In a recent development, Naples, Italy, a popular destination for luxury yachts, has implemented a new regulation that prohibits the docking of vessels larger than 75-metres. Overlooking the city of Cape Town in Western Cape, South Africa, Table Mountain is one of the foremost and most famous tourist attractions found in the region, with thousands of visitors from all around the world flocking to the area to reach its summit via cableway or on foot. As well as the large array of flora and fauna which can be found as you make your ascent, the most distinctive aspect of a trip up Table Mountain is evident upon finally reaching the summit: the flat top which gives the landmark its name. &nbsp;Our next interview subject does not hail from Cape Town, or even call South Africa his home, but finds this South-African landmark to be an excellent analogy for describing his career in the superyacht industry so far. As he explains, “It’s not the highest mountain in the world, but you get up there and don’t come down again. Of course, size isn’t everything for the British designer who first entered the industry under the wing of the late, great Jon Bannenberg, but it does show us something. Namely, that over a career spanning four decades, Tim Heywood has won himself something which isn’t easy to come by: the trust of some of the world’s most influential and private people to create extraordinary - and extremely private - floating homes for them. Plus, as the affable designer hints at throughout our conversation, these clients often end up coming back for more. <img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/78005/image/large-68ce5d748a1e9b1dc7a0e14a5a978090.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/78005">“We’ve done some remarkable work over the years, and I do sometimes have to pinch myself when I look back.” Looking back is not something that the designer likes to do often, preferring to keep his attention focused firmly on the next exterior design project (or five). Allowing ourselves the liberty to look back, how did Heywood get to where I see him today, moving between his tranquil and beautifully laid-out studio space annexe and the elegant country house he shares with his business partner and now wife, Vanessa on the outskirts of Headley in Hampshire, England?&nbsp;With a background in industrial design engineering, Heywood is the first to admit that his initial meeting with Mr Bannenberg had something fortuitous about it. “I approached another company who I thought were looking for an illustrator and they said that they were terribly sorry, but they weren’t looking any more. A friend of theirs was looking for someone though: a guy called Jon in Chelsea who did yacht design. So I rang them up and they said come by tomorrow and I thought, ‘I’d better draw some yachts.’ I worked through the whole night drawing my first ever yachts and the longest one I drew was about 18 feet long. I really had no idea about big yachts - and I came in and got offered the job starting the next day.”<img src="/uploads/store/photo/5867/image/large-e0073473eec322b5ecf995161a7f8d72.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/5867">Once given the chance, it didn’t take long for Heywood to earn his stripes with <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/17" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bannenberg & Rowell Design (Company)">Bannenberg</a>, visiting shipyards all around the world and relishing the opportunities it brought him.&nbsp;“I loved every minute of being in a shipyard and the effect of seeing what I’d drawn actually appear on the slipway. It’s a truly wonderful thing to stand on the quay and wave goodbye to them and off they go around the world.”&nbsp;Quick to attribute much of his early success to the influence of the English-Australian yacht designer who&nbsp;“created the yacht design industry”, as Heywood sees it, Heywood moved from being a&nbsp;“kind of jobbing designer, doing everything and anything Jon wanted me to do”, to a designer in his own right, conducting client meetings, assembling contracts and running the complete project himself (with Bannenberg looking over his shoulder from time to time). By 1996, however, it was time for a change. Bannenberg had decided to become part-owner of an Australian shipyard in a move which Heywood was certain could only be detrimental to his relationships with European shipyards. For Heywood, it was the perfect opportunity to break off and make his own luck and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tim Heywood Design Ltd. (Company)">Tim Heywood Designs</a> was born, together with the help and guiding hands of co-director Vanessa, his partner, constant supporter and encouraging influencer.<img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/93577/image/large-719c165ade67a041abdf668315b8b972.