Together with naval architecture from <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6759" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Zero13 Naval Design & Consulting (Company)">Zero13 Studio</a>, the hull has been developed to optimise dynamics while reducing fuel consumption and making navigation safer and more comfortable."The hull design, combined with the use of CFD (computational fluid dynamics), as well as tank tests, has led to important results in terms of efficiency of the hull and its appendages. The suite boasts an office with a sitting area at the entrance, a spacious full-beam stateroom, a dressing room and two separate bathrooms with a large shared shower.The remaining five guest staterooms are situated on the lower deck, consisting of three VIP suites and two twins, all of which are equipped with ensuite bathrooms. Her tender garage is located inside the gym and allows for a large tender up to six-metres in length to be stored while cruising.In terms of performance, Kiribati 38 offers the option of two different propulsion systems, making it possible to install both a traditional and full-electric system. The 290 GT yacht is able to sleep up to 12 guests across five staterooms, with her owner’s suite located on the main deck and two VIP and two guest staterooms situated on the lower deck. Her sister, the NB067 yacht, is equipped with twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1483" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cummins Inc. Construction update: Three yachts in-build at AES Yacht

AES Yacht has given a construction update on three new yachts currently under construction with the shipyard.

The announcement came during an event in Carrara, Italy, which celebrated the 20th anniversary of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1087" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Floating Life Charter & Brokerage Ltd (Company)">Floating Life</a>. Moving the engine room has the added benefit of improved stability, as all the weight is now on the lower level of the hull.&nbsp;Another unique feature of Dream 42 is that she has an impressive six separate outdoor areas, both forward and aft and on different decks. Last week, the 37.3-metre yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7953" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Run Away37.3m (122'5&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2020">Run Away</a> hit the water for the first time in Avenza before being moved to the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> shipyard for the final outfitting stages. The new superyacht had her hull and superstructure joined in June 2019 at the Italian Carrara-based <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)</a> shipyard. Earlier this year, the owning company of Baglietto and CCN set out to merge the <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/baglietto-ccn-rebrand" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">Italian shipyards under the Baglietto brand</a>. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/169579/image/large-36b1662ecb301198022740816a740150.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/169579">As the latest addition to the yard’s aluminium DOM123 line (Domus meaning ‘home’ in Latin), <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7953" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Run Away37.3m (122'5&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2020">Run Away</a> features the design work of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/76" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Studio Vafiadis (Company)">Stefano Vafiadis</a> who worked with the owner’s team from <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Camper & Nicholsons International (Company)">Camper &amp; Nicholsons</a>’ new build division.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/169580/image/large-771e7106ab01b1756f54598b6dbc6ad2.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/169580">The new owner can enjoy the master suite with its own private terrace and gain access to the rest of the yacht via the onboard lift. Inside the garage, the 5.8-metre is stored and the transom platform gives way to a large beach area. Baglietto launch first 37m DOM123 yacht: Run Away 

The 37.3m yacht Run Away has hit the water for the first time before her final outfitting stages.

