<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4229" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Naval Yachts (Company)">Naval Yachts</a>, the Turkish-based shipbuilders that brought us the 40-metre sailing yacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5495" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Minalli40.0m (131'3&quot;)Naval Yachts2012">Minalli</a> in 2012, is busy with a new collection: the XPM Series. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220971/image/large-04b1ff1a9177a0c23911430d1bbf7eef.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220971">The first hull, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12014" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Möbius 23.8m (78'1&quot;)Naval Yachts2021">Möbius</a>, was launched last year, while the second hull from the line and the XPM 85-01 are both currently in build at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4229" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Naval Yachts (Company)">Naval Yachts</a> facilities in Konyaaltı, Antalya. The series is characteristic of the currently in-vogue explorer that’s tall, stacked and utilitarian. Her naval architecture and exterior styling came from the drawing boards of Dennis Harjaama from <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6665" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artnautica Yacht Design (Company)">Artnautica</a>. While her interior design was conceived by her builder <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4229" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Naval Yachts (Company)">Naval Yachts</a>.<img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220965/image/large-56896456c095d8f5168ca4a078454506.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220965"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220970/image/large-8531d77be0e94e52527e96821225a6b4.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220970">She has a raw, unpolished exterior finish that pays homage to her rugged character. With a two-stateroom configuration, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12014" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Möbius 23.8m (78'1&quot;)Naval Yachts2021">Möbius</a> can sleep up to four guests, but she is spacious enough to entertain as many as eight on day trips. When cruising at 10 knots, she has an impressive 6,000 nautical mile range. When at full bore, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/12014" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Möbius 23.8m (78'1&quot;)Naval Yachts2021">Möbius</a> can reach speeds of 14 knots. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220967/image/large-f127f3505c6b9f25a42543b057b3e700.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220967"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220966/image/large-26d018340d22970cc21e4ec3aa35d056.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220966"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220969/image/large-a31f8a261cd7a432fbb8ec1413bc55ee.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220969">The XPM 78-02, which is being built for another US client, splinters away from its sistership with an array of unique features. <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6665" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artnautica Yacht Design (Company)">Artnautica</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4229" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Naval Yachts (Company)">Naval Yachts</a> have equipped her with an additional stateroom, so she can sleep up to six guests, 36 square metres of solar panels and raised bulwarks on her bow. The main saloon and flybridge have also been extended. In lieu of a single propulsion system, the second hull will sport twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2334" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="John Deere (Company)">John Deere</a> 160 horsepower engines. Much like the two XPM 78s, this large model sports a naval architecture and exterior styling by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/6665" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Artnautica Yacht Design (Company)">Artnautica Yacht Design</a> and an interior by <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/4229" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Naval Yachts (Company)">Naval Yachts</a>. She’s being built for a US client who plans to circumnavigate the world in her, so naval architects equipped her with twin <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1470" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Scania (Company)">Scania</a> engines that give her a 10,000 nautical mile range. <img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220983/image/large-72c2dfe13c1d87ca91b618b72ec5276f.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220983"><img src="https://photo-assets.superyachttimes.com/photo/220988/image/large-9ff13e6c6ef2189944de35dd99288278.jpeg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/220988">The XPM 85-01 has a three stateroom configuration and an additional crew cabin and allows for more living space compared to other options in the series. Introducing Naval Yachts’ utilitarian “go-anywhere” XPM Series

Turkish shipyard, Naval Yachts, was established as a shipbuilder four years ago but begun in 2008 as a designing and engineering centre. It was the opening of a new boatyard in Antalya in 2010 that transformed the company into what it is today - one of Turkey’s most exciting young shipyards. SYT's Merijn visited the yard last week.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151163/image/large-ba50908dc765a481fdb5ea4dbf4767a8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/151163">The first vessel launched was a 40-metre sailing yacht which hit the water in 2012. Named <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/5495" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Minalli40.0m (131'3&quot;)Naval Yachts2012">Minalli</a> and accommodating 12 guests as well as a crew of up to 9, the inaugural boat was a success and showcased the shipyards competency in both designing and building superyachts.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151164/image/large-125d916b7b064b098a103bd596e8c066.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/151164">Since 2012, Naval Yachts have been busy focusing on re-branding their business in the European market, which included moving their original headquarters to a larger, 4,000m2 facility located in Antalya, Turkey, in collaboration with Bering Yachts.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/151165/image/large-495010f2daf7dd9e511255ea1eb6cde9.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/151165">In regards to differentiation of Naval Yachts to the rest of the market, the company confidently states that, “The differentiation of Naval Yachts in the yacht building market begins with our passion for the sea and improves along the way with our professional organisational system, which includes perfect time schedules from the purchasing process to the final stage of construction. The vessel is expected to be delivered to its owner early summer 2015.
