests, in 4 cabins, together with a crew of also 8.

Graafship has announced that the construction of the 37 metre schooner Wolfhound is going smoothly, and expects to have the hull completed before the second quarter of 2014.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/146096/image/large-0ff74b03bee143babf6edac38545813a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/146096">After the completion of all the individual sections, which include two tank sections, one motor section, three deck sections, one head section and one back section, assembly of all the parts together has begun.
