The design is based on successful offshore crew supply models based on the same multihull platform and heavily modified for the luxury yacht market without sacrificing any of its oceangoing capabilities. <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yachts/hodor" target="_blank">Hodor’s</a> strength lies in its ability to safely carry a fleet of five tenders on its aft decks and to deal with helicopter operations without having to disrupt life on the mothership. A fully-certified helicopter landing pad with a D-value of 16m can accommodate helicopters up to 6t such as the popular EC145. The largest tender carried on board is a custom 17-metre (56 ft) chase boat with four high-performance Seven Marine outboard engines. There’s certainly something about Sander Sinot. Speaking with a smooth Dutch accent and emanating a noticeably relaxed and humble persona, Sinot nonchalantly drifts over the details whilst conversing about the intricacies of some of the most complex superyacht projects the industry has ever seen. These details are the stuff of dreams and are clearly put together through a passion and integrity to create something that will not only turn heads, but also make a difference.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/111338/image/large-e27d7500c85dfdcbaa8c9e5c63610b5c.png" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/111338">The way he conducts business is through his eponymous design house which, after over a decade in the industry, has been behind the likes of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6413" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lonian87.0m (285'5&quot;)Feadship2018">Lonian</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5634" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Illusion Plus88.5m (290'4&quot;)Pride Mega Yachts2018">Illusion Plus</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5848" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Aquarius56.0m (183'9&quot;)Royal Huisman Shipyard BV2018">Aquarius</a> and the soon-to-be Black Shark and Cosmos. With this in mind, the curiosity to see what Sander is like as a boss takes over.&nbsp;“It is not just me; we are a design house. I see ourselves as a brand that stands for the quality and creativity we give. I like flat management and we work in a very specific manner to ensure we are efficient and effective with good communication. The first six months of a yacht is intense because that is when we develop GAs and interiors. Here, the designers and CGI specialists make the renders, then, if approved, it moves to the technical specialists, FF&amp;E and project management teams. It works well!”&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/100794/image/large-faf5f89a7f559d99d9611bedbaec8b54.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/100794"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/100793/image/large-0f29e48d7d0c7dbc42ad9cec4c0047dd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/100793">There are more intricate qualities in the way Sinot operates his business and for the past five years, he has devised a particular theme to help focus some of the studio’s design concepts aside from those created especially to the client’s needs and wishes. The themes: zen, nature, balance, art of life and aqua, have noticeably energised and inspired the designer’s output and are all an extension of Sinot’s dreamy and extensive imagination. Now, “2020 is the year of poetry.”&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/95549/image/large-a52ade8895d7c3e201465352b8931492.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/95549"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/95545/image/large-d984cb0c88423360c5ca31bf16588cbd.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/95545">“The poetry theme will look at materials, the inner value of something and how we spend our lives with a mixture of elements that people don’t normally think about. A yacht will, of course, have speakers and a sound system, but we approach this by asking how poetry is applied to music. There will be poetry behind everything, so our pieces in the room around will all have a story to tell. Most owners like that,”&nbsp;he adds. Responding to our interest in knowing when we will see the first results of the new theme, Sinot reveals that the concept is still in development. “These ideas always grow once you start, there is a foundation upon which you can build. It’s hard to tell when something is coming - it is unpredictable.”&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/96167/image/large-11ee25fdc030825b2d46c371eca7348e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/96167">It is intriguing to see how Sinot does not shun his natural call for creativity, especially when it comes to the official showcasing of the theme in question. As done previously, Sinot’s intentions with each theme are relayed spectacularly through passages of descriptive and thought-provoking text, accompanied by striking artistic imagery and high-fashion photography.&nbsp;“These themes give designs more of a reason – such as how a painting that uses a lot of colours does so to tell the whole story,” he concludes.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/98437/image/large-e80b5b392f4a56ede2e9ee9f3f22d667.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/98437">Clearly a character who prioritises a visionary outlook, Sinot was born to be a designer. Having started his design career in New York at the agency of Henry Dreyfuss, Sinot hit the ground running, working on design formulas for industrial products, planes, trains and speedboats. Sinot’s time in New York with the legendary industrial designer still influences his work today as the Dreyfuss studio was the first design agency to use CAD systems and consequently inspired the studio to be one of the first in yachting to start churning out computer renders over two decades ago. The exceptionally high-quality renders from <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/926" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design (Company)">Sinot</a> are not only thanks to the founder being “a fan of tech”,&nbsp;but also to his certainty that an early investment in such technology would pay off - which it has. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/98451/image/large-b481aaffd189bed78f5075c7010d8843.