Finding himself today in the quintessentially Dutch city of Haarlem, Israeli-born Jaron Ginton has taken the scenic route into superyacht naval architecture and exterior design. Serving five years as an officer in the Israeli navy before becoming charter captain of a 24-metre schooner and a 20-metre motorboat and travelling across the ocean to the Caribbean on a wooden sailing boat with his now-wife, “It was only at the age of 29 that I started to study naval architecture and then went into business with my partner, Ferri Weber,” Ginton explains. “After 11 years, in 2002, we split and I formed&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/285" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Ginton Naval Architects (Company)">Ginton Naval Architects</a>.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/113496/image/large-83008deb50f8381d6845d1d5a5ffd4ab.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/113496">With such a varied path to yacht design, here Jaron takes SuperYacht Times through the six steps to his superyacht design success.&nbsp;1. My 11 years and 50,000 sea miles of active sea experience have significantly affected the look and function of my designs. As a user of a boat, you know what is required with things like the anchor arrangement and the chain locker - both things are annoying if they are not well designed! We also design to comply with the classification society and try not to go beyond that too much, but, for example, when it comes to the anchor, we often use heavier anchors than are recommended from classification as from personal experience, I know how important it is. Another example is the wetness of the forward deck: those things you cannot study: you have to do it by feeling and there is no instruction manual on how to create a dry bow or a wet bow. There is nothing compared to practical experience. You do it by feeling. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/17101/image/large-d60e0fee10b407d71fb83cb889f4bf22.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/17101">2. There were a few milestones that helped me along the way. One of them was the 48-metre motor yacht called <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/1512" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Elsa48.35m (158'8&quot;)Scheepswerf Peter Sijperda2004">Elsa</a> (previously named Grace), but unfortunately she was a total loss on the rocks in Saba. They were not at anchor, they were on a sinker which apparently was too light for them. Actually, the owner of this boat told me when we started: there is no budget, I don’t want stabilisers but I want a comfortable boat and so we played with the beam until the boat was just about compliant with the rules for cargo ships because at the time, she was registered as a cargo ship. The owner told me that after years of chartering in Norway, he never once missed the stabilisers. It all went very well until he wanted to sell the boat, as no one wanted a boat without stabilisers and to add them at that late stage was a difficult task, but eventually he did sell her. It’s unfortunate how it ended. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/16031/image/large-fe4ee191dd38124d54b40a91ebb5f312.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/16031">A second milestone was the 2006 <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/323" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Metsuyan IV36.2m (118'9&quot;)CBI Navi2006">Metsuyan IV</a> - a 36-metre we did with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/284" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CBI Navi (Company)">CBI Navi</a> - this was an exceptionally nice project. Once these milestones were completed, we went on to do six projects in Moscow by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/442" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Timmerman Yachts (Company)">Timmerman Yachts</a> and another six boats in Ukraine. Later we did many boats in Turkey and are still very busy there, as well as in Holland, mainly with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van der Valk</a> and with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/293" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mulder Shipyard (Company)">Mulder</a>, and workboats with de Haas Maasluis.&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/68362/image/large-cc989b558a19264f1219de4a127487a6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/68362">3. About half of our work is what we have designed ourselves. The other half we get from styling designers like <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/234" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Guido de Groot Design (Company)">Guido de Groot</a>, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/43" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Cor D. Rover Design (Company)">Cor de Rover</a> and others. Shipyards make up 50% of our client-base such as <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/752" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mengi-Yay (Company)">Mengi Yay</a>, who we work very harmoniously with and with whom we have completed nine boats since 2009. The very first boat with them was the successful 41-metre motor yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/4585" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="My Steel41.0m (134'6&quot;)Mengi-Yay2011">My Steel</a> and a repeat order immediately followed. The latest was the 44m <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/6838" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tatiana V43.7m (143'4&quot;)Mengi-Yay2019">Virtus</a> which was launched last year and has already been sold. With <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/293" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mulder Shipyard (Company)">Mulder</a> shipyard we did the naval architecture for 13 boats, including the 30-metre A Squared as well as the 22-metre Fairwind, and followed with six boats with the same hull over the years. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2948" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Van der Valk Shipyard (Company)">Van Der Valk</a> shipyard has assigned us for the naval architecture of eight yachts including the 37-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5022" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Santa Maria T36.8m (120'9&quot;)Van der Valk Shipyard2015">Santa Maria T</a> and the fast boat series called ‘Beachclub.’ <img src="/uploads/store/photo/103996/image/large-6be9cec5fa11d12d6d745116d1155664.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/103996"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/104004/image/large-4710a139e8bb2d865caab827a5319b89.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/104004">4.&nbsp;We don’t tend to experiment with new hull shapes and we are reserved with adopting new trends without recognising the side effects. For example, when it started to become fashionable to adopt a straight bow, we recognised the advantages of the longer waterline and more space at the bow, however, this also has two drawbacks. One is that the anchor chain may touch the stem when swinging on anchor and the other is the wetness of the bow deck. Whilst the anchor is a drawback one should just accept, the wetness of the deck could be improved scientifically by adding a pronounced spray rail above the waterline, and obviously, having a high bow also contributes. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/22743/image/large-7986dda2c894f1e161a324c212b6080c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/22743">5. The 31.2-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/5398" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="CCN - Pisa (Company)">CCN</a> boat <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7194" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vanadis31.2m (102'4&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2019">Vanadis</a> was the first time we did a hybrid with a pod drive on board. We needed to facilitate the space in the engine room for the electrical system and so we created one small generator room at the bow and one engine room at the stern. One big advantage of this setup is that you don’t need to put the accommodation at the point of the bow but it starts a few metres behind the collision bulkhead where the boat is much wider. The pod drive has its own advantages compared to a conventional propeller, as the propellor is directed to the stream, whereas with the conventional propellor you have a shaft angle which is not the natural position in relation to the stream, so you have less vibration and higher efficiency as a consequence. With <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7194" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Vanadis31.2m (102'4&quot;)Cerri Cantieri Navali (CCN)2019">Vanadis</a>, we were the winners of the Boat International Design &amp; Innovation ‘Eco Award‘ this year. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/111696/image/large-9dfa866de2816c3d01b975bb0dc6ee93.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/111696"><img src="/uploads/store/photo/111702/image/large-d6c1ac6ed9d145b3c3925122ecb895ed.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/111702">6. I think it is impossible to predict the future of the industry, but taking into account what’s happening for us now, it looks positive. Under construction we have a 42-metre sloop with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/752" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Mengi-Yay (Company)">Mengi Yay</a>, which is very much our style. Also, the 41-metre M55 at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/191" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Yildiz Shipyard (Company)">Yildiz Shipyard</a> will be launched this year alongside the 43-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/7070" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Sunrise 43.06m (141'3&quot;)Yildiz Shipyard2019">Sunrise</a>, which was delivered to her owner at the end of December. In the Netherlands, we are involved in an extension of a large yacht and we are also refitting a 50-metre Russian/East German fish factory boat called Kaspryba built in 1992 in East Germany which will become a geological research vessel. The process is very similar when working on both a yacht and a commercial vessel. That said, we do not identify too much with supersonic boats and styling is not our major activity. Last April, the CBI Navi Shipyard launched a 40 metre motor yacht built by the FIPA Group member and designed by Ginton Naval Architects from The Netherlands. During the successful naming ceremony, the champagne bottle broke immediately and the yacht was christened Gattopardo VI. