Burgess Yachts closes the year with $2.5 billion in sales

Burgess Yachts has reported that its sales for 2022 have surpassed $2.5 billion. The breakdown of the success comes mainly from the brokerage with over $2 billion in sales, while charter is up on pre-pandemic levels by around 50 percent and the New Build team is up by 20 percent.Burgess marketing yachts MonacoPhoto: Burgess“I am delighted with the team’s unstoppable efforts,” confirmed CEO Jonathan Beckett. The brokerage firm celebrated another successful year, with the addition of the 72-metre Albatross to its sales fleet the day before the Monaco Yacht Show. The Delta superyacht sold a few days later, making it one of the fastest deals on record for Burgess.Albatross yacht cruisingThe sales team managed to close four yachts in seven days in the final quarter including; the 39.6-metre CRN motor yacht 5G (now Aero), the 52.3-metre Amels superyacht Lind, Albatross and a confidential deal in excess of €100 million.Lind yacht cruising“Our service is unrivaled, and we simply get the job done, whether we are selling a 30 metre yacht or 100 metre – we deliver the same service to our clients. At the end of the day, we are in the relationship business, and this is where we shine,” explained Richard Lambert, Head of Sales.

The charter team celebrated 860 trips this year, with clients collectively spending 1,100 weeks or 7,700 days on charter this year. “Our US clients were ready to get back to the Mediterranean, after many chose to charter closer to home in the Bahamas or Caribbean for the last couple of years,” commented Head of Charter, Ben Harwood.Burgess marketing content The peak weeks for charter were from mid-June to mid-August, where the Burgess fleet was booked out. This meant that clients had to book very early to ensure that they got the choice of yachts for the weeks they wanted. This trend is already extending to both 2023 and 2024, with Burgess signing another 23 yachts to meet these demands.Burgess marketing content This year Burgess introduced the New Build Sales team to build on the success of its Technical Services. The highly experienced team of sales brokers and naval architects allows for a seamless experience for clients that are wishing to build a new yacht.