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/98451">The latest radical new set of renders to come from Sinot’s studio are of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/50417" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="AQUA: The 112m hydrogen-powered superyacht by Sinot (2019-09-20 13:30:00 +0200)">the 112-metre hydrogen-powered Aqua</a>, which dominated the <a href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Monaco Yacht Show - 2019">Monaco Yacht Show</a> as another rendition of <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/926" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design (Company)">Sinot Yacht Architecture &amp; Design</a>’s continuously impressive performance at industry shows. After five months of development, the team of designers and engineers curated a liquid hydrogen and fuel cell technology power system which converts liquified hydrogen into electricity for the propulsion system and hotel services, all based on existing energy-saving systems and technology. “My interest in Aqua is due to a combination of objectives. Throughout the whole yacht, we have put in innovations for ourselves as a design exercise. Even issues like finding the shortest possible route that food can move from the galley to the table in order to maintain the temperature are factors that I don’t believe everybody considers,”&nbsp;describes Sinot.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/98432/image/large-222a8afa6fc548b22783100126f935b5.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/98432"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/98428/image/large-3f7c0a769911c6105dd2ee74a984406c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/98428">Aqua is one of the largest and most complex concepts to come out of 2019 and for Sinot, is the yacht he would have himself. Although agreeing that taking on certain challenges is healthy, Sinot reflects on what he and his team had to overcome to create such a spectacular superyacht. “Everything had to work together: not just for aesthetics, but the technical platform. For some reason, we are now in the market to accommodate more 100m+ yachts, which is a different league."<img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/110873/image/large-fc04e84da5678e3d50fee990397b810d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/110873"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/98433/image/large-3a5e647b4d9187d4059ac7e2a4dc8f46.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/98433">Sinot is right. For the section of the fleet which is measuring up to triple-figure digits, these ladies are in a league of their own, as is the 77.25-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6300" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pi77.25m (253'5&quot;)Feadship2019">Pi</a> (originally named Syzygy 818) from <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/29" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Feadship (Company)">Feadship</a> which, with her wealth of glass and slick sword-like profile, was a fascinating new addition to the world fleet in 2019. For first-timer exterior designer <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5284" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Jarkko Jämsén - Aivan (Company)">Jarkko Jämsén</a>, his work and alliance with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/926" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sinot Yacht Architecture & Design (Company)">Sinot</a>’s interiors have been showcased as an iconic evolution of superyacht design. After having visited the owner at his house in Japan, Sinot cultivated an interior design for the new superyacht that reflects the Japanese culture and “moves away from being entirely glamorous.” “This is more of a ‘beach house style,’” he explains. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/99444/image/large-78fe21674e94e4c48df8cc01ff1ad6ee.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/99444">The designer’s unfading affection for Japan is illustrated in aspects such as the superyacht’s free-standing bathtubs and surfaces, all carved and shaped from the wood of the Japanese pine Hinoki and cedar tree and left in their bare, natural form. “Besides the fact that they smell nice, they are very light woods to work with. We must respect that nature makes the most beautiful materials and so sometimes, you just don’t have to do much with the materials, they are already beautiful in their natural state,”&nbsp;he adds. &nbsp;Sinot is visibly passionate about his work for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6300" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pi77.25m (253'5&quot;)Feadship2019">Pi</a> and his admiration for Japan and the Japanese style. “I am a very big fan of their culture. I think they have the best artisans and craftsmen in the world. I once had a large collection of samurai swords and if you understand how they are made, it’s unbelievable. It takes months and months to make - the opposite of mass production, it’s dedication. The Japanese are masters in culture and nature.”&nbsp;<img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/98720/image/large-e5dd61820e445b94f19ac43978ff253e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/98720">After prying more into his design preferences and what he considers to be some of the fundamental aspects of design, Sinot shares more of his inner workings and thought processes.&nbsp;“Good design is when it is not a design. It should not just exist; it should be a manifestation of something for not only a functional reason but also an aesthetically pleasing reason. For example, with this chair I am sitting on, you can sit on it in many ways and push the boundaries of the design. We didn’t design this chair, but I like it! An integrated cinema screen at the end of the pool is hooked up to the yacht’s high-end audio installation - a feature which was made possible after the build team spent time creating a life-sized mock-up of the stern. The remaining eight guests can reside in the additional four staterooms, whereas the owner is allocated the owner’s deck with a large skylight and flush foredeck with a Jacuzzi and bespoke cooling and heating functionality.&nbsp;After exercising in the bridge deck gym, with connecting doors giving the option to workout either inside or alfresco, the owners jump into the chilled plunge pool. A special IMO Tier 3 compliant exhaust cleaning system reduces greenhouse gasses emitted by the vessel. Earlier today, the new 87-metre superyacht Lonian passed through downtown Amsterdam as one of Feadship’s latest superyachts prepares for delivery. Following a private christening celebration earlier this week, Feadship is drawing ever closer to the delivery of its newest superyacht. Named Lonian, the project took 3 years to complete and brought together countless skilled craftsmen and women from the superyacht business and beyond. It was an early start for Feadship as the Dutch builder launched yet another yacht today. The 87-metre motor yacht Lonian was unveiled at the crack of dawn and SuperYacht Times was there to capture the moment together with photographer Tom van Oossanen. Feadship launches 87m superyacht Lonian

