Fresh from delivering the 68-metre Wayfinder, Incat Crowther and YCTS, Ltd. have announced their latest design concept as part of their ShadowCat line of shadow vessels, a 48-metre, sub-500 GT catamaran, ToyBox.
The shadow yacht ToyBox features many similarities to the 68-metre Wayfinder, also part of the ShadowCat line, but in a smaller hull platform. The vessel is best suited as a shadow vessel for owner’s of 50 to 70-metre superyachts, according to her designers.
ToyBox includes a 13-metre helipad, accommodation for a crew of 14 and storage for plenty of tenders, toys and supplies, but can be customised to her owner’s tastes. Robert Smith, director of YCTS, Ltd. comments, “This latest ShadowCat concept offers a tremendous amount of customization and meets the needs of buyers who require a moderately sized shadow yacht to support their existing superyachts, without sacrificing quality or performance.”
To ToyBox’s aft, she can store three tenders up-to 10-metres. Here, a launch and recovery system will consist of overhead cranes. Forward of her tender storage are her mess and crew accommodation.
The shadow vessel’s catamaran hull configuration improves her efficiency by burning less fuel, offers additional stability when compared to a mono-hull, and offers 40% more volume and 60% more deck space, according to her designers.
ToyBox can be constructed in 18 months at Astilleros Armon, where Wayfinder was built.