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/93577">It wasn’t only the company car and computer which Heywood was allowed to keep when he left <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/17" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bannenberg & Rowell Design (Company)">Bannenberg</a>. “I was working on&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/282" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Limitless96.25m (315'9&quot;)Lürssen Yachts1997">Limitless</a>&nbsp;at the time and Jon said, ‘I’ll pay you a fee, but I want you to maintain control over&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/282" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Limitless96.25m (315'9&quot;)Lürssen Yachts1997">Limitless</a>&nbsp;and complete her. I was obviously very pleased and carried it on with him, and then the shipyard took me on to do the wheelhouse and crew accommodation and that cemented my relationship with&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/23" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lürssen Yachts (Company)">Lürssen</a>.” Since going solo back in 1996, Heywood has decided to keep it that way, offering me a wry smile when he describes receiving emails from ill-informed internship hopefuls keen to demonstrate their enthusiasm to join the ‘<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tim Heywood Design Ltd. (Company)">Tim Heywood Design</a> team’. Heywood’s characteristically kind solution to this predicament is to direct their attention towards larger superyacht design outfits such as his long-time working associates, and former colleagues at <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/17" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Bannenberg & Rowell Design (Company)">Bannenberg</a>’s studio, <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Terence Disdale Design (Company)">Terence Disdale</a> and <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/69" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Winch Design (Company)">Andrew Winch</a> in London where they might have better luck. &nbsp;Working as this team of two, with partner Vanessa, represents the perfect set-up for Heywood as it allows him to concentrate on what he loves the most: the actual nitty-gritty work of design. “I get to do all the design work, and that is what I love: be it a 140-metre piece of sculpture, a bollard or a stainless-steel door handle which is going to be on the exterior door of this wonderful yacht.” Speaking of bollards, it is when he is describing a bollard design he devised for the 115-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/298" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Pelorus115.0m (377'4&quot;)Lürssen Yachts2003">Pelorus</a> that Heywood’s excitement for his vocation shines through. “I was looking at the bollard design and thinking ‘it’s a bollard, a bit like other bollards, but could I put a piece of teak decking in the top?’ I asked&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/23" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Lürssen Yachts (Company)">Lürssen</a>&nbsp;and they said, ‘Ah, we will speak to the stainless steel manufacturers and see what it possible’ and they eventually came back and said, yes they could make a recess. A lot of my yachts since then have had a teak top to the bollard, which looks great, plus you can sit on it, even when it’s been in the sun as it’s nowhere near as hot as sitting on stainless steel. Little details like that - I get such a big kick out of them.”<img src="https://sya.superyachttimes.com/uploads/store/photo/100113/image/large-c05992f1973329e9da397b620f18e6e8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/100113">And then there’s the deck columns: “When you go on a lot of boats, you will see a 120mm diameter pipe which is holding up the deck column, but if you go on my boats, you don’t see that, you’ll see an arching piece of aluminium, beautifully finished and clad with teak or painted bronze with lights built in. I feel that every detail on a yacht should have design time and effort invested in it.” Easy as it is to become absorbed in listening to Heywood waxing lyrical about these design details, it is the sum of their parts that has won him his extraordinary reputation. His sleek and ‘athletically feminine’ lines are somewhat of a trademark of his work, although not something he feels in any way limited by. This is evidenced by the 62.4-metre <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/18" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amels (Company)">Amels</a> Limited Edition 199 superyacht <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Yacht/3670" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Event62.4m (204'9&quot;)Amels2013">Event</a> delivered in 2013 which displays these feminine “sculpted curves” alongside more militaristic and faceted aspects (a kind of “origami effect” as Heywood describes it). For the British designer, it is the ability to create massive forms and shapes through his creations which has kept him primarily focused on exterior rather than interior design, especially in the latter part of his career - although his highly industrious personality also comes into play. <img src="/uploads/store/photo/93587/image/large-fe745cab7117b17d62f19f81bb9df4b6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/93587">“I love the grander scale, but as the projects got bigger and bigger, I realised that the interior takes as much time, maybe even more time, as the exterior. I thought, if I just do the