The Dutch shipyard, Feadship has given SuperYacht Times an exclusive update on their order book, which consists of 17 projects. It is the first time the shipyard has released their complete order book, with the company usually only announcing their projects when they are in the outfitting stage. However, with more information freely available today than ever before, and a need for more transparency in the business, Feadship has decided to release their full order book.&nbsp;The 17 projects have a total combined length of 1,314.48 metres and the average length of a project on order at Feadship is 77.32 metres.&nbsp;Feadship superyachts are currently being built at three different locations, however, from next year a new yard in Amsterdam <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/feadship-s-new-amsterdam-shipyard-on-track-for-2019-completion" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">will be opened</a>. Here we look at the projects across all of the different facilities, however, we do not yet know which of the Royal Van Lent projects will be built in the new Amsterdam facility.&nbsp; Kaag (&amp; Amsterdam) – Royal Van Lent Royal Van Lent currently has six projects underway which range from 71.5-metres to 94-metres. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/20281/image/large-92c3a25149ff14bba1e081fb8a6479a9.JPG" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/20281" style="background-color: initial; font-size: 0.85rem;"> 814 – 93m – 2019 Project 814 (pictured above) is a 93-metre motor yacht from the drawing boards of Michael Leach Design, with an interior by Reymond Langton Design. In November 2016 her hull was completed and she is currently <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Article/46647" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="93m Feadship hull spotted in Holland (2016-11-29 09:10:00 +0100)">inside the Kaag yard</a> and due for delivery in 2019.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/7636/image/large-622df554a36e74b0af067527ef67c440.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/7636"> 815 – 73.6m – 2018&nbsp; The first project to be launched from the Royal Van Lent facility is the 73.6m project 815 (photo above). Her hull was <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/feadship-hull-815-on-the-move" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">pictured in the Dutch landscape</a> by SuperYacht Times in April 2017. As can be seen on the photos of her hull, she looks like a true adventure yacht and it will be interesting to see what the finished vessel will look like and whether the owner will use her for global exploration adventures.&nbsp;88m Little is known about this project, and judging by her current delivery date it will be a significant time before we will see anything substantial from her.<img src="/uploads/store/photo/20971/image/large-077335697960378d3d8f1f98b5c94288.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/20971" style="background-color: initial; font-size: 0.85rem;"> 818 – 75m – 2019 On Tuesday of this week, SYT captured the <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/first-look-new-75m-feadship-superyacht-launched" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">launch of the hull of project 818</a> (see photo above). After the launch, she was transported to Kaag for her final fitting before her delivery next year. Although details of the project are scarce, we know that the yacht will have a straight bow. Two further projects are in build at Royal Van Lent with a total length of 165.5 metres. Aalsmeer (Koninklijke De Vries)The Aalsmeer yard of Koninklijke De Vries will deliver eight superyachts between now and 2020 and they will range in length from 47 metres up to 87 metres. The first will be Project 697, which has already been launched. 697 – 47m – 2018 This classically styled Feadship was <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/feadship-launches-47m-superyacht-project-697" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">launched in October</a> and will be the first Feadship delivery of 2018. Project 697 is a tri-deck displacement yacht sporting a steel hull finished in Midnight Blue and a Matterhorn White aluminium superstructure.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/16123/image/large-65295e0c9a3202c10c5fa0aa486a815a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/16123"> Alongside her classic design, however Project 697 also features some contemporary components, including grilles on the mast, the sides of the superstructure and the main deck forward, which are part of the underlying aluminium structure (for more details about the design of Project 697, see <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/new-details-revealed-on-feadship-project-697" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">here.)</a><img src="/uploads/store/photo/14663/image/large-705a7fd1a00232acc3aed69a223cd059.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/14663" style="background-color: initial; font-size: 0.85rem;"> 699 – 58m – 2019 SYT captured the completed hull and superstructure of this project designed by Philippe Briand under the Vitruvius brand in <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/on-scene-60m-feadship-vitruvius-yacht-on-the-move" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">October 2017</a> (photo above). The interior of the 58-metre all aluminium motor yacht is designed by Studio Liaigre, and described as ‘a beach house on the water’. The displacement motor yacht is designed by De Voogt Naval Architects with an interior by Bannenberg &amp; Rowell Design.75m No further details have been revealed about this superyacht project.A further three projects are in build at De Vries with a total length of 196.5 metres.&nbsp; Makkum (Koninklijke De Vries)The largest Feadship yachts are being built in the Makkum Facility. The last yacht that was launched from this facility was the 96-metre Faith, as well as the largest Feadship ever in build, the 110-metre Project 1007, which is currently under construction and due for delivery later this year.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/5456/image/large-09b634fcd1b240dc5dffb50ad5d6b50d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/5456"> 1007 – 110m – 2018 With her 110-metre length, 1007 (photo above) will be the largest yacht ever built by Feadship and the second largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands, after the 110.1-metre Oceanco Jubilee. The exterior of project 1008 has been designed by Michael Leach Design and the completed hull and superstructure was <a href="https://www.superyachttimes.com/yacht-news/in-build-feadship-s-110m-hull-1007-on-the-move" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="">captured by the SYT team in December 2016,</a> while on the move to the facility in Makkum (photo above).99m No further details have yet been revealed about this superyacht project.&nbsp;One further project is in build at Makkum with a length of 95 metres.

Feadship superyacht order book revealed

The SYT media team was on site today to follow the transport of the latest Feadship hull on transport through the Dutch countryside to their Aalsmeer facility.
