The inaugural <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Event/213" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit">Asia-Pacific Superyacht Summit</a> is taking place in Hong Kong on the 5 and 6 of June, at the Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel. Superyacht Rahil in Palma de Mallorca

Built for a highly private owner by Italian shipyard Mariotti Yachts in 2012, Rahil is one of two 54-metre yachts delivered by the yard, the other one being Sea Force One that was completed in 2008. Her interior, which has never been published, embodies good taste and style and features a variety of teak, wengé and oak, leather, nubuck and linen selected from the collections of Loro Piana, Dedar and Minotti. Rahil boasts an impressive volume of 928 GT and a grand master suite forward on the main deck, complete with large skylight and dual side balconies.

Italian shipyard Mariotti has historically focused on commercial vessels, with cruise ships forming the larger part of their business. With almost 90 years in the industry, times are changing for Mariotti, and they are beginning to introduce more and more projects that are decidedly more focused on the luxury yacht side of the business. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157906/image/large-90db6cc46971c1214e8fc12c72449df6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/130449">We sat down with Giangiacomo Zino, Mariotti’s Sales and Marketing Manager, last summer, who explored the future of the brand as well as hinted at the larger 100+ metre projects of which rumours have been circulating the industry for some weeks.Starting with a brief history of the brand as well as the introduction of a current, and highly confidential project currently in build, Zino tells SYT, “Mariotti started in 1928. We grew up over the years did repairs and then conversions, and then in 1992, we became an official new builder. We currently have a vessel under construction, but I’m afraid we cannot disclose any information about it! The project came out of a competition with other yards.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157907/image/large-3a2fc4e4393efdd51c1b1d9d4d51e2a7.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/153564">Based on Mariotti’s background in commercial ships rather than luxury yachts, the new, secretive project seems well suited to their expertise as, realistically, the vessel seems to be more of a luxury cruise passenger ship than a superyacht. Zino agrees before apologising once more for the lack of details available to the public. “In principle, that could be true, but we have heavy consequences if we disclose anymore.”With the 54 metre superyacht Rahil delivered two years ago, and the iconic Sea Force One delivered in 2008, we asked Zino what superyacht projects the brand are currently working on. He says, “As soon as we delivered Sea Force One it became very famous because it is an eclectic ship. But Rahil is completely different. Rahil is a house, Sea Force One pushes more on the entertainment side. Rahil was a good result, and when we went to the Monaco Yacht Show, we understood that we couldn’t go only with the 54 metres, we had to invest in more.“So at that time we created some additional platforms such as 59, 67, 73 metres while in recent times we have developed the concept for the 38, and 51 metre Sportdeck series starting from two projects realised for offshore use. They are not completed, but from the technical point of view, if an owner says, ‘I want the 51, but with a refined superstructure,’ then we can start, because at least we have done some verification on the stability as well as the speed.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157908/image/large-87ed76fba6c5cdc55cdf8bb0180b61f1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157908">In terms of the future, we asked if the yard also want to go over 51 metres - an ironic question in hindsight. Zino replied that not only are they able to build larger, but that it is, in fact, the aim. He says, “Our goal is to break 100 metres. We did some market research and we found that there is a demand for that kind of boat, and from the technical point of view we know everything.” Asked if they have the capacity, he explains, “The two big two yards in Genoa have been merged into one single holding named Genova Industrie Navali, and Mariotti is part of that.”<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/157909/image/large-ddc6f1db75fe9bcec178e86e66ff665d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/157909">We asked if owner’s in general seem confident commissioning Mariotti to construct a large yacht. He said, “People have confidence first of all because we have an industrial background. The owner with an industrial counterpart here is ensured that the money of the lease is guaranteed. So we are financially reliable. The second thing is that technically it is our main job, and we manage the company. For the interior, it is our companies that you hire. Insight: Mariotti ventures into new, larger territory

Delivered earlier this year, Rahil is a sistership to the Admiral 54 Sea Force One, which received great appreciation worldwide. Designed by Luca Dini and built by Mariotti Yachts, Rahil has a sleek and imposing silhouette. The Mariotti Shipyard in Genoa has announced the creation of Mariotti Yachts, a brand formerly known as Admiral Mariotti Yachts and a partnership between Cantieri Navale Lavagna and the Mariotti Shipyard. The eclectic Sea Force One