exteriors, I can do maybe three boats simultaneously, if I do the interior, I can only do one in that time. I don’t want to undertake a complete interior again. Let the usual suspects of our interior design get on with it! I’ve worked with&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/2" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Terence Disdale Design (Company)">Terence Disdale</a>&nbsp;on 4-5 boats and likewise, I’ve worked with&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/69" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Winch Design (Company)">Andrew Winch</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/88" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Laura Sessa Romboli (Company)">Laura Sessa</a>&nbsp; - there are probably seven interior design companies that have had work on our projects. It’s nice that we’ve given out so much work - let’s keep these guys busy!”One of the most significant collaborations in Heywood’s career was when he designed a whole range of yachts for Dutch shipyard <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/18" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amels (Company)">Amels</a>, the Limited Editions range, including the popular 55-metre LE180 which has sold more than 24 units since its inception in 2011. This represented an interesting test for the designer. “The larger the boat is, the easier it is to make it elegant, but I liked the challenge of trying to apply the design formulas I’ve created to smaller boats. You put as much design effort into the first yacht of the series as you would with an individual design because that’s what it is: an individual design."<img src="/uploads/store/photo/61331/image/large-f629339aa4cc79f0e35bb89d7db975a8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/61331">In any case, whether it is the fifteenth boat in a series for <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/18" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Amels (Company)">Amels</a> or a fully-confidential one-off custom 100m+ project, it is his profound understanding of the clients for whom he is designing that has kept Heywood at the peak of the design business for the last 40 years and ensured his longevity within the industry. Heywood quite frequently finds himself in that rare club of those invited back onto superyachts following their completion: an invitation that he may politely decline. “These boats that I’m involved in are people’s homes. You can live on a yacht and run your business and if you don’t tell people where you are, they won’t know. One of the things that drives this industry is providing privacy for these people. I went on a boat in a shipyard recently that was nearly completed and the captain asked me, ‘Would you like to see the inside?’ And I said, ‘No, you’ve got a beautiful exterior which is my design, and I am very pleased with that, but that is enough’. If the clients wish me to come and have a look around, I’d be happy to, but these are people’s private homes. This means I’ve still not seen the interiors of some of my yachts!”&nbsp;<img src="/uploads/store/photo/93582/image/large-b4636ed39a0242f9dc20b0168a404d47.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/93582">Indeed, this consideration for the needs of his clients goes right to the core of Heywood’s design philosophy and carries with it a refreshing pragmatism. “I’ve always tried to produce work that I feel pushes the envelope a little bit but doesn’t go wacky, Vanessa’s opinion is a great stabilising factor! For the client who invests a lot of time, effort and a substantial amount of money into these boats, they know that if they have a Tim Heywood designed boat, they will recoup the money they spent later on.”&nbsp;This approach does not mean, however, that Heywood suffers from any shortage of tantalising design ideas. What is the most challenging superyacht project which he has not yet been able to build? “It was a 140-metre which had an exterior covered in faceted glass. I went to see a repeat client with five sketches to see which direction to go in and this was one of them, and he liked it. I was surprised and I started developing it. It was something totally unique and different but then he decided not to proceed with the project yet. Yet. So we’ll see!” Appropriately vague for a designer who values client confidentiality so highly, Heywood has a “couple of projects” with which he is currently involved, as well as&nbsp;“a nice little project in Germany which isn’t a yacht.” But whenever it is that we see the next instantly-recognisable <a data-gid="gid://syiq/Company/1" href="#managed-by-system" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" title="Tim Heywood Design Ltd. Recently seen in the port of Antibes is the 101.5-metre Feadship motor yacht Symphony, as she is currently spending time on the French Riviera. Symphony made headlines in 2015 when she was launched as the Dutch shipyard’s largest project to date and, at the time, also the largest yacht in the Netherlands. Her exterior profile is unmistakably that of designer Tim Heywood. The Zuretti-designed interior can carry extended groups of guests and was built according to the Passenger Yacht Code.