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/132136/image/large-8206bfe499658afdeac03ce9db528246.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/132136">Exterior styling and naval architecture were done jointly by the Shipyard Naval Architects and by Jaron Ginton based on the successful M/Y <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/323">Metsuyan IV</a>, built by the FIPA Group Shipyards in 2006. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/132137/image/large-bd98dee39d1b9af1f0bec6d20f434a28.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/132137">The 40-metre offers plenty of space on 4 comfortable decks, where eight guests are generously accommodated in four VIP suites. Words and Photos by Maarten JanssenA recent invitation by Edmiston, to join them on a 4 day charter in Turkey, provided the perfect opportunity to explore this beautiful unspoilt area, on board one of the region’s finest superyachts, Metsuyan IV. Our itinerary would take us from Göcek to Fethiye, with stops in beautiful tranquil anchorages along the way. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131727/image/large-a010ae3b3283d5a4f35058d7210e9f81.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131727">Göcek is the perfect starting point for a charter in the Turkish Muğla Province. This small village is easily accessible from Dalaman International Airport, a short 20 minute drive away. Direct flights from most European countries and several flights from Istanbul arrive at the new terminal daily. Göcek, despite being a small village, hosts six significant marinas that serve yachting tourism in the region: Club Marina, Skopea Marina, Municipality Marinas, Marinturk Göcek Village Port, Marinturk Göcek Exclusive and Port Göcek Marina. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131728/image/large-174ec372ebf7ed9b1c8da293fa479647.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131728"><a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/323">Metsuyan IV</a> was docked at the Skopea Marina, and after a swift transfer from the airport arranged by Begüm Yachting, I was welcomed on board by Captain Clive Carrington-Wood, who joined the guests in the upper deck lounge, where Chief steward Adbi had prepared his signature cocktails. Dinner followed in the main deck dining room, where Chef, Rebecca, had prepared a delightful welcome dinner. The first night was spent in port, as 3 guests would not arrive until the next day. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131729/image/large-cff3122ddebd4420340c47733592cfb7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131729">The following morning was spent getting accustomed with the yacht. Metsuyan IV is a practical, comfortable and stylish superyacht, built in 2006. The two large tenders (both fast enough for waterskiing), two jet-skis, scuba gear and lots of other water sports equipment (including a diving board that fits onto the side of the sun deck) are some of the features available for the active guest and a delight for the children. At anchor, guests can access the crow's nest, a small platform on top of the radar arch, providing stunning views of the surroundings; the zero-speed stabilizers guarantee minimal movement for complete guest comfort. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131733/image/large-02b782baf7f97dd30ffe4ba64e5e21f8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131733"><a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/323">Metsuyan IV</a>’s crew had the yacht ready for departure, as soon as our charter party was complete. After the customary safety briefing by the captain, lunch was served on the upper deck, and we quietly slid out of our berth. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131734/image/large-3202749fa67c75593bacd5a0579c1adc.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131734">     <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131735/image/large-d71a86eabf7398c718d76a077d3a0c72.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131735"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131736/image/large-665017e3eab0361aed29d700c972bef7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131736">By the time lunch had finished, we had moved into a deserted deep anchorage, Southwest of Göcek, where we moored stern to to the rocks. Despite being relatively early in the season, the temperature had risen to a comfortable 26 degrees, and our guests were ready to try out some of the yacht’s water toys. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131737/image/large-26f62a98f628ce8c5e1dc73c1ce36dbe.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131737">The crew quickly had the inflatable banana ready for use, and after having overcome the initial shock of the fresh water temperature (the average water temperature in Gocek in May is 19 degrees), many hours were spent in the water, followed by sundowners on the upper deck. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131738/image/large-3e8235deb0cd7ac02c0b80f7f6087dc0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131738">Whilst guests retired to their cabins to freshen up for the night, the crew had set up the sundeck for a sumptuous barbeque, which lasted until well after midnight. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131739/image/large-4f9483afbfaf3791b604f0d4f9debc49.