Edmiston had joined Floating Life as the co-central agent for the sale of superyacht Ocean Emerald. Edmiston joins Floating Life as the co-central agent of Ocean Emerald

Some unions are meant to be, and when Floating Life was introduced to Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) a year and a half ago, it became clear, almost immediately, that this match between two corporate dynamos would be one made in heaven. Floating Life, with offices in Switzerland, Italy, Monaco and Shanghai, offers comprehensive management and technical services to an international clientele of yacht owners, and in so doing it demands the highest degree of professional competence from its own employees as well as any outside entity that becomes involved with the company’s coordination of countless technical, administrative and logistical details. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/134632/image/large-b41dc738055c5c762fbc5277cac50b34.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/134632">In the case of transporting Floating Life’s three 131’ (41 meter) Norman Foster-designed motor yachts back and forth between the Caribbean and the Mediterranean, there is no other yacht transport company with which Floating Life would rather involve itself than DYT. According to Floating Life President Barbara Tambani, the reasons go far beyond Dockwise Yacht Transport’s unique ability to safely “float” yachts on and off of their own giant semi-submersible yacht carriers. “When you offer a service, you have to be competent at what you are doing,” she said, with a nod to DYT’s gloved-hand approach and devotion to details. “In our particular case, losing 20 days of time because something went wrong creates many more problems than you might expect.” Tambani explained that MY Ocean Emerald, MY Ocean Pearl and MY Ocean Sapphire are the basis of Floating Life’s unique fractional ownership program, by which 24 families – eight per boat – have owner access to the yachts for a certain number of days a year. “The reality is that it is not often that yacht owners have an opportunity to use their boats more than 30 days a year, 45 max: typically several weekends and then maybe a month extended vacation somewhere. With fractional ownership, they can choose their dates on the calendar, the running costs are split between families, and basically a 40 meter yacht is enjoyed for the same cost as running a 20 meter yacht.” Greece, Sardinia and the south of France will be the three locations where Floating Life owners can enjoy time aboard their yachts this summer. All furnishings and fittings are provided by the Italian manufacturer Cassina and kitchen and galley equipment by Schiffini. Foster + Partners has created a sense of continuity between the outside areas and interior spaces. On the main deck, solid teak wood continues indoors through the length of the spacious saloon (538 sq ft / 50 sqm) while the panoramic saloon on the upper deck has coconut husk fibre flooring, evocative of the laid-back interior style of a beach hut. On the lower levels glossy, highly reflective finishes maximise the natural light available. The entire length of the owner’s suite is glazed on both sides with full-length windows. At night, the windows appear opaque from the outside, while during the day, the strong outside light floods into the space, making the windows appear completely lucent and open to the seascape. Vessel Walkthrough Lower Deck The guest cabins on the Lower Deck provide spacious accommodation for up to 10 guests. The YachtPlus Programme In order to join the YachtPlus ownership lifestyle programme an initial payment of EUR 1.850.000 will give a 1/8th shared ownership of the yacht and guarantees 34 days per year on board – 11days in the Mediterranean during summer, 11 days in the Caribbean during winter and two six day cruises. In addition there will be an annual service charge of EUR 200.000. YachtPlus’ first Norman Foster designed superyacht Ocean Emerald

Last month the Rodriquez shipyard in La Spezia launched the first YachtPlus fractional ownership superyacht, named Ocean Emerald. Both the interior and exterior of the 41 metre superyacht have been designed by Foster + Partners. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/127000/image/large-be65cea836b00676d9192def86d86481.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/127000">The Rodriquez Shipyard is currently building three more superyachts and last year YachtPlus unveiled their plans for 10 identical superyachts to be built over a period of three years. Ocean Emerald can accommodate 12 guests in five suites, served by a crew of seven. Rodriquez launches the first YachtPlus superyacht, Ocean Emerald

YachtPlus, one of the worlds’ most exclusive fractional ownership companies, has announced that it will be launching its first superyacht this September at the Monaco Yacht Show. Formed in 2005 by a group of financial investors, YachtPlus is rapidly becoming the market leader in fractional ownership and this year will introduce one of the most spectacular and exceptionally beautiful contemporary yachts to the market. Named YachtPlus 1 this floating masterpiece was designed by internationally renowned architect Norman Foster and will be the first of 10 identical superyachts to be built over the next three years at the Rodriquez Cantieri Navali yard at La Spezia, Italy. <img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/124731/image/large-c257e5cd9e2ea71f767a11821aa913e6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/124731">With a strong emphasis on quality and quantity of space this stunning four deck boat has an overall length of 41 meters. Once commissioned, the yachts will have five suites for up to 12 guests at any one time who will be looked after by a permanent crew of seven highly trained and experienced staff. The internal planning of the yachts will offer total flexibility to respond to the most discerning needs of owners and their guests and families with keen attention being paid to design and detail ranging from space and ambience down to crockery, cutlery, fabrics and crew uniforms. In order to join the YachtPlus ownership programme an initial payment of EUR1,850,000 will give a 1/8th shared ownership of the yacht and guarantees 30 full days per year on board – 10 days peak season in the Mediterranean and 10 days peak season in the Caribbean and two five day “cultural cruises.” 1/8th ownership will also give access to the YachtPlus fleet of 10 identical yachts worldwide so the owner can choose when and where they go. The contract period is for eight years after which time the yachts will be sold and the owners will receive full pro-rated proceeds from the sale. All arrangements from bookings to transport, private jet and helicopter transfers and onboard requests will be handled by the YachtPlus Concierge who will take care of every detail and all requirements thereby further enhancing the ultimate experience in hospitality, service and luxury available to the owners. YachtPlus’s second boat will be launched in early 2009 with two more to follow later in the year. A further six yachts are scheduled to be launched during 2010/2011 to complete the YachtPlus fleet.