Stabia Main Port is the ideal superyacht port for charter services in the Gulf of Naples, located 13 nm away from Capri and only 6 nm from Sorrento. In the Stabia town, just some of the main attractions include the medieval castle and the Bourbon Palace, or the Ancient Spas with 28 sources, mentioned by Goethe in his journeys. The port of Castellammare is already known for having always been the docking place for the Amerigo Vespucci School Ship, built at the Fincantieri Stabiese shipyard, which was born as a Royal Bourbon Arsenal.

Designed by Tim Heywood, Symphony’s exterior decks offer guests a 6-metre glass-bottomed swimming pool on main deck, an outdoor cinema on bridge deck, and an oversized Jacuzzi on sundeck. Her interior design was created by Zuretti Interior Design to carry 36 passengers, complying with the new Passenger Yacht Code (PYC). Superyacht Symphony in the Caribbean

The past weekend saw one of the busiest periods of superyacht operations for the Mediterranean gateway port of Gibraltar, as a total of 20 superyachts were recorded making use of the port’s facilities. An impressive number of 19 superyachts were at one stage either alongside the new deep water Mid Harbours Marina, private marinas, or in the anchorage outside the port simultaneously.

It is nothing new for these superyachts to pull over for a pit stop in Gibraltar, but according to Port CEO and Captain, Bob Sanguinetti, “the new berths at Mid Harbours Marina, improved superstructure, competitively priced fuel, and a concerted marketing effort,” all contributed to the recent increase in activity in the port. The peak in activity is of course a direct result of the annual migration of superyachts heading south across the Atlantic where a busy winter cruising season awaits.

Superyacht Felix off Point Grey, Vancouver

Recently captured anchored off Point Grey in Vancouver is the 70 metre converted superyacht Felix. Built by Neue Jadewerft as a research vessel in 1969, Felix was transformed into a private yacht by Jade Yachts in Taiwan and re-launched as Amadeus in 2006. Her new lines have been designed by Reymond Langton with Francois Zuretti responsible for her interior styling. Her previous owner is known to have taken delivery of his latest yacht, the 101.5 metre Feadship Symphony before having sold Felix to her current owner. The yacht accommodates 12 guests with space for 19 crew on board.

The two Dutch built superyachts Symphony and Savannah were recently spotted anchored off Antibes. The 101.5 metre Symphony is the largest vessel to have ever been delivered by the Dutch shipyard, and also the largest superyacht built in the Netherlands. She is designed to carry 36 passangers and complies with the new Passenger Yacht Code (PYC). The 83.25m Savannah is branded as an industry leading creation, featuring advancements in the field of hybrid propulsion technologies and on board guest interfaces. Superyachts Ester III and Symphony were recently filmed by a drone in the port of Stabia, Italy. Ester III has been designed by Espen Oeino, who has giving the yacht a masculine appearance as specified by the owner. Reymond Langton is responsible for her interiors. Symphony making her way through the Dutch waterways

On Friday, we already showed you the first photos of the newly launched 101.5 metre superyacht that was built at Feadship's yard in Kaag. Over the weekend, Feadship installed her top deck (which could not be added inside the shipyard, due to height restrictions). The yacht, known as project 808, has a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and measures 101.50 metres in length with a 14.10 metre beam and a 4.10 metre draught. These pictures taken earlier today exclusively by SuperYacht Times show the Feadship 808 superyacht leaving the construction hall of the Feadship Royal van Lent shipyard in Kaag, the Netherlands. Exclusive! Feadship launches 101.50 metre project 808