Finding himself today in the quintessentially Dutch city of Haarlem, Israeli-born Jaron Ginton has taken the scenic route into superyacht naval architecture and exterior design. Serving five years as an officer in the Israeli navy before becoming charter captain of a 24-metre schooner and a 20-metre motorboat and travelling across the ocean to the Caribbean on a wooden sailing boat with his now-wife, “It was only at the age of 29 that I started to study naval architecture and then went into business with my partner, Ferri Weber,” Ginton explains. “After 11 years, in 2002, we split and I formed&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/285" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ginton Naval Architects (Company)">Ginton Naval Architects</a>.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/113496/image/large-83008deb50f8381d6845d1d5a5ffd4ab.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/113496">With such a varied path to yacht design, here Jaron takes SuperYacht Times through the six steps to his superyacht design success.&nbsp;1. My 11 years and 50,000 sea miles of active sea experience have significantly affected the look and function of my designs. As a user of a boat, you know what is required with things like the anchor arrangement and the chain locker - both things are annoying if they are not well designed! We also design to comply with the classification society and try not to go beyond that too much, but, for example, when it comes to the anchor, we often use heavier anchors than are recommended from classification as from personal experience, I know how important it is. Another example is the wetness of the forward deck: those things you cannot study: you have to do it by feeling and there is no instruction manual on how to create a dry bow or a wet bow. There is nothing compared to practical experience. You do it by feeling. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/17101/image/large-d60e0fee10b407d71fb83cb889f4bf22.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/17101">2. There were a few milestones that helped me along the way. One of them was the 48-metre motor yacht called <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1512" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Elsa48.35m (158'8&quot;)Scheepswerf Peter Sijperda2004">Elsa</a> (previously named Grace), but unfortunately she was a total loss on the rocks in Saba. They were not at anchor, they were on a sinker which apparently was too light for them. Actually, the owner of this boat told me when we started: there is no budget, I don’t want stabilisers but I want a comfortable boat and so we played with the beam until the boat was just about compliant with the rules for cargo ships because at the time, she was registered as a cargo ship. The owner told me that after years of chartering in Norway, he never once missed the stabilisers. It all went very well until he wanted to sell the boat, as no one wanted a boat without stabilisers and to add them at that late stage was a difficult task, but eventually he did sell her. It’s unfortunate how it ended. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/16031/image/large-fe4ee191dd38124d54b40a91ebb5f312.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/16031">A second milestone was the 2006 <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/323" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Metsuyan IV36.2m (118'9&quot;)CBI Navi2006">Metsuyan IV</a> - a 36-metre we did with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/284" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CBI Navi (Company)">CBI Navi</a> - this was an exceptionally nice project. Once these milestones were completed, we went on to do six projects in Moscow by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/442" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Timmerman Yachts (Company)">Timmerman Yachts</a> and another six boats in Ukraine. Later we did many boats in Turkey and are still very busy there, as well as in Holland, mainly with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> and with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/293" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mulder Shipyard (Company)">Mulder</a>, and workboats with de Haas Maasluis.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/68362/image/large-cc989b558a19264f1219de4a127487a6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68362">3. About half of our work is what we have designed ourselves. The other half we get from styling designers like <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/234" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Guido de Groot Design (Company)">Guido de Groot</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/43" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cor D. Rover Design (Company)">Cor de Rover</a> and others. Shipyards make up 50% of our client-base such as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/752" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mengi-Yay (Company)">Mengi Yay</a>, who we work very harmoniously with and with whom we have completed nine boats since 2009. The very first boat with them was the successful 41-metre motor yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/4585" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="My Steel41.0m (134'6&quot;)Mengi-Yay2011">My Steel</a> and a repeat order immediately followed. The latest was the 44m <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6838" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tatiana V43.7m (143'4&quot;)Mengi-Yay2019">Virtus</a> which was launched last year and has already been sold. With <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/293" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mulder Shipyard (Company)">Mulder</a> shipyard we did the naval architecture for 13 boats, including the 30-metre A Squared as well as the 22-metre Fairwind, and followed with six boats with the same hull over the years. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van Der Valk</a> shipyard has assigned us for the naval architecture of eight yachts including the 37-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5022" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Santa Maria T36.8m (120'9&quot;)Van der Valk Shipyard2015">Santa Maria T</a> and the fast boat series called ‘Beachclub.’ <img src="/uploads/store/photo/103996/image/large-6be9cec5fa11d12d6d745116d1155664.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/103996"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/104004/image/large-4710a139e8bb2d865caab827a5319b89.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/104004">4.&nbsp;We don’t tend to experiment with new hull shapes and we are reserved with adopting new trends without recognising the side effects. For example, when it started to become fashionable to adopt a straight bow, we recognised the advantages of the longer waterline and more space at the bow, however, this also has two drawbacks. One is that the anchor chain may touch the stem when swinging on anchor and the other is the wetness of the bow deck. Whilst the anchor is a drawback one should just accept, the wetness of the deck could be improved scientifically by adding a pronounced spray rail above the waterline, and obviously, having a high bow also contributes. