Originally built in Tasmania in 1979 at the <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2053" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ray Kemp (Company)">Ray Kemp</a> shipyard, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3493" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Princess Iluka34.5m (113'2&quot;)Ray Kemp1979">Princess Iluka</a> is made from Tasmanian Oak and &nbsp;the now protected Tasmanian Huon Pine, with a genuine claim as a piece of Australian history. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/73459/image/large-5aa724259c2243fde445b23faa3a9f72.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/73459">The superyacht's keel came from one single tree, believed to be 750 years old and once harvested, it had to cure for two years until building could commence.
