Third Southern Wind SW96 sailing yacht Ammonite under construction

Sailing yacht Ammonite, the third unit of the 31.41-metre Southern Wind SW96 miniseries, is currently under construction at the Cape Town-based Southern Wind shipyard and is due for delivery during 2020. Built for an owner eager to experience the performance capabilities of the SW96 miniseries, Ammonite is the perfect blend of her two predecessors, Sorceress and Seatius. Detailings and electrical systems will be done in-house by the Southern Wind shipyard. Unlike the first two units from the SW96 miniseries, Ammonite will have a tender garage able to accommodate a 3.95-metre tender and two side lazarettes. Crew members are accommodated for in a large captain’s cabin with double bunk beds portside and a Pullman bunk crew cabin starboard. A corridor with minimal level changes between the cockpit and guest area assures smooth and safe circulation when cruising. The raised saloon configuration provides guests with excellent visibility through the coach room windows with the two lateral skylights and central hatch allowing abundant natural light in.