Last week I visited the Feadship shipyard in Makkum, the Netherlands, as part of the Holland Yachting Group Press Tour 2014.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149009/image/large-104a51aa46c910c1564f6c91f4b08bb8.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/148553">Unfortunately, some of Feadship's current projects are being kept under wraps, such as the 70 metre pictured above. We have, however, been allowed to unveil more information on several of the projects currently underway at the three shipyards that make up Feadship, together with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects.The first project is Hull 686, a twin screw motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. She measures an impressive 83.50 metres, with a 12.50 metre beam and 3.95 metre draught. Her interior design is by Cristina Benardeau.Hull 686 will accommodate 12 guests over four large staterooms, one VIP stateroom and the luxurious Owner’s suite. The crew of up to 26 will be accommodated over eight cabins, as well as personal cabins for the captain, engineer and two officers. Among other amenities and water toys, this vessel will come with two 9.0 metre tenders and one 15’ tender.The second project underway at Feadship in Aalsmeer is Hull 687. This 60.35 metre motor yacht is also built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, and will have a fuel capacity of 120,000 litres. Her interior is the work of renowned Dutch design company, Sinot Yacht Design.She will accommodate ten guests over four guest staterooms, as well as the generous Owner’s stateroom. Her twelve crew will be accommodated over six crew cabins. Storage rooms, laundry, the galley and the crew mess will all be located on the lower deck. Hull 687 comes complete with a 7 metre tender and wave runners.The 46.40 metre motor yacht Hull 689 is the next project underway at Feadship, with naval architecture by Dubois Naval Architects and interior design by Redman Whitely Dixon. She is powered by 2x Caterpillar C32 / 895 kW engines. This vessel will accommodate 8 guests in total over two double staterooms and two twin staterooms.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149010/image/large-e1646732dd13a7af0fe85572428c92a6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/141064"> The fourth vessel is the smallest project underway at Feadship, Hull 690, a 44.20 metre twin screw motor yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure. Naval architecture is by Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects, with interior design by Bannenberg &amp; Rowell Design. She accommodates 8 guests, in three large staterooms, two of which are easily convertible into one large stateroom with separate seating, and one large full beam VIP stateroom forward. The generous Owner’s suite comes with a luxurious study, double bathroom and walk in dressing room.The crew quarters are comfortable and spacious, with a private en-suite room for the captain, and two double en-suite crew cabins. Hull 690 comes equipped with a swimming pool with lifting floor, among other exciting features.Hull 808 is the largest project currently underway at the shipyard, a breath taking 101.50 metre project, with 14.10 metre beam and 4.10 draught. She has a fuel capacity of 220,000 litres and is powered by 4x MTU 16V4000M73, 2560 kW engines. The impressive vessel boasts naval architecture by Feadship, with exterior styling by Tim Heywood and interior designs by François Zuretti and Peter Marino.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/149011/image/large-e5dddb7b495ecadd3fa7c2f6fe7b438f.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/149011">The 14 guests she easily sleeps will be accommodated over 6 guest staterooms and one VIP stateroom, together with a double Owner’s cabin. Accommodation is also provided for the captain, 4 officers, 22 crew members and two staff members to ensure that guests have the most comfortable and opulent experience on board. She comes with one master tender, one guest tender, one crew tender and 2 jet skis.The sixth project being undertaken is a 66.25 metre twin screw motor yacht, Hull 809. She accommodates twelve guests over 6 luxurious cabins, including four guest suites and a VIP large stateroom which can also be converted into two guest suites on the main deck. The Owner’s suite comes complete with his &amp; hers bathroom facilities, as well as facilities that provide the ultimate exclusivity. This consists of a full Owner’s deck covering the full beam of the yacht and an extendable balcony and lounge area that can be closed off with sliding doors to create a separate room.Hull 809 boasts naval architecture by Feadship, and an interior design by Eidsgaard Design. Her many amenities include a sauna, gym and massage room as well as a 26’ tender, an impressive 28’ tender and 2 wave runners. She can accommodate 17 crew in total.The 57.45 metre motor yacht Hull 810 has, again, been engineered by Feadship, with exterior styling created by Eidsgaard Design in conjunction with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects. She is powered by 2x MTU 12V4000M63 1500 kW engines, and has a fuel capacity of 116,000 litres. She will accommodate 14 crew in total, and comes equipped with one 8.00 metre tender and one 9.00 metre tender.Last but not least, the final project currently underway at the Feadship shipyards is Hull 1005. This superyacht is an imposing 92.10 metres, with a beam of 14.30 metres and draught of 3.85 metres. He started young. Very young. Though the scope of his work might have changed since Dick van Lent gained his first grounding in the shipyard, his focus on providing exceptional, hands-on service hasn’t. The head of Feadship’s Royal Van Lent shipyard – one of the two yards that are the driving force behind Feadship – talks size, quality and moving into new markets.