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131739">The next morning, whilst most guests were still fast asleep, Captain Carrington-Wood got the yacht underway for the two and a half hour cruise towards the uninhabited Gemiler Island, better known as Saint Nicholas Island. We anchored in between the island and Turkey’s mainland, in crystal clear deep blue water. Whilst we were enjoying a prolonged breakfast buffet on the upper deck, which included freshly baked breads, fresh fruit and an endless selection of cereals, <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/323">Metsuyan IV</a>’s crew made all the arrangements for a visit to the island. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131740/image/large-93d1d2889b44d17223001fd77e53d719.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131740">     <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131741/image/large-c4a90a28c266825e32125225ee3330f0.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131741">A short tender ride later, we stepped ashore on the island, which was a residential island during the early Byzantian Period until the 12th century A.D. Some medieval sources claim that Saint Nicholas, better known to all as Santa Claus, lived on the island for some time. There are several vaulted tombs, numerous small houses and religious buildings on the island, some of which still have the original frescoes. The steep climb up to the top of the island was rewarded with beautiful vistas of the Turkish coastline. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131742/image/large-a39f776c3e591700268d9f551bc65dc9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131742">     <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131743/image/large-a688577422bf65b5c51b8a2229f3b698.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131743"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131744/image/large-af5ae96045700b4e227755d71958a095.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131744">A short walk back down the hill, and we were back on the small jetty, where Metsuyan’s large tender picked us up and returned us to the yacht. Chief Steward Abdi was there waiting on the aft deck, with freshly made lemonade. The remainder of the morning was spent swimming and snorkeling in the clear waters, remaining close the yacht, as local fisherman were pottering up and down using the narrow channel as well. For the more adventurous guests, the crew had set up a diving board on the bridge deck, which became an addictive activity until noon. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131745/image/large-f3c86422eeaa473ff18ae8b8cb66dc2b.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131745">We picked the anchor at noon and left for a short cruise towards what is arguably Turkey’s most beautiful beach, in Ölüdeniz. In fact, Ölüdeniz is frequently rated among the top 5 beaches in the world by travellers and tourism journals alike. It has a secluded sandy bay at the mouth of Ölüdeniz, on a blue lagoon. These days, the lagoon is a national nature reserve, famous for its shades of turquoise and aquamarine. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131746/image/large-e70b60b24d862ba60c93cefaef20daeb.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131746">     <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131747/image/large-d279d16a5b1a8206b656d9285bb7c742.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131747">We anchored just around the corner, and again moored to the rocks. The popularity of the area however, does have its downsides. Locally operated Gullets do crowd the area slightly, especially in the high season, however our late May charter was still early enough in the season, to find a quiet spot with ease. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131748/image/large-f519e1b9db6236304e1ace842d62a3a4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131748">Lunch was served on the upper aft deck, and the hours following lunch were spent snoozing on the sunpads by the Jacuzzi. By the time lunch had settled, we once again tried our luck on some of the toys on board. The crew had launched the jet ski, as well as an array of towable toys. It is regarded as one of the best places in the world to paraglide due to its unique panoramic views, and the Babadağ Mountain's exceptional height. Late afternoon, the sky was filled with paragliders, although none of our guests used Captain Clive’s offer to arrange a paraglide of our own. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131751/image/large-1f30c1d13ebe196e082d078b03cc8720.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131751">     <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131752/image/large-89f9739eddf70183e16123e9e1f6e33e.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131752">We eventually pulled anchor late afternoon, for the hour and a half cruise to Fethiye, one of Turkey's well-known tourist centres, where we would spend the night in port. The talented Chef Rebecca, treated us to a wonderful Gorgonzola &amp; Nashi pear parcel with saffron onion jam, sea bream on cauliflower mash, followed by a freshly baked lemon tart. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131753/image/large-96ad1c083d0987673043a4325e867c4d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131753">After dinner, it was only a short stroll into town to walk off our delicious evening meal. Souvenirs were bought at the spice market and in the many pottery shops, and after a few drinks in one of the many local bars, everyone headed back to the yacht. Unbeknown to us, the crew had set up the karaoke machine in the main salon, which proved to be a great hit! Soon we were all singing the night away. The following morning, it was blisteringly hot. Yet, the opportunity to see the ancient tombs and the ruins of the Hellenistic theatre could not be resisted. The latter was easily found, its location is just outside the marina Quai. The main attraction however were the Lycian tombs, located a little further from the port. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131754/image/large-46b5d9815d612e7096431325cc821a17.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131754">     <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131755/image/large-073b080b300d3ab0fea9d85c07d6939a.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131755">Most of the Lycian tombs date back to the period prior to the rule of Alexander the Great (4th century B.C.) The Lycian rock tombs, almost resembling temples, are carved on the slopes of the mountains, and are not within easy reach, as we discovered. A wrong turn lead us not to the tombs, but instead lead up straight up the hill to the Fethiye castle, believed to be constructed for the Knights of Saint John. From the top of the castle, we enjoyed an incredible view of Fethiye and the distant tombs; the view really made up for the lack of general upkeep of the castle ruins and the walk up the hill. With the temperature still on the rise, we decided to visit the tombs another time, and we radioed back to yacht to inform the captain that we were ready to come back to the air conditioned comfort of Metsuyan IV. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131756/image/large-91bbf394828d8be2f073bcd9e0cbd3c3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131756">Within 2 minutes of stepping back on board, the captain had us underway to our next location, a secluded bay east of Göcek. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131757/image/large-6fa186f33ba0b57f9b91a627bb7b0277.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131757"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131758/image/large-c6f4f4c93098458d9749c6421899750f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131758">     <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131759/image/large-da4484666108dd5a9c3b32aa6b39b209.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131759">An hour later we were once again anchored in a gorgeous secluded bay, far removed from the buzzing streets of Fethiye. After some swimming and snorkeling from Metsuyan‘s swim platform, we tucked into a delicious late lunch, followed by a quick nap on the sunpads to digest the wonderful homemade cheesecake desert. The afternoon was spent wakeboarding, waterskiing and kayaking. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/131760/image/large-53343265e03555c64e84102397d548a7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/131760">Our original itinerary had us back in the port of Göcek for dinner that night, but none of the guests were quite ready to leave the beauty of our anchorage behind, and plans were quickly changed, to an overnight stay at our anchorage. For our final night on board, Chef Rebecca really showed off her abilities in the galley. After margaritas in the upper deck salon, we descended down to the main deck dining room, for our farewell dinner. A sumptuous 7 course main followed, that included scallops, pork fillet on a bed of ramen noodles, and homemade ginger ice cream. Superyacht charter review: Turkish delights on board Metsuyan IV

She offers accommodation to 10 guests in one master cabin on the main deck and four guest cabins below deck. Metsuyan IV anchored in Turkey

Ginton Naval Architects in Holland has received an order for the design of a 40 metre Motor Yacht. The design concept is based on the succesful M/Y Metsuyan IV and she will also be built at CBI Navi, part of Fipa Group, in Italy. She has a steel hull, aluminium superstructure, 2 Caterpillar C32 engines, 850 hp each, ZF 4:1 gearboxes and Caterpillar C4.4 generators. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125695/image/large-bfd979cccf29168ed8d4588020de4ba3.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125695">The yacht has been designed to be exceptionally quiet. The design of the propeller, the mountings for shaft and engine and the exhaust system have received a lot of attention. The exhaust system for example is a specially designed scoop below the waterline. This greatly reduces exhaust noise and results in far less exhaust gases around the boat. As is normal on Ginton Naval Architects displacement yachts, this yacht will also be fitted with a bulbous bow. This reduces resistance and pitch movement in head seas. Low resistance, fuel consumption and the tremendous fuel capacity (56000 l.) give a range of 4200 nautical miles. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125696/image/large-ed31035129635ffb50e59f095b4e3359.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125696">She will have all the beauty of a true yacht, but with the sailing abilities of a true ship. Ginton Naval Architects designs a new 40m CBI Navi motor yacht

But with four yachts under construction, including three 50m yachts, they are doing very well.