On the 17th of July Admiral Mariotti Yachts celebrated the launch of the first Admiral 54, Sea Force One. She is the first 54 meter superyacht build by AMY, the joint venture between CNL and T.Mariotti of Genoa. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/125198/image/large-315a4a36cdc4fc54cd1aee19af7d6f7c.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/125198">“In less than three years from its beginning, AMY today celebrates the delivery of its first yacht, while a 54 meter sister ship, recently purchased by a Middle-eastern owner, is under construction set for delivery in 2010”, said Marco Bisagno, the vice-president of AMY. The M/Y <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/62">Sea Force One</a>, designed by Luca Dini Design, is a really unique ship. The hull is distinguished immediately by its color, shiny black, the silhouette of the ship is imposing but sinuous thanks to the lateral rounding off of the silver grey superstructure. The strong personality of the owner is evident in every aspect. Designed to accommodate 10 passengers in 5 cabins and up to 12 crew members, the yacht reaches 54 meters in length and expands over four decks. The yacht is classed by both ABS and RINA. Not only the yacht received the RINA Green Star certificate, which assure compliance with the strictest regulations in terms of environmental protection, but also the new RINA Secure Yacht certificate. The Admiral 54 is the first yacht to obtain this very new certification, which assures safety on board through monitoring all areas on board and around the yacht. The Admiral 54 will be presented for the first time at the next Monaco Boat Show (24-27 September 2008).

Admiral Mariotti Yachts launches Sea Force One

On December 4th 2007, the fourth annual “Admiral Yacht Master Meeting” took place. In the wake of the huge acclaim won in past years, applying the principle of “mixing,” the event was divided into two distinct parts: one session devoted to working and one devoted to leisure and teambuilding. This year the two distinct parts coincided with two different venues: from the sea of Genoa to the hills in Piedmonte. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/123779/image/large-9a0fc4d7f0b47b597c5b7e7d90ebe4d1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/123779"><img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/123780/image/large-fa6b19aa891fc0b4213d4a59fdfb7ef1.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/123780">The morning session took place at the T.Mariotti shipyards in Genoa. The symposium, on board the MY Dionea moored for the occasion in front of the AMY shed, was introduced by Laura Ceccarelli, CNL vice-president, and Francesco Ceccarelli, AMY CEO. They welcomed the over 60 masters attending the event. Presentations from engineer Massimo Allegri, AMY technical division CEO, and architect Luca Dini, from Luca Dini Design, followed. Topics at the conference included state-of-the-art and specific construction techniques adopted for the first displacement <a href="#managed-by-application" data-legacy="true" data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/62">54-meter Admiral</a> and new 65-meter project, actually on development. After the business session, the yacht masters moved over to the brand new, rust-brown AMY shed—looking like raw metal plate before treatment—which is 3,000 square meters in width, exclusively dedicated to the construction of mega yachts up to 75 meters in length and went aboard the first Admiral displacement yacht under construction: the 54-meter. Our guests could appreciate the quality of the construction and realize that building criteria typical in ship construction—yet innovative in yacht building—have been adopted here, such as the designing pushed to a very extreme attention for detail and high sophistication and the worth to note prefabrication of manufactures. The advanced state of construction (delivery is for May 2008) allowed our guests to see the brand new concept opening components – platforms, balconies, staircase – already completed and installed. It is important to note that the ship has obtained the Rina Green Star certification and that this certification will be compulsory for all the future production, stating the attention that AMY pays to preserve environment. And for guests it means utter freedom of navigation. The afternoon was devoted to leisure activities, and the yacht masters moved to Monterotondo di Gavi, where wine poured from bottles to goblets for a course of wine tasting. It was an intense, professional, constructive day, both for the yacht masters, who participated actively and enthusiastically, and for the organizers, who had the opportunity to find themselves face to face with real seafarers. The date is already set for next year, with another original idea that will touch the emotions without compromising on professionalism and quality. <noscript></noscript>