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/22743/image/large-7986dda2c894f1e161a324c212b6080c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/22743">5. The 31.2-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> boat <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7194" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vanadis31.2m (102'4&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2019">Vanadis</a> was the first time we did a hybrid with a pod drive on board. We needed to facilitate the space in the engine room for the electrical system and so we created one small generator room at the bow and one engine room at the stern. One big advantage of this setup is that you don’t need to put the accommodation at the point of the bow but it starts a few metres behind the collision bulkhead where the boat is much wider. The pod drive has its own advantages compared to a conventional propeller, as the propellor is directed to the stream, whereas with the conventional propellor you have a shaft angle which is not the natural position in relation to the stream, so you have less vibration and higher efficiency as a consequence. With <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7194" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vanadis31.2m (102'4&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2019">Vanadis</a>, we were the winners of the Boat International Design &amp; Innovation ‘Eco Award‘ this year. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/111696/image/large-9dfa866de2816c3d01b975bb0dc6ee93.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/111696"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/111702/image/large-d6c1ac6ed9d145b3c3925122ecb895ed.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/111702">6. I think it is impossible to predict the future of the industry, but taking into account what’s happening for us now, it looks positive. Under construction we have a 42-metre sloop with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/752" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mengi-Yay (Company)">Mengi Yay</a>, which is very much our style. Also, the 41-metre M55 at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/191" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Yildiz Shipyard (Company)">Yildiz Shipyard</a> will be launched this year alongside the 43-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7070" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sunrise 43.06m (141'3&quot;)Yildiz Shipyard2019">Sunrise</a>, which was delivered to her owner at the end of December. In the Netherlands, we are involved in an extension of a large yacht and we are also refitting a 50-metre Russian/East German fish factory boat called Kaspryba built in 1992 in East Germany which will become a geological research vessel. The process is very similar when working on both a yacht and a commercial vessel. That said, we do not identify too much with supersonic boats and styling is not our major activity. The Italian press has reported that Gavio Group, owner of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">Cerri Cantieri Navali</a> (CCN) and Bertram in the US, will merge its Italian shipyards under the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> brand. The plan, first reported by the daily newspaper La Repubblica, is also to open a European branch of the Tampa-based Bertram brand. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> has confirmed the merger will take place, hopefully before the end of the year, but declined to make further comment at this stage. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/89574/image/large-ef38be90dbdab7c459092fdc808b7c83.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89574">The reported motive is designed to maximise the synergy between the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> facility in Carrara and the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> headquarters in La Spezia, but it will also help to simplify and strengthen brand identity in a busy market, much as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/51" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Perini Navi (Company)">Perini Navi</a> chose to do by merging with Picchiotti. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> can rely on its iconic Flying Seagull logo and more than 160 years of history, whereas <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> has invested heavily in its E-Prop hybrid propulsion (31.2-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7194" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vanadis31.2m (102'4&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2019">Vanadis</a> was the first motor yacht built in Italy to obtain Lloyds’ Hybrid Power certification). Once a builder of fibreglass series yachts, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> has also increasingly diversified into one-off projects in steel and aluminium. &nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/89571/image/large-020ede546073a7d92acf722c080e2d5e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89571">Following the merger, the ‘new’ <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> will have two production plants focused on building superyachts from 30-70 metres in steel, aluminium and composite. The plan is that the former <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> yard in Carrara will build the new hulls while the outfitting and finishing, as well as maintenance and refit works, will be carried out in La Spezia. The hulls will be built in Florida, but they will be fitted out in Italy to reduce duties on importing the finished product from the US. Like all Italian shipyards, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> are <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/coronavirus-yacht-industry-italy" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">currently affected by the coronavirus pandemic</a>. Administrative staff are working from home, but production is continuing for the time being at both facilities. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/375" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Baglietto S.p.A. (Company)">Baglietto</a> has had to delay the launch of two new builds, a 40-metre and 55-metre designed by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4364" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Horacio Bozzo Design (Company)">Horacio Bozzo</a>, which were scheduled to hit the water over the next few weeks.

Thanks to the yacht’s hybrid configuration, slender bow and shallow stern, the main engine compartment is located at the stern and the genset compartment at the bow, effectively freeing up available volume for the yacht’s guests and crew.

CCN's 39.8-metre yacht, Panam, has moved into the outfitting stage of her construction process and is on schedule to be delivered to her European owner during summer 2020. Ordered last September, the new superyacht will feature both exterior and interior designs by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/586" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Francesco Paszkowski (Company)">Francesco Paszkowski Design</a>, who worked in cooperation with architect Margherita Casprini. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/89801/image/large-29fd893cf14e4fc881b701428085bd21.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89801"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/89800/image/large-581d60529277d2f2db746187c82c8a16.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/89800">The hull and the superstructure, interior layout of the decks, installation of hydraulic and electrical systems, bow thruster, stabilising fins and insulation have all been completed.