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/147378/image/large-1e8099a187cee5db9b7c74b535ae2522.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/147378">“Five years old,” he tells us, when we ask Dick van Lent for the point where his career started.Starting out cleaning the waterfront, boats and bilges, a young Van Lent soon learned that greater rewards came through interaction with people. He’d race to help clients refuel, with his brothers, all quickly grasping that to be service-driven not only provided greater satisfaction, it also came with a tip.By 13, that enjoyment gained out of the interaction with clients of his father’s shipyard had solidified into a more formal weekend role. Van Lent would cruise the canals that had been the backdrop of his childhood with English customers and their 50 to 60 foot yachts, fresh from the yard.It gave him that all-important grounding in dealing with clients, the technical knowledge he needed to solidify his start in the family business and, of course, first-hand experience of what the customer liked when sailing, what they didn’t and how to use that knowledge in the next stages of development.His current workforce means that in the last five years, he’s been able to step back and be strategic about spending time strengthening his team and reinforcing the company. Though of course, he’s never forgotten that early lesson about personal interaction.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/147379/image/large-fda9373c60008ef3fed0631e1aab151d.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/147379">“I am very much involved in the sales process, but even more on the hosting side. I show my face, show my clients that I am involved. When a client visits, I’m there, I tour the yachts with them and I’m there for lunches, dinners. I still pick up customers from the airport myself. In some cultures, they say that is not done, but in our culture you show your service side to the customer, and I always think that it’s the only time you can have a private conversation with them. Unfortunatelly, some of Feadship's current projects are being kept under wraps, yet we have been allowed to unveil more information on some of the projects currently underway at the three shipyards that make up Feadship, together with Feadship De Voogt Naval Architects.<img alt="" src="https://syt-store-production.s3.eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/photo/144627/image/large-946d7e14a966412f1615e5fa883f7ce6.jpg" data-gid="gid://syiq/Photo/140011">The largest of the projects is hull 808, the 101.5 metre yacht that was moved to the Feadship yard at Kaag Island this week, is designed by Tim Heywood, and will have an interior by Zuretti and Peter Marino. This will be Tim Heywood's first Feadship, although the designer was also involved in the design of superyacht Siran when he still worked for the design studio of Jon Bannenberg, and redesigned her when she was under refit in 2007. Besides her breathtakingly beautiful interior, the owners' vision for Sea Owl called for highly modern and complex technical specifications, including an extraordinarily sophisticated security system that both yard and owner's team regard as possibly the most elaborate ever built into a yacht. Project 687 is a 60.35 metre yacht designed by Dutch designers Sinot Yacht Design. The steel hulled displacement yacht will be powered by twin MTU 12V4000M53R diesels. Superyacht projects underway at Feadship

This weekend, the largest Feadship to date was transported through Holland's waterways, to the Royal Van Lent shipyard in Kaag, where she will be finished. The 101.5 metre superyacht (hull 808) will be the largest yacht ever to be built in The Netherlands. In fact, the yacht is so big, it did not fit through the locks at Gouda. The yacht arrived in sections, which were lifted on pontoons, and were moved over the lock, instead of through it. 101.5 Metre superyacht transported to Feadship yard

Today, the Feadship Koninklijke De Vries delivered the third Feadship of the month, Fountainhead. Earlier this month the 81 metre Air, and of 87.77 metre Musashi were delivered to their owners. Feadship Koninklijke De Vries delivers superyacht Fountainhead

She was built for an experienced yachtsman who previously owned an ever larger yacht, and many elements of the owner's previous yachts can be found on board Musashi. On May 2nd of this year, the yard launched Musashi's sistership, christened Fountainhead. Superyacht Musashi on her maiden voyage

Early this morning the Feadship Koninklijke De Vries shipyard in Makkum, launched the third Feadship XL named Fountainhead.
